I have a new drwaing with lots and surface. QTO does not pop-up. Also in Settings - Pressure network does not show. I need to add FH and it is not on the parts list available. The tees show a sigle live versus the valves which show the whole 3d geometry. Could you help me? I use version 2024
Great video! After creating the pipe run from the alignment, how would you add additional HZ PI's to deflect around structures etc., especially around a long curved part of the alignment? I've tried editing the alignment, but it dissassociates it from the pipe networt and the pipe parts. Thanks
Is there a recommended maximum length for a pipe run? I have 11 miles of 16" water transmission line. Would it be an advantage to break it into multiple runs of say 10,000'?
Excellent presentation. Can you create content to show us how to achieve this video reference? (Utility Part-10 Draw Pressure Pipe Pump Station Or lift Station)
man, this is a livesaver, 5 months into my new work, and i just realised i don't have to draw pipe, create profile, create surface and adjust surface then create a poly line at wanted depth, and move the pipe accordingly xD Did you have something on gravity pipes aswell? and/or best practices for SSA?
How is the pressure pipe network working for you? What are the issues or problems that you've encountered? I've never worked with pressure pipes and the companies i've worked for have avoided using pressure pipes, still don't know the actual reason why.
Alan - when I use the 'pipe run profile' tool and create a profile, I do not have the ability to edit the pipes in the profile view (no grips available). The only grips that appear are located in the center of each run and only give me the option to curve the pipe. Any idea why this is happening?
I'm new to pipe runs and had the same problem. My issue was that I wasn't using the pipe run alignment for the profile. I had a separate alignment that I was using for the profile and added the water pipe to it. So then I created a profile from the pipe run alignment for the sole purpose of adjusting the pipe and fittings elevations. There should be a line running across the top of the pipe with grips that you can bring up and down - and of course it updates in my other profile that I want to use for my plan sheets. Hope that helps.
@@nondas3549 Since utilities are mostly built along the road, the only time I would create an alignment that goes at the top of the pipe would be when it's too far from the road alignment.
Hi Alan, nowhere does it allow you to specify a layer or start station for a pipe run. We don't want any of our alignments to start at 0+00. If you create an alignment first, and then create a pipe run from an object (the alignment), then you end up with 2 alignments.
Has anyone tried breaking and merging a pipe run to make an intermediate adjustment? (e.g. adding/removing an elbow) I've been having trouble merging the pipe runs back together. Any suggestions?
Correct, this video was not intended to be comprehensive of a design scenario. I will say however, in my experience, field conditions have overridden many if not most of any design checking I've done (for distribution size piping). Not saying it isn't important, just my 2 cents :-).
After completion pipe runs and profile views if I close file and reopen after some time my pipe run alignment automatically goes in miscellaneous alignments, How can I prevent this and keeping alignment same please suggest me

Also looking for an answer on this.

No vídeo for first drawing or pipe plan?

Once the pipe run is created, you can edit the stationing, just like any other alignment.

Where can I get the allowable deflexion for HDPE?
I would check with the manufacturer.
You didnt do any design checking, and how you edit and fix the runs for the drop down/bends when they exceed the deflection

Select the alignment, select "Alignment Properties" and change the type.
That blue linework on a black background is really difficult to see.
