I own one just like in the test. My wife has one with "high country" camo pattern. By my examination of the IIIA panel, it looks like it covers the whole back of the unit. Of course, it is rated for most pistol rounds, not rifle. It should stop a 22LR from a long gun. Literature reports that it was shot 5 times with .44 Mag SWCGC, 240gr. at 16.5 ft.( 10 inch barrel). Also 5 shots with 9mm Luger FMJ, 124 gr., 4.5 inch barrel. Measured velocity for both rounds were over 1400 fps. I have not yet been shot with one of these on me.

why will no one give the dimensions of the IIIA panel? is it the same as the dimension of the backpack itself?

How would it do about with a shooter with AR-15

Level IIIA armor will not stop rifle rounds.

Not well, its not rated for rifles.
