    Good commentary on the current situation. This is the first moc in a while I became frustrated with floor 12. The biggest reason I play these kinds of games is I enjoy the feeling of my characters and teams getting stronger as I put investment into them. But if I farm relics for weeks to get a little more crit rate and crit damage only to find my character feels weaker in the next MoC, it really discourages me from wanting to play

    right now what i really miss are those experimental, gimmicky battle events that emphasize the puzzle aspect. i know they're not everyone's cup of tea but they don't just provide feedback for developers, they facilitate the kind of problem-solving you talked about in this video. aetherium wars kind of stumbled at the end by being able to assemble an obviously OP team, but i liked that it put everyone on a level playing field by flat-out not using player-built characters. i want to feel like i can play around again instead of using the same boring teams for everything!

      They'll be back when the devs want to test more mechanics I'm sure. We technically just had the wardance also, introducing grit mechanics. I bet Stellar Flare or a similar event shows up again by the time the anniversary comes

    I think it's fine for them to inflate the HP of some encounters to force the players to play around the enemy mechanics a bit more but most of the inflation is thoughtless.
    Increasing True Sting's HP is fine since you just need to kill more bugs for more damage but enemies that can stall the fight like Svarog and especially Aventurine have no business having that much HP.

      @@ScaryYokai I think anyone that has aoe attack works as long as you can get the amount of hits in time but you still need enough dps for the dps check of that massive amount of HP.
      i managed to 4-3 star the apocalypse version with Firefly, Fugue and Ruan Mei. But they are still tanky as heck.

      They don't need to increase hp to make you engage with enemy mechanics though they already have mechanics in Apocalyptic Shadow to reduce dmg taken or lock weaknesses so you have to do something before doing any signficant dmg to the enemy. Theres zero need to keep pushing that hp bar up but to make old dps worse even if they could counter the enemy mechanics.

      + early blatant powercrept on limited 5* e.g Sunday to Sparkle is freaking awful, I don't even like her - I just pulled bc she's bis support for DHIL, now that E0S1 Sunday's better than Sparkle even with her Eidolon I never felt this scammed - I demand refund or ain't gonna spend my money for this game anymore.

    It's only because of timers, that the Powercreep narration is even stronger than it's supposed to be.
    Memory of Chaos, Pure Fiction, Apocalyptic Shadow, even Simulated Universe variants, they all have their own timers (for SU specifically, it's Berserk timer). I truly wish we had non-timer gamemodes (just like ZZZ's Hollow Zero, Lost Void, and Shiyu Defense Disputed Node), but of course with extra challenges, maybe with Action Bar being disabled for example. Hell, I don't mind if the HP is inflated specifically for such gamemodes.

      A really fun idea would be a "survival mode" where you are able to bring a healer / tank team to see how many waves / damage you can take before dying.

    Completely agreed, It is lazy game design in the guise of "challenge". There are plenty of turn based games out there that nailed the formula. Honkai on the other hand feels like blatant powercreep

      Nah like the only thing affecting the games are the revenues. If those numbers keep going up after every banner they have 0 reasons to cater to a small percentage of the players voices regarding seasonal endgames

    Another video has pointed out that one of the reason HP inflation is so harsh vs other Hoyo games because of how HSR units are so bloated and do too much. Why do you think that even older units are feeling so shit? Why do you think even if Hu Tao was powercrept by Mavuika/Arlecchino still clears abyss 12 for example? Meanwhile, we have DHIL/Jingliu/Blade being thrown into the trash and falling off of relevancy and we have the likes of Lingsha, Jade, Robin and the upcoming ones like The Herta doing so much damage that its not even funny.
    Yes, turn-based games is like puzzle-solving, but there's also the fact that turn-based games are so linear, it doesn't take long for anyone to just overlap what they do to other units. What happened to Nihility functioning as Debuffers? Harmony as a Buffer to the team (or just one carry), or Destruction being a bruiser type where they can take a hit and deal massive dmg? What happened to the the Hunt units that was supposed to decimate any single target but now is even failing hard to kill just one elite enemy unit?
    To think that this is the widely-praised game of Hoyo games only to massively gut everyone just because they can't even clear the content due to how harsh powercreep is in this game. Shame really.

