I love my Switch, really I do, but the reason why I always prefered old games on the Game Boy to modern games is precisely because of the archaic graphics: since the graphics weren't as detailed as they are today, your imagination had to fill in the blanks. As a result, the games just felt more alive in my head at the time. It's like when you read a book before watching the movie: you mold the universe to your own liking.
Having gone back and playing a lot of the older NES/GB games, I'd like to add that their simplicity and shorter time is also an overlooked benefit. Especially getting older and not having as much time, it's great to just turn on a game and play it for 45 minutes. Especially to wind down before sleep.
If this were a real GB game being released today I would still buy it in a heartbeat even though the GB is pretty much a "dead" system for more than 20 years by now. It doesn't change the fact that its' games are fun and Kirby games being among the best of them. So, yes, "Kirby and the Forgotten Lands" for the Nintendo Gameboy? Yes, please!!!! Oh, and I like the cover a lot. Heheh.
I like how it was spelled "TLIPLE DELUXE". I feel slightly smarter when I remember that Japan uses Ru for a letter that other languages use, so trying to reverse it results in L appearing in incorrect places. It's only funny because we make more mistakes. Beautiful language, though.
I swear, we need to get new games and show people living in the 1990s. Oh yeah and we aren’t showing the pre-undertale fanbase anything (even though I was apart of it.)
