These people’s diaries and especially their memoirs after the war are responsible for skewing history somewhat after WWII. The “losers” were given major publishing contracts, including many of the German generals, and they used the opportunity to rewrite history to a certain degree. This is why we believe things like “the SS committed all the war crimes; the Wehrmacht was innocent of such terror”. It’s totally untrue, and without the phd’s to dive deeply into things, all we would have are the words of people who have a major stake in the outcome and the perceived outcome.
Ok, but docs like this still seem to embellish things because they feel powerless towards history, so they say stuff like "Hitler was a loser that refused to get a job" which is just not true, or they say things about how he was only a low rank in the German Army overlooking that he because the head of the German Army. There are so many negative things you could say about Hitler without having to make anything up.
Yes its very interesting when you hear from people who actually knew Hitler. I am also not that interested in these modern day professors types most of who are like the Monday morning quarterback
Agree but there’s some real gems of truth in here. They admit that Churchill began bombing Berlin by night by August 25, 1940. Churchill knew it would bring like reprisals & used those reprisals to smash the British anti war movement.
31:25 One German plane made a navigation error and dropped their their bombs and on London not on the city itself, the pilot was called to Berlin for a reprimand Prior to this German pilots were constantly reminded not to bomb London. The following night Churchill sent 80 heavy bombers to bomb Berlin seven nights continuously, Hitler refused to retaliate it threatened to do so, but after a week then he ordered London bombed and the air war between Germany and London started.
@@woodenseagull1899 I am not attributing fault to anyone I am only stating some facts. People can draw their own conclusions.. Also remember that loser Germany didn't fight alone- I call it loser cause it lost not once but twice and both of them super humiliating defeats- It was Germany, Japan, Italy, Romania, Finland, Hungary, Croatia..... against the USA, UK, Soviet Union, Canada, Australia......