      You can introduce new mechanic without giving them too much power you know. For example, since Firefly is so easy to use compared to Boothil, they can just... Reduce the multiplier? That way, we would have more diversity in gameplay. Those who choose hard mechanic but greatly rewarded when the stars align perfectfully or easy mechanic that everyone could use but is slower.
      I was about to compare it to FGO, but that game barely have new mechanic every new characters release. But at least a first-year character that are still competing with characters from 10th years should tell you much how they keep the balance

      @@nerox118 The problem is that they can't sell the characters if their kits aren't impressive. HSR players don't care about waifus or husbandos as much as Genshin players. As a result, when a character is released that doesn't meet expectations, players will skip them without hesitation, which is bad for Hoyoverse.

    I truly envy ppl who plays just for fun, summon the characters you want and just enjoy the story. I’m at that point where I want to quit but due to the amount of money I spent, I’m like I force myself to spend monthly pass and BP due to the fact that I have a fomo that wants me to clear out all endgame perfectly. Right now I challenge myself not to summon and prob try only monthly pass until the fate collab (still coping). I know I might not get the best result cause I know the 3.0 characters are going to be a huge changer to the upcoming multiple ene games. 😅

    Not to mention that apparently new DPS in 3.1 will have 30k HP, that means enemies will be balanced around that number so your current characters with 5k HP will likely be killed in one hit if you don't have a shielder like Aventurine.

      Oh yes famous aventurine how i got this signature and 5k def with decent crits. Not only he is do not do any dmg he is a shitty shielder. I have to reapply shield every other turn because his passive doesnt do much, so i loose AP or a team member. I also believe he is gonna be powercrept as well, reason? Why not😹

      His A3 Bonus Ability Bingo! is currently bugged so his performance during all of 2.7 is a huge nerfed version of himself. If you are talking abt his performance outside of 2.7, it is just blatant skill issue.I have 4k def with destiny 4* lc and I have never used his skill in all 3 endgame modes even in 2.7 against 1st side.
      About powercreep:
      -It would be hard to powercreep him unless hoyo just shills out a shielder which can either
      shit out so much shield that aventurine gets absolutely bodied.
      or
      shit out so much dmg and gives enough shield .
      or
      just become a full harmony while being a "sustain".
      Hoyo could also just put all 3 in the character cuz why not.

    hoyo should take example from Reverse 1999 and introduce an "Euphoria" system where players can improve old characters kits to balance the powercreep.
    This makes a huge a difference, Reverse players pulls old characters as they are relevant again. it's so much healthier.

    God yeah I hate the HP inflation. I think instead they can try some weirder fun mechanics, like a tiny amount of cleanse, action value manipulation, enemy summon or ult mechanics, or a meter whenever that charges whenever they take a hit (almost like a FUA / superbreak counter where DoT or big destruction moves might be handy instead).
    I dunno I get that they have to add new things constantly, but damn

    Great analysis as always, I like the moc with the trotters doing the work to damage the enemy, I sure hope Hoyo focuses more on how you play the game than the characters you have to beat end game content.

