So with this launch pad mod, you could just put a launch pad on the launch pad, and (in career) build ships using the ore that is at the launch pad, and never spend money on another ship.

However, these parts are fairly high up in the tech tree so you will have to play "the usual way" for quite a while before you can get it set up

Fill them up with fuel and send them on their way. Kinda cool since it's the natural progression of space programs. Launching everything off a planet is terribly inefficient. Even if we could build just the hull of a spacecraft in orbit we could make massive ships.
two words: fighter carriers but really, imagine a ship that could just print out robotic fighters, needing to be resupplied with fuel and rocket parts and other ship-y stuff

I can't figure out how to set/change the spawn point location for the launchpads. The ships keep spawning inside my ship/base and it just all blows up... The stakes also don't show up on the launchpad menu...
When I first heard reference of this mod it sounded like it would be super cheaty. but it dosent look that bad. It seems like it will fit in with the ground construction mod i picked up last week quite well.
I found that this is likely due to modulemanager, try deleting all of your mods, updating to the latest version and using CKAN to install your mods, it worked for me ;)
My only gripe with this mod is that the majority of the models are ugly. I *do* consider this to be an essential mod, however. Along with Life Support, KIS, KAS, and HyperEdit
Waaait so if you have enough parts you can make another rocket that has the factory and launchpad, for a trip to any planet when fueled and create another launchpad on said planet and repeat the process to make a base on any planet you can land on safely?
Hey i recently encountered a bug with this mod where the seats arent showing up on anything or storage only the words KSP-recall::attach on edit idk what this means but its basiclly bricked the mod if anyone could help me understand why its doing this
I'm starting a new career mode game after being away from this game for... years. Would really like to be able to get to a point where I'm building rockets on duna.
ive seen alot of people who cant get the stakes to work and im one of them but no one seems to have the answer but i suggest to you all to get hyper edit then when your craft is stuck on the launchpad just open hyper edit alt+h>orbit edit>velocity>then select up and add like 5, this way the exhaust from your build doesn't blow up anything

when i downloaded this mod and placed it in the game data folder, there is a new section added called "EL ITEMS" but even when i researched everything in the tech tree, nothing shows up. is there something am i doing wrong? any help would be appreciated.
I know how to use Kerbal Attachment Systems to do that. simply select the strut in the KAS UI and place it with your mouse. Does not know anything about Kerbal Inventory Systems.
+megaangryjoe Did you use the "EL Survey Station" under the utility tab? The survey stake site won't show on the construction dock, launch pad, etc. You need to specifically use the "EL Survey Station" part, and after you attach the stake to the ground with the mallet it should show up on the UI of the part.
Anyone else had problems getting the recyclers to work on versions 1.0.x? Mine do not show any state on or off. Are there any known mods that conflict with this??? Google is not proving much of a help here. Edit: the orbital construction dock is also not showing a gui button even tho i have the toolbar mod installed and mod manager and everything.

Hey, anyone able to help me with this mod? Every place I download it for, for KSP 1.0 or 1.0.2. I always have no Plugins folder. Older versions had it when I downloaded, with the KSPAIExtensions.dll and the Launchpad.dll inside it. Yet every place I've downloaded it doesn't have that plugins inside the gamedata folder. Especially crucial with Launchpads.dll plugin. Please!? I loved this mod in 0.25, but after 0.90 I have been missing those key plugins and it has crippled my interplanetary empire building ability.
How do I get productivity for creating these ships? I don't have no productivity at all and would like to get some. Little help plz. Btw the productivity is for building the ships themselves on those launchpads
Would be nice if Kottabo could contact this Mod Creator , i have an awesome idea A build Roboter ;) build how large you like... the roboter will walk where it needs the part... so... its like a bot that drives like unlimited to X and Y... but limited Z .. where do you get fuel from!?!?! so: mine the fuel also

Im confused D: The problem with the Luanchpad's crew seats, once they're in there you can't get them out, there's no crew hatch that I've found. I also don't like that moving parts that aren't Infernal Robotics bits don't keep items attached to them properly. If you put a docking node say on the launchpad then open it the docking node will stay floating in space where it was originally attached. Killing me waiting for Near Future Electrical to update, mods like ELP, really need those nuclear reactors to run effectively. Did you test with heat shields? It'd be awfully akward if heatsheilds started "empty".
The Nuker ya that is a weird thing about the launchpad, especially the moving parts issue. tried putting solar panels on it once and then unfolded it and they were floating in the air lol. and no I haven't heat shields ... hmm that could be worrisome.
Yeah, my thing is I wanted to drop the Launchpad on Minmus and I'd use docking nodes to hook it up to a larger structure, heck even getting the launchpad to fly is a chore, probably be easier to send a mission to use the stakes and poof a new launchpad on the surface. I'd also consider the BahumotoD parts, he made like, a launchpad (quite nice good animations) and some drills that actually actuate away from the main structure so they don't need to be placed so they "land" in the ground, freaking Huge though.
The Nuker Oh ya BahumotoD has some great parts, I'm partial to roverdudes though the new space dock and launchpad he adds in with the USI kolonization mod are gorgeous.
Those are nice too, kind of annoying though cause they turn off the stock EPL stuff. simple config change but still, some of the stock parts are kind of vital even with USI stuff. Like the storage tanks.

That's pretty much my reaction as well. The mod maker has a really good idea, but needs some assistance with texturing.
A nice alternative is the SimpleConstruction mod. It uses the same code, but applies the functionality to stock parts.

Kal'sik Herensk You don't put mods in the plugins folder anymore. You put them in the Game Data folder.
