MvsC3 was that time a lot of fans claymored for Megaman X, and wasn’t included now he’s in the bad game that is MvsC Infinite. Call it bad timing and bad business decisions if ya will.
I kinda feel like it's partially cultural preference - MODOK definitely feels more in line with some of the weird, kooky, off beat or even just more grotesque types of villains found in manga/anime, hence sometimes the various oddball picks in the series. Kingpin may be more well known and arguably the better character (I def prefer Kingpin much more over MODOK), but he's also more straightforward and typical. He's the archetypal villain you expect to see in a street level or gang-themed story, and those are much more common in media than the likes of MODOK.

Punisher is basically the Marvel version of Capcom's RE characters, look at Chris in MVC3/Infinite, he's basically Punisher, nothing but GUNS, yet Capcom doesn't wanna put Frank in. Fuck them, they used the same excuse to not include Blade in MVC3, saying they didn't want too many DMC type characters then they went ahead and put in 3 DMC characters on their side with Dante, Trish and Vergil. Capcom intentionally sabotages the marvel side so theirs won't be upstaged.
I’m not sure I really buy it when they say they left out characters because they weren’t sure about if they’d fly in a T rated video game. I mean, first off, Rouge is in Power Stone games and they’re both T rated games on the Dreamcast. Cyberbots never got a US home release, but Capcom knows full well nobody in the T rated Power Stone games is going to push them beyond a T. And nobody in Cyberbots should either. They also said the same thing about Nemesis before Ultimate came out. They said they wanted him but didn’t add him because he’d bump the rating up to an M. Which is like: What? Nemesis may be from the M rated Resident Evil series, but he was also in the T rated PS2 game Under the Skin. The act of just having the character there isn’t going to change the rating. Unsurprisingly when Nemesis did show up in Ultimate the game remained a T rated game. I do wonder if everyone that showed up as cards in the Heroes and Heralds Mode for Ultimate were characters that they wanted in but didn’t work out. Although Squirrel Girl didn’t even make the cards either.
She'd have been way too powerful, but Squirrel Girl could have been fun. She'd have lent herself well to acrobatic manuvers, covering enemies in squirrels.
They put shuma gorath because he was an important part of the mvc series history??? They could’ve put at least Psylocke cause I think ppl would’ve noticed more about the character history imo Plus she was a classic character from capcom’s first installment of the VS series imo
Capcom can rehire him... I hope! I just hope Niitsuma learned his lessons from his last game. I just don't trust Shuhei Matsumoto or Takayuki Nakayama aka the guys behind SF6 to handle MVC.

Not mentioned here, Doctor Octopus was originally meant to be in but they couldn’t get him working in time for the final release. It’s been known that he was meant to be in since Ultimate came out, but just last year someone found a portrait for him in Fate of Two World. Something I remember Ryota Niitsuma saying in some big interview he did shortly after Ultimate came out is that they had to fight to keep Storm in the game. Marvel didn’t want Storm in. Black Panther also didn’t make it because he was “too much like Taskmaster.” Which doesn’t really make any sense, but I guess their idea for Black Panther at the time was to do counter stuff I guess. That’s all that really makes sense to me. Although back when they were developing the game you’d think they’d base him on the The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes...which I’d think would be more like Gambit with a dash that has him running on all fours and puts him low to the ground and maybe able to go under some projectiles. I’ve never gotten how they didn’t know what to do with Loki with regard to is illusion powers. If they’re leaning more towards what he does in the MCU, just make him play like Chizuru Kagura from The King of Fighters. Do a version of Chizuru Kagura, throw in something like an air dagger throw move that he can teleport to either instantly or sometime later and you’ve got yourself a Loki fighting game character.
Thanos and Captain Marvel would supposed to be in the roster as well, but would saved them until the awful MVC Infinite. Oh, well. Community Edition is still the only way though. 😂
This is still overall the best MvC roster. The Marvel side has both popular characters that people wanted as well as niche (at least at the time) characters that are fun and a nice change of pace. The capcom side has characters that represent the history of capcom really well with characters like Arthur and Haggar. It also doesn't have 80 Street fighter characters like MvC2.
Well speaking of major important characters all these games a not a single time have the put in any of the three deadliest most important characters. Were our god dam goblins. Neither of the three goblins our ever in these games. Poor William it’s not fair!
Hey man, just thought I'd let you know that some parts of the video appear to be false. The flash code leak states that characters like Emma Frost and Elektra were on the roster despite being cut during development. The characters belonging to stages thing is false, or at least it partially is. Niitsuma has mentioned on twitter that both Doc Ock and Daredevil came far during development, if anything the stage corresponded to DD, not Elektra. None of the mods are credited for, I know you mentioned community edition at the end, but it'd be more productive if you could link the modder's works in the description.
Mystique deserved to be in the game. I would have been okay with them dropping Magneto for her. Also Green Goblin or Doc Ock should have been the second Spider-man character for sure

HATE them for not adding Ms Marvel Carol. She always been my favorite. Instead, they added She-Hulk who basically is a female Hulk. At least Carol could be unique as. Cosmic female with energy powers and flight. Who’s Nova at the time tho?
It was before she went back intergalactic I believe. But then again, they could have made it where she gets an install to be cosmic level powered for a short amount of time like when she absorbed all that energy and was Binary for 15 minutes in one of the early issues of Bendis' run of New Avengers.
Infinite is inferior. CAPCOM, stop reinventing the wheel and just add to games like UMvsC3. I would've bought the d*#^ game again with 20 more characters. Not everybody bemoans minor upgrades and official remixes.

MVC3 had a stage with characters that didn't make it or were cut in the background.

This is still overall the best MvC roster. The Marvel side has both popular characters that people wanted as well as niche (at least at the time) characters that are fun and a nice change of pace. The capcom side has characters that represent the history of capcom really well with characters like Arthur and Haggar. It also doesn't have 80 Street fighter characters like MvC2.
Id like to see the concept art or videos of how they could of played

Well speaking of major important characters all these games a not a single time have the put in any of the three deadliest most important characters. Were our god dam goblins. Neither of the three goblins our ever in these games. Poor William it’s not fair!

Hey man, just thought I'd let you know that some parts of the video appear to be false.
The flash code leak states that characters like Emma Frost and Elektra were on the roster despite being cut during development.
The characters belonging to stages thing is false, or at least it partially is. Niitsuma has mentioned on twitter that both Doc Ock and Daredevil came far during development, if anything the stage corresponded to DD, not Elektra.
None of the mods are credited for, I know you mentioned community edition at the end, but it'd be more productive if you could link the modder's works in the description.
The fact that there were BoF series characters as candidates but none of them made the cut. :(
Mystique deserved to be in the game. I would have been okay with them dropping Magneto for her.
Also Green Goblin or Doc Ock should have been the second Spider-man character for sure

No idea what you are talking about. On my 8 years on the platform, no one has ever said anything like this before. EDIT - went to 2.37 I think I was using my mouse to scroll down my script, hence me delaying the last word I could see in front of me until l could read the next one. An incredibly human quirk, nothing to do with AI lol

HATE them for not adding Ms Marvel Carol. She always been my favorite. Instead, they added She-Hulk who basically is a female Hulk. At least Carol could be unique as. Cosmic female with energy powers and flight. Who’s Nova at the time tho?
It was before she went back intergalactic I believe. But then again, they could have made it where she gets an install to be cosmic level powered for a short amount of time like when she absorbed all that energy and was Binary for 15 minutes in one of the early issues of Bendis' run of New Avengers.
