They are not as slow as we think. I keep snails and sometimes I am dealing with one so I leave it there for a moment then go to the kitchen for less than a minute and snail gone they can be fast er if they want to
I am a snail keeper, I became so by accident, they’re my babies now and I feed them I look after them and try to keep them healthy. I watch them from my window, I suffer from anxiety but I sit there I interact with them I watch them and they make me forget about my problems and they calm me down immensely. They are very interesting, each has a personality and they have habits like us, they always go home to their house to sleep and they are delightful. I wish more ppl were respectful and appreciate snails
@@bepisman7273 I will he just went to sleep now he spend the night around and come to say hello to me at my bed. Yes he comes up to my bed to say Hi. I just bought him back to his tank. Steve says Hello back 🐌 😊
While some may be disgusted by them, I love these humble creatures. So ticklish and cold when one glides on your palm. Achatina fulica is the species endemic to my area.

I was impressed by an ordinary snail in Europe. In Japan (land) snails' shell is so thin that it can be crushed with ease between your two fingers. Seemingly an extreme form of adaptation perhaps. Lack of minerals otherwise.
I would go with lack of minerals bc here in Europe is the same. I keep snails as a pet and my snails have nice and thick shells bc I feed them calcium supplements while some of the snails I encounter in the streets that don’t have access to proper nutrition do have thin shells and it makes me sad
Put out empty, clean tuna fish cans with a little beer inside. They're attracted to the beer and drown. Redo if it rains. Crushed eggshells at the base of the stems also works.
I once killed a flock of snails with my bike by accident. I felt the cold slime hit my bare legs and thought it was dog poop at first. That was a disgusting moment. Then I realized it must have been snails. Felt less disgusting I must admit, even tho that made me a killer.
Kudos to the camera guy patient enough to film slugs and snails
I am watching at 1.75x speed 😅

Another prespective: Imagine having no hands and things keep crawling on you

Snails are probably the chillest bugs out there. (Not counting the cone snail.)
Snails aren't bugs tho
@@PKmeloa Eh, that's true. I'm just used to classifying them as bugs. In my language, the word that translates to "bug" is used for all invertebrates.
