I just voted today! Unfortunately, Mike Johnson wasn’t on my ballot in this state. Couldn’t vote him out.
Is it just me or does Mike Johnson remind you of one of the old white slave owners who brutalized his slaves and did the unthinkable, then perverted the gospel by justifying his actions through the word of God. It sickens to no end!

Well, like Rev Ed said, Johnsons God is using him to create chaos and push hate.
His lack of action is a slap in Jesus’ face.
He can't act because praise will go to the Democrats.
I can't wrap my head around how someone claims to be Christian but does nothing to help desperate people like Jesus ordered them to do whether you like them or not. I can't wrap my head around how others thinks it is OK.
They 'claim' to be Christian, but they are not. Christians are know by their love, not by their hate.

He thinks he is a Christian but acts against the teachings of Christ! When he kissed the trump ring and when he pushes lies created by trump, tells one all they need to know about Johnson. "Ye shall know them by their fruits". I know i say this all the time but i feel its a very good judge of someones character.

Tina Peters, before sentencing said she was a child of God, and God doesn't like people messing with his children. She literally believed that she couldn't and shouldn't go to prison because 'god protects his children.' am I crazy? or are there people who use God simply as an excuse to do anything they want without any repercussions?
Christian Nationalists don't love Jesus. Their religion is hatred, cruelty, fear, forcing others to suffer, bigotry, and hypocrisy. They love claiming they're redeemed and their sins are forgiven--but they scream that everyone else is a sinner and must be punished.
Not real christians
Some Christians think that because they are forgiven, they can do anything.
They also think that prayer is a wishing well. If they pray for it they will get it. They never stop to think that it may not be what God wants for them, they want it so they should get it. It just doesn't work that way.
I also saw that as a threat to the judge.
Johnson lies like a rug.
My understanding is that the Samaritans were regarded with contempt by the people they lived among - the "undocumented immigrants" of their day. And that part of the point of that story is that the man who was beset by robbers was ignored by his own people, and given care by the supposed scum.
And like any good Johnson, religious people should circumcise his term as speaker of the house this November.

A little soap and water is a good and useful thing under many circumstances, but an "extreme and irrational fear of germs, dirt, or contamination" is an identifiable psychological disorder known as Mysophobia. I find it helpful to always remember God looks on the heart, not on outward appearances; oftentimes you do have to get dirty to accomplish some actually worthwhile task.

There's a similar story to the good Samaritan in Buddhism. The story of the monk with dysentery. After the Buddha and his attendant Ananda clean the monk and tend to him the Buddha gathers his monks and says this:
Then the Blessed One, from this cause, because of this event, had the monks assembled and asked them: "Is there a sick monk in that dwelling over there?"
"Yes, O Blessed One, there is."
"And what is his sickness?"
"He has dysentery, O Blessed One."
"But does he have an attendant?"
"No, O Blessed One."
"Then why don't the monks attend to him?"
"He doesn't do anything for the monks, lord, which is why they don't attend to him."
"Monks, you have no mother, you have no father, who might tend to you. If you don't tend to one another, who then will tend to you? Whoever would tend to me, should tend to the sick.
The government is suppose to be helping people not picking and choosing..this is so ridiculous.
In considering the story of the man dying in the ditch and it being unclean to touch someone who is dying, it's interesting to me that people will invent supernatural myths to not feel guilty for being selfish. The Irish used to claim their children or elderly were switched with fairies to explain things like health issues, learning problems, etc. They called them Changelings and would leave them alone in the woods to be returned to the fairies; when in reality they were leaving them to die because they didn't want to take care of them.

What ever happened to people putting politics aside at least during emergencies/disasters to work together to take care of our citizens. I clearly am at odds with most people in Florida and Texas but there is no way that I am ok with any politician who is not on the ball and helping out those states when they need help. Period!. If Texas or Florida need help then that's all there is to it because those are our fellow countrymen, our relatives, our family, those are our people even when we disagree on the logistics of how to organize the government. There is no way at all that the Republicans nor the Democrats should be in the way of anything when our own people are hurting. It really is that simple.
When in doubt on what to do the default response should always be love and compassion. And I expect the exact same out of our government.
We really need to pray for Him.

It's also difficult to explain to modern people just how much the Samaritans were demonized and regarded as "the enemy" at the time of this parable. That a *Samaritan* would choose to help the wounded man when the religious leaders of the victim's own people would not -- it carries an extra significance now lost to time. Cheers!

We must all be cautious so that we do not assume that everything we do is as God wills it. We have free will, and we must never assume that our decisions are beyond reproach just because we take communion.
Mike Johnson is the latest poster boy for Christianity, people do not make distinctions between Christian denominations and measure people like Johnson as the yardstick for who Christians are. People do not want to be like Mike Johnson’s or the Jetset prophets, it is what drives people away from faith. Thank you for being different!
I have started to read scripture in spirit and truth.. I find that reading scripture from my spirit's perspective rather than from my human perspective, I attain greater context.
Also when when I am to take a moral or ethical action, I will refer to the behaviors and teachings of Jesus to use as my guide.
God sent Christ to save our spirits so that upon completion of our mortal tenure on this planet, we can return home and exist eternally with the Father's in His kingdom; I believe that God assigned His only begotton Son, Christ, to exist in human form as Jesus the Nazerine so that Jesus could physically demonstrate the Father's expectations of how we mortals should conduct ourselves as humans.
Through His teachings, Jesus Christ provided us with many guidelines. He warned us of Satan's deceptions, He gave us insight into His Father's love, He taught us how to interact with others and how we should worship the Father. But Christ also left us with two overriding commands, the first to love the Lord thy God with all our heart, soul, and mind. And the second is to love our neighbor as ourselves.
When it is within our power to do so, We should always help others in need

I'm so grateful that you just laid this out there so truthfully. And I love your choice of scripture. It encouraged my faith walk. I tend to question myself alot mainly because of some early childhood trauma I live with. But I know who I am in this scripture. I'm the person that pulls my car over and gives what I have to the homeless I see. I thank God that He filled my heart with compassion for the suffering. God is so good to us.

I live in the "Bible Belt, but not in the heart of it. What I've discovered about evangelicals is that for some strange reason, their knowledge of the Bible does not transfer over into the way they live life. I have had the personal experience of some who are singing away in their cars with "worship music" and "praising God;" but then go from the car into a store and try to steal something. Or be rude and disdainful to others. Mike Johnson appears to be in this group. I just don't get it. (I'm a Catholic Texan, Dem).
veronicapaderewskigold. I live deep in the Bible belt. I don't know what gospel or religion that is but where I come from preachers take their jobs seriously. No adultery, no stealing, no hautiness, no arrogance no fake region. Preachers where I live preach the gospel if Jesus. All of it not just parts that make people happy. They preach the goodness of God they also preach the judgment of God. Like I said, they leave nothing out. They love people the young middle aged and the elderly. They live for the church and their congregation snd for Jesus. I lowered I come from. Its been that way all my life and I am now 80 yrs old and am going home yo be with Jesus anytime. Listen people, it's not about a preacher who can tell u what you want to hear but a preacher in love that will tell us the way that God expects us to live. And when our life is over we know where we are going. Where we belong. I don't know preachers like you are talkigabout. I can't say they aren't saved but if they are, yhey sure need repentance. Thsnk you Jesus for loving us.
