- Our sweet Asha passed away from acute kidney failure today (May 12, 2023). She will be missed by many humans and felines. Thank you to the following for videos they uploaded which were edited into this memorial for our dear, sweet Asha, they are: Yu-Jie Lin, yonatan, frankie, No One, Stan, and StripeyD.

All of a sudden you were sitting in front of me, at my feet, as quiet as can be, just looking up at me with those beautiful eyes of yours. You didn't need to meow or say a thing - your adorable sweetness was enough to get me to sit down and cuddle with you. I wanted to scoop you up and take you home with me! Don't tell the other kitties, but you just might have been my favorite. I'm sad that you're gone and will miss seeing you on the cam, but it gladdens my heart knowing you had a happy life surrounded by people who loved you. So long, sweet Asha.

I will miss the most polite and patient little lady that is Asha. It was just last month that I was giving Asha a full pet down as she was shedding her winter coat. Last I saw her, last week, she was resting.
I don't remember hearing her meow, but at least I got to hear her purr.
She goes home to God who knows when even one sparrow falls. There is hope for everyone in Christ Jesus.

What a gorgeous girl! RIP sweet girl
I had occasional cat deaths from kidney failure when I was using an urban water supply. After 30 years in the “country” using well water, neither I nor my neighbor have had a cat with kidney disease. My previous water supply was chlorinated plus from the Mississippi River, where numerous chemical plants dump their industrial water. I don’t know if that will be of use to you, or anyone else. I’m not giving advice, just telling my experience.

We do have well water at FFRC. I am glad that your cats have been healthy! Sometimes, sadly, it's just time.

Sorry to learn of this sad news. It's a bit close to home because my cat has a kidney condition which is being treated conservatively with a specialised diet. Asha will live on in many memories.
