- Dave Matthews Band performs "Tripping Billies" at the Farm Aid concert in Louisville, Kentucky on October 1st, 1995. Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

I just have to say how much this comment kicks ass. I am going to assume you play drums. But as a rythem guitarist myself I know exactly what you mean and that connection between Carter and Dave is at a level most can not match

I just realized that this concert took place 17 years ago today. I got halfway through it and came to the realization. I live in Kentucky and, as a hardcore Dave fan, had no idea this even happened. I just lost all my cookies.

I was 16. This song made me love this band.

Fake acoustic I'm willing to bet that Dave was talked into playing that. He caught a lot of greef from producers and such for always being on acoustic which became part of the band's legacy. This is why old timer dBm fans like myself get so annoyed with Tim Go I g overboard on ghe electric in concerts