    I just watched and it's a great commentary actually. Even Brax - a well-known CC who actually LOVES HSR - has started complaining about the issue of powercreep and HP inflation. It's so bad there might be a point where even the latest DPS with their BiS team won't be able to clear.
    HP inflation is really a bad thing even though it's also an occasional necessary evil especially for turn-based games like this one. But it's not without cause - and the likely cause is the 0-cyclers. While it affects Pure Fiction and Apocalyptic Shadow too, things aren't as bad there compared to in MOC because:
    - In Pure Fiction, you can get A LOT of points from just obliterating the low HP mobs; no need to kill the boss to get 3*. Mobs constantly respawn making 0-cycling impossible.
    - In Apocalyptic Shadow, damage is always negligible until the boss is Weakness Broken. Conversely, damage is amplified when the boss is Broken.
    Unfortunately, there is nothing to deter 0-cyclers. It's unlike the story bosses:
    - Aventurine discourages the player from bringing in Harmony characters because when you enter the Gamble Phase, your team members must individually hit as many dice as they can, which your Harmony characters CANNOT (most of the time).
    - Sunday incentivizes the player to bring Superbreak comps (HMC is even provided in the story fight) because breaking his toughness bar provides a shield that protects your characters from getting KO'd.
    Zero cyclers enjoy the feeling of clearing MOC as fast as possible but inevitably created a problem: bosses can't use their OWN tricks to add to the challenge. And zero cyclers apply to ALL TEAM ARCHETYPES. The HP inflation seems more likely to be a no-choice situation to deter zero-cyclers, sacrificing the satisfaction of endgame F2P players because HP inflation is the "only" intervention HOYO can give that affects all teams regardless of archetypes. Hoyo seems to be waiting for (1) enough people to demand they dial back the HP inflation or (2) enough HP that even the most "meta" team can't 3* the current MOC.
    If the problem was only limited to a few archetypes there would be mechanics that should affect only those archetypes without affecting the others:
    1. FUA:
    - All out-of-turn DMG is set to 1.
    - Enemies gain [Dodge] stacks based on how many times a team member attacks them. When [Dodge] reaches a certain number of stacks, they won't receive damage from that character.
    2. DOT/Debuffs:
    - Enemies' Effect RES is drastically increased.
    - Turbulence: Characters' EHR is drastically increased. When a character unleashes their Ult, detonates x stacks of DOT.
    3. Break
    - Perpetually lock enemies' Toughness Bar. Toughness Bar can only be broken through other means.
    While Hoyo should reasonably promote the latest unit, HP inflation actually DETERS players from pulling the new unit and is actually counterintuitive, considering how fast the meta evolves in HSR. HP inflation actually DE-incentivizes players from putting effort in building characters and causes them to regret pulling for whom they ACTUALLY love.
    How ironic that Genshin suffers from endgame being too easy while HSR suffers from endgame being too hard.

    just make a nightmare mode for whale players with e6 with no rewards, only rankings, and normal mode with easier clear for normal and f2p players who just wanted to play casually for stellar jades, this way everyone wins.

    Just used preservation March 7th for floor 11 cause the fking soulglad gorilla is a pain in the ass
    I truly hope for more preservation characters since the game said "no Aventurine? Fk u" an imaginary shielder that buffs debuffs and has followup atk like what else can we give to the guy?!

      It always has to do with the rotation buffs and available supports. I would save the powercreep talk at least until after 4 stars are unable to clear the content, let alone older limited units, because right now that's just silly talk.

      @@ArseneaLupin That's the thing, as long as older units can clear it powercreep doesn't exist. It's a grave balance issue that causes loss of value to something you already invested in for being unable to clear content, and that's simple not the case.

      @@ArseneaLupin Why would you ignore what the balance team is going out of their way to do by just arbitrarily deciding it can't be different based on unrelated games? This makes no sense.
      The way they sell is making upgrades worth everyone's money instead of releasing replacements, this is why there's so much talk around vertical investment. The pity system is the only predatory part that is untouched from their monetization structure, which doesn't cause further problems when it comes to units losing value or the game state.

    Hoyo just stinks at making hard content. It's actually concerning how they've been around this long yet never learn a thing from their experience. It makes me question whether or not the devs at this company even knows how to do anything out of the norm. They basically just script dialogue and change numbers. Most new char kits are unoriginal and boring now. Dot is completely abandoned. The newer MoC mobs can now randomly do 50% of ur HP while inflicting a dot on you that kills u in 2 turns. I can't even 0 cycle in peace without risking getting deleted instantly at random. It makes the experience even more frustrating than it already is. They are just bad at making good end game content.

    I just now realized that you did the same number of turns with almost the same team I have (BS instead of Jiaoqiu).
    Me. A complete buffoon when it comes to HSR speed tune and forward manipulation.
    I have seen so many videos absolutely destroying this MoC that I thought I was the problem. Maybe I should have pulled Jiaoqiu... maybe I should have whaled and get eidolons...
    Nope. I was gaslighting myself.
    Fuck this. I might start ignoring endgame again. I won't spend a penny anymore in this game until they fix this crap.

    Yep... The new HSR is kinda boring for me, I miss the old HSR.. when I clear MOC using Serval, Sushang n Pshycal MC carry the MoC with the break effect sets, uhh the satisfaction I feel is very high...
    But the new MoC is feels like a "clear it for the gems = more gacha"

      @@sodiqolafuyi1118 I mean early game was also more fun because 1.0 was a lot less archetype focused and just released good units. So we were building teams according to the stages and enemy lineups. Nowadays we're literally just dialing meta teams with one flex slot (if not playing break, otherwise, that slot doesn't even exist), which kind of feels like a step down.

    since i don't really play the end game content hp inflation is something i don't really care too much about i'm more of a log-in do dailies and events and then log-out after finishing the main story but also coming form a game were one of the many complaints was how easy the end game was(genshin impact) it does interest me on how another game of there's has hp inflation problems considering i haven't really see anyone complaining on how easy the end game was even before the whole hp inflation thing happened

      I haven’t gotten around to endgame genshin content. I’ve only touched it to get the free characters lol. And imaginarium (idk how to spell) theater always looks complicated lol

      It all a matter of execution. Finding the right balance of challenging but not over doing it so the act of building and investing in character feels worthwhile. Too easy or too hard and it will make the feeling of building and further investing in character you like feel worthless. HYV hasn't really struck that balance hence the complaints across games.

    Back when they first introduced the Swarm Disaster, I remember one of the devs mentioning that they increased the difficulty because they saw survey feedback saying the game was too easy. I guess that’s why they’ve been increasing HP ever since.

      Except you would. You just shift the focus from 'who has the highest multipliers' to 'who can deal the most instances of damage'. Damage cap doesn't matter if you can just go from deaaling 9999 damage five times to dealing 9999 damage seven times.

    I might just skip the hardest difficulty from now on. Even on Genshin Abyss tower, the last floor dragged out bullet sponge fights are simply not fun. Also there are 3 different endgame modes in HSR, so everyone might not have roster to clear PF, MOC and Apocalyptic Shadow at the same time. Players who pull for specialized units for those modes will be rewarded.

    I think the game would be a lot healthy if Boss hit so hard that it would require you to bring a tank and a healer.
    If the game was balanced with 1 tank 1 healer and 2 flex picks, I think they could even open up the possibility of 3 sides to the higher floors

      This ain't moba, believe me when I say that would not feel good on practice. Spending pulls for surviving is not the play, having the enemy be strong enough to make single sustain sweat is a good choice.

    I think your video is interesting. It's concise and to the point, so I praise you for it. I do have a few comments about it though.
    First, I will praise you for being one of the very few people who understands that adding mechanics to enemies does not make HP increase disappear. Many CC do that, and I think it's stupid that it's even an idea one can give. HP inflation, as people like to call it, is not something adding mechanics can solve, because to a certain degree, HP controls the mechanics. An enemy mechanics is pointless if it's not on the field anymore.
    Second. While I agree that a huge portion of a turn based game is the puzzle solving aspect, the way you have it pictured is incomplete. Understand that HSR is a turn-based gacha game. A huge portion of the game is the character collection aspect, or rather, roster filling aspect. Having a lot of characters is nice, but it is far more important for one to have a good selection of useful characters that preferably are able to work together. This is what META should encompass. At the core, in a game like HSR, the more characters you have the better, because you can always solve more puzzles with more room to work. However, there is a problem with this method, and that leads me to my third point.
    Third, while a large portion of the game is character collection, a larger portion is the resource management. In addition to lacking the jades required to pull as many characters as you want, the most limited resource in the game is trailblaze energy. Trailblaze energy ties to a lot of aspect to the game, mainly character and LC leveling, trace leveling and relic obtainment. You notice how these 2 issues are actually very linked. If you pull a lot of characters, the amount of trailblaze energy you get to spend on each character grows thinner. Since players are most likely going to max out their characters' level and LC level, this will lead to a huge dent into their trace and relic quality. That's just how it is.
    But... as you can see, there is a very easy solution to that problem. By getting characters, or even getting character dupes, you leave a lot more trailblaze energy to make a significant improvement in trace and relic quality per character. That is how a smart player should play the game, and how it should be played as a F2P or low spender. This method has a tendency to lead players to pull a lot less characters, which necessarily lead to them having a lot more jades saved up for when they need it for pulling a newer, stronger character.
    I believe that many of the HP inflation complaints tend to source from poor planning, execution and investment. A smart investment player would realise that, HP inflation doesn't matter when you can still clear content, and whenever you reach the point where you can't, you will always have enough jades to make sure you can. So what if it takes one more cycle from last patch to this patch? If one starts from 0 cycling, it will take 5~6 patches to where you can't clear content, and by then, you would have 5~6 patches worth of jades (approximately 400 pulls not counting starlight) to make it so that you can.

    Like what sort of new mechanics tho,
    barriers/buffs that get dispelled based on number of damage instances rather than actual damage dealt?
    counter/berserk modes that activate if you do more than 30% of the hp bar at once,
    "crit defense" buffs that need to be dispelled or worked around via break/dot/non-traditional dps,
    Enemies that perform a counter action when you use too many buffs like caamazotz from fgo?
    Enemies that swap hp percentages under certain circumstances with one having low hp but insane def and the other being a high hp bruiser?
    Enemies that respond favorably if your team is healed by X amount not counting overhealing thus necessitating self damage or purposefully triggering enemy counter attacks to be healed up? Imposter enemies that pretend to be one of your party members and thus receive healing and buffs meant for your team,
    Enemies whose damage goes up inverse to your energy percentage, dealing less to max energy making you want to hold your ults(combine with energy draining enemies like the tv faces maybe)
    ...I kinda went overboard on Ideas, but yeah overall I agree that hp inflation is not the way, as it is I'm considering skipping pulling until a unit that does hp percentage damage (as in does like 5% of enemies max hp as dmg+ base dmg sorta like that super freeze stuff from the SU) comes out

      A lot of these ideas are just restrictive gameplay mechanics that basically don’t let you (or at the least, discourage you from choosing) play half your roster. It’s not HP inflation, but it’s still not fun either. Maybe it would be interesting in Sim Uni or those Battle Events where you have access to Trial Characters, but I’d rather not have them in endgame
      Stuff based on damage instances just mean that teams with less damage instances become less viable.
      That berserk mechanic punishes burst based DPS
      Enemies that punish you from buffing just punish Harmony units and force Nihility units to be slotted in
      Though I wouldn’t be surprised if HSR implemented some of these, they have been implementing a lot of restrictive enemy mechanics lately. Enemies who have a Safeguard when Unbroken (which is everything in Apoc Shadow) make DOT unviable unless there’s a specific buff since DOT teams want enemies to take actions often, which they can’t do when they’re broken. Hoolay has a mechanic that makes him do an additional attack if you don’t attack him enough times, which is something that FUA teams don’t need to worry about

    I'm a bit of an outlier apparently but I'll share my thoughts. I did want March's outfit but not anymore, I only ever use Hunt March, and I also use mods now so skins are an actual waste of money. As for endgame / HP inflation, I don't play MOC, but when I play pure fiction or apoc shadow, I get my but kicked, even with full break teams so I just end up doing dailies and then playing a different game.

    I always wondered what you thought on the current situation happening in HSR and I agree with all your points, especially the HP infaltion one. Eventhough I don't always 36 stars the MOC, this might be the first time I don't wanna do a run at MOC for a while now. Usually I do a couple of runs, finding ways to at leat get 2 strs at floor 12. But, because of the massive HP inflation, I've decided to take a break for a while. Seeing leaks of future enemies with some unique mechanics, I'm afraid that Hoyo will just continue to inflate HP unless they themselves decided not to do that. Especially if some of the enemies are geared towards a specific unit or path to some how defeat it (*cough* The Herta and Agles *cough*)

    Hoyoverse is starting to look lazy with their content design. HP inflation feels like a quick fix without considering the player experience. Instead of forcing us to focus solely on DPS, why not create mechanics that are actually fun and challenging? The free outfit is nice, but giving it to a character that’s barely relevant in the endgame? Feels like a half-hearted gift.

      Meanwhile Genshin is about to hand out a free outfit for Xiangling, who has been consistently meta relevant since 1.0. And has done the same for Xingqiu and Fischl, who are in the same boat.
      But their first free outfit was for Barbara, who is even worse than Preservation March ever was. So in time maybe we'll get free outfits for actually relevant 4* characters, like Tingyun or Gallagher.

    Switch characters in the same fight. Switch enemies in the same fight. Put scaling and extra damage if you hit the enemy weaknesses (like Xueyi). Characters that benefit from 0 skill points (Misha). I mean... There are many ways to fix their powercreep...

    The HP inflation is such a pain but it is still possible to 0 cycle svarog with fei robin bronya march even without limited eidolons (except e2 bronya)

    TBH almost every video complains about "why cant I kill a boss in 0-2 turns anymore" They may not say it out right but thats pretty much most of the argument. I have cleared every single content in the game, and thats with Yunli being the only limited DPS character I own now. The game is...pretty dang easy compared to actual other single player games. You say that the game is a puzzle to solve but with bosses that are already in the game and move sets the puzzle has already been solved many times. So the only thing you CAN do is increase the puzzle pieces.

    I really want them to rework MOC soon.
    Instead of 30 cycles, what if we don't have any cycles at all, as long as you can defeat the boss you get the rewards, also no rage SU bullcrap where enemies gets progressively more aggressive per cycle.
    0 cyclers could still flex as it will show how many cycles it took for them to do the MOC. People who doesn’t own any good dps could still get all the rewards, and you can now use sustains like bailu as she doesn’t need to provide more than just keeping you alive (aside from enemies with high debuff application).

    The curse of turn based game , they either need to tone down the hp increase or make a new mechanic for older unit so they can compete.
    Either way , for me personally i dont really bother about it since not fullstaring only make you lose 240 jade per patch while puling a new char you dont like gonna cost you 160 pulls.

    So far know. There are only offensive checks. And some are very lazy like the HP creep.
    So why not do defensive checks? A mode where excessive damage and speed is hindering.
    One thing about hsr is that there is no skip turn. So it would be interesting for a boss to have such a mechanic.
    Example boss can't be damaged. But loses 10+-,%hp, every cycle.
    Boss will spam powerfull aoe attacks with a quick charge time. Possibly 1hko every one defensive build.
    Boss has a damage threshold. Where when enough damage is done, it's attack becomes single target and weakened.
    Boss then goes into a defensive stance where any damage taken will be added on to it's weakened single target attack. Possibly getting into 1 hko range
    A boss where going as fast as you can will kill you.
    The damage/HP ratio between the player and monster is massive.
    So the excess damage you do with just a support basic attack. Would deal plenty of damage to you.
    Comp, skill management, speed management, damage control.

    I really wish we could get together as the community and just wrote emails and reviews and fill out evey form they sent to us about this HP problem. I think asian gamers are already accepted the rules of gacha and willing to play to suffer but as eastern gamer i am not so used to get f***d for my own money. HP inflation is so bad cant play even acheron (she is built well, wit5( signature but without eidolons) and seeing her struggle that much on svarog i just do not feel like i would invest in her any more. I a mean i know she gets better with e2 but inflation will grow so fast again thar her e5 will be trash. Hsr is an extremely boring game (if you are not a die hard fan of repetitive actions) all i is get more gacha with all the relics and then i see how best dps in the game struggle to do even 6 cycles on their half all i get is the same “fight all” content everywhere in this game. Gosh this game sucks so much it is not even fun anymore. I mean i still manage to get all stars but at what cost? I already have enough routine in my everyday life, i come to play and enjoy the process but all i feel is frustration and exhaust. Like it is not a game anymore it is really a casino this anime boobs.

    I think the point of releasing this outfit now is WuWa. To just put one extra gasoline tank to the tribal wars and give the hoyoshils the ability to say that HSR got a skin for free so the skins in WuWa are bad or a ripoff. it sound like this argument doesnt make sense and you would be right, it does not but this will not stop people that just want to hate
    I also think that Hoyo had this outfit option ready for a very long time but just kept it in the back to drop it right as the game felt threatened. But thats only my opinion

