  • In this video clip, an A320 family jetliner is produced on one of the three final assembly lines for Airbus' single-aisle product line. The A320 Family is produced on two Airbus assembly lines in Europe: Toulouse, France and Hamburg, Germany; which have been complemented by an additional facility in China.

i hope this plane lives for thousands of years

I hope not. Already Airbus is milking this plane to its limits. It's an old airframe and should be replaced with a new clean sheet design made out of composite materials.
Airbus showed it's "Albatross One" concept plane with flexible folding wings 4+ years ago. But to this day the company still hasn't introduced them on the a321. I think the explanation is just GREED: they aren't innovating cz they know airlines will continue to buy this old a320 since no other competitive alternative is present in the market rn.

The A320 is a beautiful plane. I'd love to fly one of these someday!

@George Hartfield I've flown on several United Airlines A320s and A319s. The only issue is leg room in economy which is typical. Beyond that, they're fine aircraft and I like them.

Most airlines change the seat positions to make more seats, i.e. make more *kaching* by squeezing in more passengers. This is also the reason why seats don't line up with Windows sometimes. That's just the airline trying to make 💰

Even though I LIVE across the water from Boeings final assembly line in Everett, WA, I have always been fascinated by how both Airbus and Boeing build their aircraft. Thanks Airbus for giving us these GREAT birds! But one thing I do ask, WHY IS THERE A BIG RIVALRY BETWEEN THE TWO?! I subbed.

@cruxader27 I don't know how correct the article is, but Wikipedia states 'about eight months'. That must however be from when the first nut and screw is made (to order), since eight months at assembly would require magnitudes larger production facilities. Maybe ~14 days on assembly? Also note that some items are 'long lead', i.e. they are ordered years ahead of production and in bulk before the a/c is sold. It's perhaps a slightly more complex question than you realized. :)

actually how long does it take for one A320 to build? i know there are thousands of orders from them..

cruxader27 It is said that Airbus produces about more than 50 A320s a month. That is more than one airplane per day.

Abhijit Kashyap that doesn’t say how long one needs to build, they don’t need just one day for one aircraft

I don´t think that you can compare even a deep simulated A 320 on your PC with a real one. I made a flight in a big Airbus simulator from an airline which is pretty close to the original. That experience was incomparable to my PC simulation. It´s like watching Formula one on TV and driving a real F1 race. :-)
