- This was a surprise 14 months in the making. For years, we've been promising our older kids that we'd go to Disney World, and for years, they've been disappointed. (A side note: The version of "When you wish upon a star" at the end is off of a Disney Lullaby CD that I used to play to rock Pete to sleep when he was a baby. I know that's sappy, but it makes me happy.) One more thing: on other posted versions of this video, people incorrectly seem to think that our kids are spoiled because of their reaction. The fact is, they had NEVER BEEN anywhere like that and had no idea what to expect or how to respond. If we did the same thing today, they'd go nuts, I guarantee you. They were incredibly grateful and thankful for the vacation. The bottom line is, kids are unpredictable and you never know what they're going to do or say.

This was the sweetest thing I have ever seen. Disney has a special place in our families heart but to see how you planned this surprise for your family and how beautiful you all are, it made me cry!!
Thank you so much, Jen. People are so cynical about Disney and that's sad. It meant a lot for our family to be able to go and experience it all TOGETHER and create those memories. Expensive? Yep. Long lines? Yep. Worth it? Absolutely.
Such a lovely video! We just got back from WDW (our 8th time) with our two teenagers (17 and 14), and every time feels like the first time. I'm so happy that you had such a happy and magical time!

This video was (amazingly) picked up by Inside Edition and posted on their UA-cam channel, and you wouldn't believe the negative, straight-up insulting comments that people have posted. It's unbelievable and sad. In spite of the incredible cynicism people have toward Disney World, I believe that the place is indeed magical and that Walt Disney himself intended it to be about nothing but happiness, long lines and hot weather notwithstanding. Frankly, I can't wait to go back.
@Mark Johnson Wait. I don't believe that. U mean people ACTUALLY made negative comments about you guys taking ur 3 babies to Disney World? I don't know what is WRONG with people! I'm in my 40's and I wish I had gone to Disney WITH your family! It TRULY is my favorite place to be!!! Forget people with their negativity! They are just jealous!

You and I have the same son! Wyatt age 8 was devastated we were going to Disney instead of the zoo as planned.... Not to mention Wyatt loves the color green and minecraft! I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone! Great visit, kudos to an epic surprise for sure :)

+Jorge857 Thanks a bunch for your comment, Jorge! I appreciate your kind words about our kids. Yep, Pete had an awesome time. By the time we got to the airport, he was getting excited. He just didn't have any notion of what Disney World was, so he didn't really know how to react. These days, he's CONSTANTLY asking me when we're going back there! You and your girlfriend will have a blast. Ride the Haunted Mansion once for me!

+Jorge857 Yes, we did the dining plan. My wife did the budgeting, so I'm not sure what we spent per day, but when you've got three kids, just having it all taken care of in advance is worth a ton. One of the best things was simply not having to worry about meals all week!

Drownded Goldfish, yes, we've been to Gatlinburg once. That was our only other vacation. It was great!

Yeah, it was kind of fun until people began commenting negatively, which just blew my mind. Just goes to show you that even a joyous family trip to Disney can be a target for trolls. It's the world we live in now.
