I also bought this figure because I had the original when I was a kid. All in all, I have the same gripes. But it felt pretty good opening up a figure identical to the card one that I had when I was little. But all of these retro figures are a little off. They don’t quite look the same. Wow. That almost looks like a one on one copy of the vintage figure (which it isn't). Way more so than Mattel's Origins line of He-Man figures. I can appreciate Mattel's decision to give collectors something quite different and new with that line, while still looking mostly the same. The differences here seem to be minute. Still looking for the Retro Collection Stormtrooper, which maintains the notably odd look of the original.
My retro biker scouts legs fit inside the handlebars, some of my vintage figures dont hold their gun and have really bad paint applications.I really like the retro line,cant wait for at at driver ,luke stormtrooper and ewoks.
I prefer the original. And the sculpts on these repros are middling at best. There is a lack of detail lost in the translation. Maybe because they are duped off of an actual figure and not the actual steel molds.
My original Kenner Biker Scout always had very close together legs, same as the Retro, same with hands. As with most Kenner figures you get variations 👍

3:14 The closeups really show how Hasbro has cheapened out with the new sculpting. Disappointing that 40-year-old figures are better quality than th enew stuff.
He’s obviously unaware there were 4 differing versions released from 4 different countries of origin. This repro one actually matches one version quite well.
Seen a couple of retro return of the jedi figures in my local HMV store the emperor and probably the biker scout . Toy polli reviewed all of the retro collection return of the jedi wasn't that impressed with the quality of the plastic comparing with the originals alongside.
Maybe the logic was having a new scout who stands in a narrower stance since they aren’t selling the bike anymore? Older collectors like us could have vintage ones to ride the bike and new ones to stand guard, for example. I just assume the new figures won’t be quite as good, anyhow… there’s always something wrong. Hasbro can’t match Kenner quality.

Must admit that for display on a speeder bike I think I prefer the potf2 sculpt.
They planned that one well considering the limited articulation. Goofy looking as a stand alone figure though.
