BTW It does exist as a mod for Spintires, look for M62 locomotive.
As for the real thing, it was made around 2003/2004. No one really knows why as it's a kind of Russian Army secret, but people assume that they planned to use it as a mobile massive electricity generator - usually generators the size of a locomotive need to be carried by helicopter as they are too heavy to be carried through rough terrains even on a Soviet 18-wheeler :p

turn off diff lock on tracked vehicles. they are skid-steer. one side of the tires takes power and the other doesn't. diff locks prevents that from happening

Install your damn mods correctly if your tracks aren't there
For me they turn just fine, I even used the same vehicles as shown in the mod, you just need to install them properly.

The train has a special map that comes with it with tracks that let's you drive so it is useful because it carries fuel parts and things on the special map

I remember having fun with crawlers in the original. I have stayed away from them so far in Mudrunner.
They were quite useful for dragging other vehicles out of the mud.
Tracked vehicles need to be supported in-game, they’d be so much fun to drive around in.

huh, i had no issues whatsoever with em. bad install maybe? i know atleast that one of the vehicles you tried to turn you turn off diflock otherwise it only goes forward.

Not useless just not used right... the correct way to use them is as air bags for a k700 about crash from the swerves from the high way

That car before # 5 is fairly good for crazing around the woods on hard ground. I cleared all the watch points on map with it. just gotta avoid mud lol

Oh man mods such as the train and santa claus are made for fun. Nothing to take seriously, but good video.
If you drive the blue car up and down the paved road for a certain distance you get an achievment, that's all it's there for.
I think theres also a mission with it?
vehicles with treads need the dif lock deactived... its impossible break 1 side of treads with the dif lock on >.>

This is insane offroading in a Lamborghini aventador.
I actually wouldn’t mind using the Zaz 968m, it’s not ideal for mud so it would be fun to be a clueless driver not knowing where I am. The other mods I wouldn’t even give a shot, they seem just that bad. Tanks for the info!
They can turn if you turn off the diff lock bc they turn by stopping one side of the track and use the other to turn

how does the sled do in the winter scene mod?
For treads vehicle u need spintires plus l, it looks like u have it, but to turn u need to deactivate the differential , because differential will make the wheel in our case the treads to move simultaneously to turn with a tread vehicle one tread need to be stopped and the to move. I think u got it.
Which makes it even more silly you even put 'tracked vehicles' as a group on the list. Yes, they need ST+.exe in order to work, and that's also mentioned in pretty much every description of mods which need it. It's like you're reviewing a vehicle without wheels, and mention you have to install wheels. Then you proceed to say it sucks because it can't turn or drive well, whilst showcasing how you didn't install wheels.
I am aware that ST+ versions don't always work, and I'd love it if the base game would support tracks, even if it's just because they tend to break here and there, requiring a vehicle reset via dev tools. However, reviewing a mod without the required tools, and then highlighting the parts which don't work is just stupid.

Vehicles with treads are very usefull. They can turn, they have good traction in mud, i think their better than normal trucks
SD1ONE It's not a "hack". You have to just install two DLL files, one folder and one text file.

I've heard of Mudrunner USA dlc, I just heard another youtube say that they was also looking into console mods as well.
I mean console mods has happened before, Betheda has PS4/XBOX1 console mods on Fallout 4. So it's not like it could't happen.
Yea spintires is a smaller team. I just used Betheda as a example that mods was possible, that's all.

Treads is something that the developer should input
in order to turn, if i remember correctly you have to turn off diff lock
Sooooo let me get this straight the Bethesda-Obsidian equivalent of SpinTires makes a Sequel with a HUGE EXPANSION along with it and then add Mods for Consoles (Seeing as it's a Console SpinTires) and they spent SO MUCH TIME ON IT.........and then people make Australian Transits and Santa Sleighs.
Regarding the CS2 locomotive, I agree that there is nothing worse than that mod

So the track vehicles don't work cause you have not installed the mod correctly? well, maybe install the spintiresmod.exe or whatever, like its intended to be used?(probably says that where you downloaded the mods)

The Santa Sleigh used to be hugely OP in the original Spintires
Used to have crazy appoints of damage points and fuel points, what seemed like infinite grip, never drowns, basically the complete opposite. Kinda like the 85 K5 Blazer mod is now
