    Thank you SO much. I was using brightstorm, but it's no longer a free service and I wasn't able to view the videos anymore. Because I'm self-learning, I need it. I'm trying to go from CPII algebra II to honours calculus in a year. These videos are life-savers. I cannot thank you enough.

    We were about to take our quiz for circles & ellipses and my teacher randomly started spitting out information about hyperbolas and then said to start on the quiz. How were we supposed to retain that if we didn't even have a chance to take notes?
    Thank you for this really easy explanation though :)

    Kudos, teaching with cosplay - great combo. My chem teacher used to do that. Most memorable classes/teacher I had.

    Star wars. It's a different sound track. I'm pretty sure, although I haven't seen star trek for a while. However, I'm glad there's a nerd fandom reference here. Oh and you'd totally pull off kirk. In fact, I' quite mad at the new series. YaymathXstartrek fandom would be a very nice crossover.

    then you have to complete the square so for the x values take the -10 out of the (-10x) and divided it by 2 so its 5 then square it so it will be 25 so it will look like this:
    9(x^2-10x+25)-4(y^2)=-129+(25*9)

  • @BlazeBoi928
    @BlazeBoi928 11 років тому

    Can you give out harder problems...cuz my teacher is making us put the regular form of the equation into standard form, and there are always coefficient. So I'll be really happy if you can put those kinds on problems and worked them out.

  • @ANAHL1AH
    @ANAHL1AH 12 років тому

    Then Add the 24 on both sides to cancel it
    9x^2-90x-4y^2-24(+24)=-153(+24)
    9x^2-90x-4y^2=-129
    Then find the greatest common factor so the question will look like this
    9(x^2-10x)-4(y^2)+-129

  • @SuperGaaralvr

    when c=+-root 13...you said that the two point were (root 13, 0) and (-root 13,0) but you didn't put -root 13 on the board. u left it (13,0). Just saying! :)

  • @ANAHL1AH
    @ANAHL1AH 12 років тому

    Then solve
    9(x^2-10x+25)-4(y^2)=-129+(25*9)
    9(x^2-10x+25)-4(y^2)=96
    then foil the x equation side
    9(x-5)^2-4(y+0)^2=96

    I disagree with your slope of your asymptotes. Your box you created is a rectangle with diagonal lines which means they are perpendicular. If they are indeed perpendicular then their respective slopes are opposite reciprocals, so one will be 1/2 and the other would be -2/1

    (MIVOX, MIVOY):
    Most Interesting Value of X
    Most Interesting Value of Y
    (y-3)^2 can never be negative but it can be zero only when y is positive 3. So 3 is the MIVOY.
    Likewise for x = -2

Secondly, I have clicked on three separate videos to see if the introduction songs were different & they were! Haha. It's nice that you involve your students, because it seems to me that they enjoy it.(: Their questions that they ask are like ones that I would ask as well, so it is very helpful! Thank you so much, & again keep up the great work!(:
