the missiles are meant to crash on obsidian or some surface like a villager's house and will then explode as the TNT is pushed towards the Redstone from the surface that ur missile is pushing

Unspeakable! The “arms” floating away are actually missiles. It’s meant to be shot at a wall so what happens is that when it hits the wall the redstone block somehow touches the tnt and it explodes

No JAZ Jacobey if you remove the glass it's gonna activate the TNT instantly The design you saw was different I don't know what design you've seen but I think it has observers to activate the TNT.
The glass is only so the TNT doesn't make contact with the redstone block. There 2 (of more) pistons pushing the front part but 1 of them has a block at the very front layer that the other piston(s) don't have. When it makes contact with a flat wall the 1 piston get stuck and the other piston(s) push 1 more time for they also get stuck and then hits the TNT the redstone block and ignite.
