Of everyone telling Mark "You did what you had to do". Eve understood that Mark knew it as well but didn't deserve to be put into the situation to feel the pain, fear and guilt. And Mark needed to hear it out loud.
No one wins in Mark’s situation. No protecting, no vengeance none of that saves ANY part of this. All you have is a LOT of hurt people in an unimaginable amount of pain. And if there IS an afterlife Aangstrom won’t be ok in ANY reality.
There’s a massive divide between the right thing to do and the necessary thing to do. And I’ve heard many make it sound WAY too easy to know what they would do at their most basic of instincts. And everyone always focuses on the powers being what you use to decide who is in control. And in the superhero world, ALL of them, the hero is the one in control of himself and/or learning how to control himself. While the villain is always lacking restraint no matter how controlled/controlling they seem. And when that line has to be crossed for the hero…it devalues their efforts. Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, all have to be at the PEAK of control to get the ultimate result they desire. Mark…fell to what Omni-Man did to him. What could be worse?
Poor Old Eve put current Eve in a REALLY rough position and Mark being the ultimate decider only makes things worse. That’s a hard situation for ANYONE. Much more for 2 teenagers.
Love this comment and agree 100%. Mark isnt ready to have that conversation with Eve and while old Eve put her younger self in that situation i think she has the wisdom to know that it would hurt less in the long haul to know one way or the other if he loves her and can have closure. Old eve went 20 years no knowing and oftentimes the unknown is the worst part
@@KalElCanFlyone of the worst circumstances I’ve had was a friend who ultimately decided to drop contact with me without giving me their reasoning and it drives me crazy to this day why. And that decision changed everything I knew about the friendship we had. And it’s someone I believed would tell me what’s wrong. And I could feel safe doing the same. That not knowing what changed and that decision will never leave me. So I do absolutely get the desire of the confirmation.
A bit different here in the perspective now Mark knows a deep feeling of Eve’s she didn’t tell him and that completely shakes up the approach to that. Because now there’s pity, there’s desperation, the ease of receiving a relationship and not earning it or working for it, all of that that wasn’t on the table for Mark and he’s saddled with dozens of emotions to work through on that. And Eve could have secured an inevitability to not know because of those feelings Mark may or may not want to be apart of.
In the comics it was the real Spider-man. Don’t think they got the all clear to use him on the show. The actor voicing agent spider was the voice of spider-man in one of the animated shows I think..
