For that Round Kick Nick you don't need to lift the heel, just remember to pivot (turn) your front foot and hit with the shin on your back leg then you kick. You want to act like you're trying to kick the target in half, so use your hips when you kick and connect with the shin part of your leg, not the foot. Any part of the shin is fine, as long as it's the front of the shin not the side. That's one way of doing it anyway.

Yeah I'm in my later 50's but I can do a Spartan kick to the solar plexus no problem, good kick! Love that uppercut you showed too.
