this is actually a rather well researched interview. you usually average 20 cringes a minute when the national media talks "jambands" and I didn't cringe once.
PBS, around 6pm depending on your station. It's no accident that he's often chosen as moderator for presidential debates. He's somebody everyone can agree on, one of the purest journalist I've seen.
The male anchor seemed like a fan. Not sure about the question regarding VT and why would someone ask, “Why do you keep playing Chunk of Coal?” -What VT song is he referring to? If it’s Walk on the Flood, he sure didn’t hold it in reverence. -Chunk of Coal is a badass cover, they can keep it in the rotation forever as far as I’m concerned.
This interview got a lot right, such as that WSP would be able to profit in the future from archive releases as well as doing the festival circuit. Both of those became mega true!
They are both fun if you know music or play it, I honestly don’t understand why people hate each band, I have so much fun at both shows but yes Panic is slightly better
I get the feeling a bunch of JB's friends are jumping around acting goofy just off camera. Like in Anchor Man, when Paul Rudd and David Koechner when trying to throw off Christina Applegate
Savage is an American first. So am I. I beleave in the Constitution and values that have made this country the greatest and most successful in the history of the world in just over 300 years. Savage calls em out on both sides. Just like me.
@whb1965 Well he has lived for about the last 20 years in Dahlonega Georgia... I'd have to say country boy... Mid west is country anyways... The guy wheres cowboy boots and sings southern rock.... Just FYI... He is a Georgia Resident now....
I'm not a big fan of Fox News but in fairness I thought they were asking him some decent and insightful questions, especially looking at the "jamband scene" from a business standpoint (this is the Fox Business show after all). I think JB was maybe just a *little* disinterested in the questions they were asking, not to mention that he seems blazingly stoned throughout the interview. :)
Ya...let's not talk about music...let's talk about the money to be made by it!! Become a jam band so somebody can make endless albums from your live shows--it's such a good business investment...money money money, business, business, business!!
these reporters i think are missing the entire point of widespread. its not about money or business at all. panic is about sharing the music. fox news blows. panic rules. rock on.
if your Right Winged, your an idiot, if your Left Winged, your an idiot. if your conservitave about some stuff and liberal about others, your rational. But can we let that be the last political comment for this video? please?
@whb1965 True that, but if you you live in the country for 20 years as a multi millionaire adult when you could live anywhere, it must mean you have an admirable taste for the country...... Of course most city boys do not where cowboy boots.... ya i'd say country folk act a little differently than city folk... Not a bad thing.. Just sayin..
What in the hell does all this political/religious stupidity have to do with Widespread Panic. Please take your issues to a website designed for this...
Nor did they write Let's get down to business! 🙄🥴 that's a vic song. Bonnaroo was only good for the first 4-5 years anyway!! That question about Kanye was just retarded! You can tell jb wanted to say what we all wanted to hear, but not on national TV!!🤣 o well
dude that isnt necessary. looks like to me that you are liberal yourself. and if you really were a panic fan, you wouldnt have all that jealousy and hatred in your heart
It always cracks me up when liberals are so closed minded and judgmental... that's not supposed to be your image! This is an interesting article about the business side of the music. Love Panic, and JB has always seemed like such a class act - very gracious to people he may not agree with politically. We could all take a page out of his book!
JB Bell?
John Bell Bell?

absolute phenomenal band. JB you're amazing.
He's so kind.
it's amazing how bad those fox anchors were during that interview.
they sounded way way more uptight and nervous than he did and he was the guest

Have you ever watched the Jim Leher news hour? that's a balanced news show.
Never heard of it. When is it on?
Does anybody know what Virginia Tech song he's talking about?
Jay Riley I don’t think JB had any clue wtf he was talking about
"Hokie" Red LMAO
Walking on the flood is about the VT shooting
@@mattmulvihill didn't know that, thanks. Excuse my ignorance .
@@nhadobas65 lol all good man I definitely see where you got that from

JB is one of the coolest musicians out there.
I don’t care what anyone says, “Chunk of Coal” is a great song.
7:11 minutes of floundering...
But I still love it!
The male reporter seems to actually have a clue. Why did they not let him lead that interview?
No you obviously no nothing about Phish. Besides Panic puts Phish to shame.
Theres no comparison, Panic blows Phish right out of the water
Phish is terrible
They are both fun if you know music or play it, I honestly don’t understand why people hate each band, I have so much fun at both shows but yes Panic is slightly better
guess what it’s possible to like both and aren’t necessarily comparable to each other
I remember watching this.....I fell in love with dag that day😜😱
JB Bell😂
I get the feeling a bunch of JB's friends are jumping around acting goofy just off camera. Like in Anchor Man, when Paul Rudd and David Koechner when trying to throw off Christina Applegate
Was the female anchor a fill-in for the day?
2008, breh. Phish was no longer touring...
I just love JB!

Chunk of coal😂 jb’s always an awkward interview.
Dick's Picks vol. 500 LOL

Savage is an American first. So am I. I beleave in the Constitution and values that have made this country the greatest and most successful in the history of the world in just over 300 years. Savage calls em out on both sides. Just like me.
He called him JB Bell. hehe.
Just a little...lol
er, try country.
very strange question, seeing how they very rarely play it. dope tune though.
Yes sir!!
There is nothing wrong with Chunk of Coal. How did she ever get on TV with that speech impediment?
@whb1965 Well he has lived for about the last 20 years in Dahlonega Georgia... I'd have to say country boy... Mid west is country anyways... The guy wheres cowboy boots and sings southern rock.... Just FYI... He is a Georgia Resident now....
Just to keep you guys from blowing up on me.. technically 232 years but it started before then.
dang - homegirl gots a BIG ol' face.
jb is and always will be my super hero love ya brother
I'm not a big fan of Fox News but in fairness I thought they were asking him some decent and insightful questions, especially looking at the "jamband scene" from a business standpoint (this is the Fox Business show after all). that was somewhat painful to sit through. fucking suits
How can people you think, "look really old" look young.
Ha JB just does not fit in on business news.... What a country boy... He's so conservative, got to love him...
Ya...let's not talk about music...let's talk about the money to be made by it!! Become a jam band so somebody can make endless albums from your live shows--it's such a good business investment...money money money, business, business, business!!
It's a show about business though.
Jb knew that....hello
she calls panic fans "spread heads" lol.
That's what we were called in ga. Back in the day.
She ain't wrong.
Well, they clearly weren't familiar with him or the music. "JB Bell." Criminy, that was gawdy.
The womans constant snickering is very irritating!
these reporters i think are missing the entire point of widespread. its not about money or business at all. panic is about sharing the music. fox news blows. panic rules. rock on.
It's literally on the "fox business channel"....lol
Hello?
feel bad for JB on that one, city-slicker in the suit has probably never heard of widespread in his life..put him on the spot asking about Kanye

@whb1965 True that, but if you you live in the country for 20 years as a multi millionaire adult when you could live anywhere, it must mean you have an admirable taste for the country...... Do you spend all day searching and insulting Panic videos. Get a life. Listen to music you like and shut up.
these people are terrible at trying to sound cool.
Dumb questions from the anchors...
It always cracks me up when liberals are so closed minded and judgmental... that's not supposed to be your image! This is an interesting article about the business side of the music. They are addicted to virtue signaling and fake wokeism
