SkookS is an absolute classic, but for whatever reason the Mockingbird YTP was the most quoted Orpheus creation amongst my mates. Gonna throw a vote in for Krobo's Fesh Pince though. THE most quotable YTP I've seen yet.

Honestly though, Skooks is what made me want to host those Collabs, because they are just that influential in the community and even outside of it. I could never hope to outdo those videos but I wanted to try and carry that legacy Orpheus established. Great video, hope to see more YTP retrospectives from you.
HourofPoop's ytp 'friar's rubbing wood: the fall of nottingham' is almost entirely masking mastery and buttery smooth sentence mixing with a solid plot. It feels a little bit like if Orpheus' style continued evolving and tightening up. If I have to choose one video to show someone who's never even heard of youtube poops, I pick this one. Also, honorable mentions to DaThings1 who started the beautiful trend of including subtitles on their ytps, and who does excellent work in general to this day. Regular mentions to Avojaifnot who basically condensed chaos and delivers jokes at a breakneck speed, and also to madanonymous who goes deep into the surreal and abstract with their complex animated additions. And Danfango700's 'small horse friends are good' will forever be in my heart, because it's in my opinion the best mlp ytp, and endlessly quotable. (a beautiful heart- cleans hard to reach areas!)
Orpheusftw definitely wasn't the first YTP creator to make linear YTPs, but he was absolutely ahead of his time with the editing style. You mention how Harold Trotter was the most notable Poop to be of that quality, though I would argue creators like MoBrosStudios, Combuskenisawesome, and especially Geibuchan would continue that legacy as early as 2012 and 2013. Hell, if you do continue this series, I think Geibuchan especially is worth covering, having been another huge influence from all the way back in 2008, and still being around today to make YTPs and such.

I just recently did and that is how I found this. A good year late but still glad I found this. Thanks. Skooks was the best made for it's time for sure.

Have you seen any of the King of The Hill YTPs?? Some of my favorite include OrpheousFTW (made Skooks) Krobos (Fesh Pince) and hankster hillington. Breaking Bwah'd is probably my favorite YTP, it's a full and complete story. DurhamRockerz is another great one.
I went to church growing up and my favorite part of it was going into a hardly used stairwell to watch ytp's with a couple of friends. Skooks was among the best ones I remember. Good times

I'm really sad that Orpheus stopped making YTPs. His were so good that they raised the standards of everyone around him. I saw him posting on a piece of news lately which was really surreal. I had to stop myself from begging him to come back.

I suppose I'm a late generation poop enjoyer, but alpacahalk was at least my gateway. now I like dumb repetitive jokes. alpacahawk even misled me into believing that ytp wasn't about sex jokes and gross out humour. a standout line is 'it was at this moment he knew. he stuffed up' from aperture science sells faulty products, because it sounded so smooth to me that it made me think that it was the original line. nowadays my fav is probably cs188.
Ah yes YTP series.. perfect.. I love this deepdive already... but.. can I say this? THAT END RACISM JOKE. Perfecto. No really.. I laughed. And loved how it was done. The transition to it was great, the button and staring joke perfection! Also love the background!

One could make the case of the "ytp [subject]" sorta-series as being a reaction against the rising proficiency and skill in video editing online. What's also interesting is how some of the ytps ditch some of the trappings and the sloppy editing reveal to be cold and dissociative. Or crib from shaliek's twitter thread/posts and talk about radock/"no more videos baby", and how short and punchy their videos are. Still think about how often they had some of the most 'tasteful' music cues ever. A decent chunk of their YTPs were also sampled frequently on the internet-themed vaporwave album "social justice whatever" on 2017 (though people consider the releases before and after it to be better in execution) Both creators have had copycats of varying quality but I'm doing some stuff so to keep it short: There are definitely some creators that have something additional going on, and it's cool to know people more capable of elaborating on this. I was wondering if anyone ever bothered to do a critical analysis of YTPs as an art form. Glad to see someone's taken up that mantle. If you haven't done it yet, you should do an analysis about why Dr. Robotnik from Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog is a timeless source.

When I hear that term I think of the word that people said all the time as a 90s kid, retarded, not the N-word. You should definitely cover CS188 or DaThings next, as they are some of only a few YTPers that started before 2010 and are still going. Noisepuppet as well.
I can't believe we're taking this "guy-in-his-mother's-basement stuff" so seriously. Not like it's a big budget art movie with original material and effort. I liked the stuff when it wasn't hateful, but it was never meant to be as big as you think it actually is.