    Great video. So 2 things. 1, apparently the skin and others were supposed to be released much earlier, but it got delayed due to issues. That is why it seems kinda late and pointless for veteran players now. Although to be fair, anyone who is still new or mid in the game still finds value in march thanks to Remembrance path being popular in SIM universe, Swarm, etc, especially for f2p. But yeah, it is what it is.
    In regards to HP inflation, I largely agree. Something they kinda screwed up with is giving us the ability to manipulate turn order. And holy crap can we give ourselves a lot of turns. DDD, Sunday, Robin, even old Bronya, Eagle set, etc. As a result, they likely have to factor that in, because honestly it isn't hard to give ourselves more turns. And...as a result, there damage and HP increases, expecting us to give ourselves tons of turns. They can't take it back now of course (hilarious DDD took forever to come back) but it is what it is.
    And if they rely heavier on mechanics to make it challenging, well that assumes they do this well. And maybe they can. APS I think is a fine example. The dinosaur/tv boss is heavy on the mechanic. If people solve the puzzle well, people can clear with Serval or Welt as people prove (no money spent either.) On the other hand, 2 issues. One, this lowers incentive to pull on more recent characters if older ones can do it simply by solving the puzzle. And 2, the puzzle itself arent always winners either. Aventurine dice boss puzzle in APS for example most agreed was pathetically easy. People were happy for the jades, but disappointed for lack of challenge. And even with the dino boss I mentioned earlier; plenty also found very frustrating even though some thought it was well designed. Literally people complained on reddit "Arg, I wish I could just burst through it." Yeah....
    Its a tough issue for them. But I agree the HP inflation is getting out of hand. I am f2p and can clear with non meta teams, but it is getting to the point where even I admit that if people dont play meta or spend cash....yeah good luck. The artificial difficulty is getting too silly. Hell, the dino boss had a great puzzle, but when you solve it the HP was still absurd. Again, it expects us to gain a bunch of free turns I presume for more damage. Ah well, it is what it is. Great video.

      On one hand, I agree that Hoyoverse might've overtuned our action order manipulation.
      But on the other hand, I also think it's fine to be super rewarding.
      After all, it's the peak team synergy in this game, and mastering it isn't easy.
      Not only do you need to understand the fundamental of Action Value, you also need to obtain all the necessary supports/items for the said strategy.
      If players can cheese the battle with it, I say they deserve it.
      However, it seems to me that Hoyoverse want to balance everything around cheese strat, which is stupid as it will heavily impact the rest of the players.
      Right now using action manipulation alone isn't enough. You also need to upgrade your DPS to the new ones due to the HP increase.

    on top of making sustain units do more than just sustaining, they scared the thing they made them do were irrelevant so they just cranking up the numbers to make them more obvious. ofc everything are going to fall apart, and i don't think Hoyo really cares, they'd just slap a bandage on relic system to say "yep, it's not our balanced design's fault but your relics so here you grind and craft a more better ones" for solution
    i'm looking forward to how fk up they'll made those summons system do to the game battle and what bandage they'll use this time.

    HP inflation is really dragging HSR down, end game isn't even fun anymore bc if you have certain new character that checks everything the game suddenly become so easy but if you don't the amount of work and luck needed is immense, borderline impossible. Mechanics are so restrictive.
    It got to the point where there is a new character release I am not even hyped anymore rather dreading the powercreep, and I used to hype about characters and get excited about their kits back then in HSR and I still do in other gacha games. It's also due to lazy game design where newer characters not only powercreep the damage but also the kits that ignore some flawed mechanics of old characters but just a copy of them. Puzzle easily solved by pulling them.

    1 game example that i love is arknight, they do it right
    Older unit or 1st year unit still can be use until today! (the game 4 years old)
    some limited char are strong and 1 char name wisadel is broken but standard unit not obsolete or the content didnt based on wisadel. They simply just let you use whoever as long it work. u can be lazy or u can use brain and making something cool

      Rn herta is coming to make old units better again. Just like acheron did back in the day and feixiao is doing rn. Sure feixiao powercreeps dratio, but brings back topass and some 4stars 2 the front. M7pres for example. Dr rario is still fine.
      Aslong as they do it like that, its fine. Powercreeping 1 unit (that u can still use) and bringing other characters to the frontlines.
      Serval being nice again with herta is nice.

      Surely there are needs to make new mechanics. I love the idea of Superbreak or Follow up attack, but these two shouldn’t replace DoT.
      But I agree on top of that they can simply make very good animations plus an amazing backstory on new characters. No need for HP increase.
      I think people will be interested to pull just for that.

    i started HSR *because* it is turned based game and thus *because* i expect this "puzzle solving" aspect
    when i started to tackle the end-game modes and understood they were all speed based (including SU), i was already annoyed
    but now if they keep pushing the lazy and boring way, what is left of the game for me really ? the story better be good & interestingly written
    pulls are only necessary for end-game modes, so they should be part of the strategy in forming puzzle-solving teams

