Reggio nell'anima!
Doggonnit! I'm kicking myself right now! because when I spent the month in Amantea I drove to Tropea and debated on going to Reggio Calabria but I decided not to, now I am disappointed in my decision :( I only went as far North as Scalea in the other direction also which I also admired in your other video. Keep posting your adventures! you are showing Calabria's history and cultural richness in the most beautiful light!
From one Perri here (in Australia) to you other Perri's there. Very nice. The siren call of the motherland is once again very strong. Nice to have come across your Adventure.
The same as it was when I was there in 2015, boring as hell. lived there for almost a full year. I absoluty hated it and couldn't wait to get the hell out. 95% of the people were very rude and didn't want anything to do with an American. The Main Street is nice but everywhere else is filth and garbage. I had a cockroach land on my head walking under a building and had a huge rat run out infant of me on a crowded street. Places don't open until 7 or 8 at night to eat so eating early is very difficult when staying in a hotel. On top of it all it's dangerous. If anyone is thinking of going I would say DON'T DO IT.
I’m sorry to hear you had a bad experience in Reggio. We spent the day and enjoyed our walk around the area. We plan to go back and see more as we felt like we had so much more there to see. It can be difficult to fit in or feel welcome for foreigners in other countries sometimes. I find the smaller towns to be very hospitable. In our months spent in Tropea we slowly got to know many locals and they were very kind and happy to have us there. When we were bored we took a trip as there is so much to see and do in Italy
@@theperriadventures ...One day is plenty to see what you need to in that town. I was there for almost a full year, and trust me it's very boring. I now live in Japan and have always felt welcome. It's like a different planet as far as the people are concerned being nice.

My paternal grandparents were from Reggio. They came to America in the early 1900s. Beautiful views of the Strait of Messina.

Maybe you're not a likeable person.