    You got just half the point of hp increase, even though it's right. In the past we got turbulence buffs that interact with our stats, which still gave a lot of importance to relics. Currently they've been giving flat damage to the turbulence, as a stage mechanic on top of the fight mechanic, which is why the increase happened. That levels the playing field, faster clears become slower, slower clears aren't affected, with the catch that you now have to interact with the mechanics more intimately which may make team compositions more restrictive.
    With that in mind, I don't think the relic system change was set up in a way that will encourage higher scaling as the balance team has been doing an excellent job with keeping things reasonable. From what I see it's more to address one of the capital sins of gacha genre that is gear RNG, as they did with the multiple rerun banners to combat FOMO. About March's skin, I'll have to agree since very few people evne think about her when picking a team, but it's not necessarily that the sustains have to do damage, frankly the damage for some supports and sustains is pretty negligible with the exception of superbreak. It's just nice to have if it doesn't compromise surviving, gives more agency to the composition. At least the skin will open the door for more skins, I take it as a win although people will definitely complain about whichever one is not free through events.

    Agreed, my e2 Acheron barely gets 5 cicles first half of moc12 and jingliu can't handle the second half

    Huh, I must say I love this ongoing trend - CCs speaking up about the game mechanics and decisions Hoyo making in HSR. Even those who take part in content creator servers (which in the past was said that they're prohibited to criticize characters and decisions). Just today I heard Braxx disliking hiding a solution for SP issues in Herta's signature LC, now you speaking up about HP inflation. Yes, this is the problem, we're slowly getting into 10 mil HP pool for 5 target bosses. And this is ridiculous - this just makes not only old units powercrept, but recent units to struggle even with the bosses, tailored specifically for them, because it makes you to rethink your whole rotation and maybe even speed tunings.
    Also - about skins - Im glad we're finally getting one, but if not March 7, if we would get a skin for, let's say, Kafka. Would that make me buy it? No, because DoT is actually the archetype struggling the most with that HP inflation. We didn't get DoT character in a whole year (no, Jiaoqiu, fuck your E2, you're not a DoT character)

    I think what's more concerning is how a lot of characters are becoming useless each major patch. I wish they do what P5X do with their characters. They have a system that can make their character powerful and they buff or reworks the old characters (It happened twice now and it's in each major patch) so they can be subpar with the new characters.
    Well this might just be me lol. It's really just frustrating to what HSR is becoming.
    I'm really close to quitting. I haven't log in for almost 2 weeks because it's so sht to play with now.

      Wholly agreed. P5X did such a good job at making all characters, new and old, relevant on top of having a better banner system. As someone who's been following both games since launch, it's clear how P5X endgame doesn't feel as punishing as HSR's. Really hope Hoyo could take some notes because if this HP inflation issue keeps up, this might actually be it for me.
      Can't wait for P5X global release, I could use a new game to play lol

    I will change my rate to HSR to 2 and explain that their HP inflation is just lazy and the game is currently boring with issues like this. Plus, I was suprised when they decided to keep Svarog. Btw, 2 players who will play Ice March 7th 👍

    Hoyo has a same trope when they only care about their newest come out game for 1 - 2 years and never touch it again to move on to develop a next "brand new" game until people (Chinese people) start to complain about their older game
    This is same thing happened to Genshin and now Hsr, next maybe ZZZ

    Yeah but... I don't care of the useless March-Paimon 7th. I mean, she is so useless in Trailblazer quest... An useless sidekick "cute" but dumb, For Me.
    Anyway I don't have any worth reason to used her as Sustain because of... All > March-Paimon 7th in many team like Team Archeron & Firefly.
    She's good for Clara but Lynx too, but I don't play Clara...
    And neither Feixiao.
    So for personal reason or not, a new skin for her and a Buff, it's a Meh...

    You are overthinking things. The new MOC hp just is getting ready for The Herta to shine next week. Come next week we'll see a bunch of auto 0-cycle with The Herta making mince meat of floor 12, induce "OMG i gotta pull" reactions.
    Hoyo knows exactly what gear player have, they don't have to "think." They adjust difficulty according to gear quality. So don't fall behind the curve.

      Not really. Enemies still have res against most types they’re not weak to. The reason why most DPS are used against enemies who are weak to their element is because those enemies have no resistance to the DPS’s attacks
      Traditional crit DPS don’t lose much from not being able to break the enemy, so it doesn’t matter too much if they can’t break (outside of Apoc Shadow). On the other hand Break DPS literally deal near 0 damage if they can’t break, so they need to have ways to bypass enemy weakness
