I love the way the story is coming together. I mean every year they throw something in SOO dramatic like this. I really do enjoy it so much. Stendan is the one thing that drew me to Hollyoaks after JP and Craig left, but seeing the connection and the love that will always remain, it's just so awesome. I hope this brings them together. ^.^
i liked the Ste & Brendan scene so much. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think it's the 1st REAL conversation they had since ILY episode. No arguing, sniping, sass, blackmail, conditions, violence. Just equally listening to each other. Brendan is so calm today. He's nice today but violence tomorrow. (it won't last he'll be back to his Old violence self) I hope if not lovers then best friends like Ste & Amy. In the meantime I adore Stug so much.

thats one thing I love about Ste relationship with Brendan. not justing talking stendan aspect but Ste could always translate Brendan reaction and just how he handles stuff. He knows Brendan won't ask for any help or show like its not tearing him up inside that just makes Ste a better person overall. all the stuff Brendan does he can put it aside just to be a friend showing some compassion.
Ste is such a darling. He's really an amazing friend to everyone he cares about. Wish I had a Ste... I love vulnerable Bren and how much he loves his sister. Brendan likes to play the lone wolf card, but you can tell he is screaming out for someone to hold him here. I mean, one of his oldest friends was just murdered and he thinks it's his fault. He is probably dying inside and wishes he had Ste to help him through it.
One of the writers for this show said that Ste and Brendan weren't over. Two things had to happen before they got back together, 1. Ste had to stand on his own two feet and be Independent. And 2. A huge life changing event had to change Brendan. After those two things happen they can be possible again, and hey what do you know, those two things have now happened. As the writers themselves have said THEY AREN'T OVER!

Well, we all know this is the after math about Linsey´s death. Somehow it is still something that is still one way or another touching. Love to see the actresses with no makeups and dare to show their real faces and emotions. The Macqueens sisters still play the center roles, maybe it is their long contract with Hollyoaks, but I don´t blame them, cause it would be weird if the whole village changes. Did I miss John Paul? 100% agreement. I don't think the question here is who Ste loves b/c I think he loves them both in different ways. I think here the question is who he knows. And right now he knows his ex better than his bf,and that means he responds better to the needs of his ex better than his bf.
Ste's scene with Cheryl were so sweet. I know alot of us are gushing over the Stendan scenes but to me it's Ste & Cheryl scenes (not just this episode) that are so moving to me. I adore that they r still in each others lives & she supports Stug because even she knows Brendan is not good enough for Ste. They would make great in-laws but not yet. I think Ste's priority is to Cheryl 1st since she is Lyndsey's bestie. There's no denying Ste care, but I don't think Ste loves Brendan anymore.

i don't think the question here is if he'll fall back in love with him, the feelings are still there, he never stopped loving bren. they are however hidden and i think ste knows that they're still there. he's doing the same thing with doug as he did with noah - he's using their love and affection for him to drown his true feelings for brendan. by "loving" someone else, he's convinced that he's over brendan. ofc, he despises brendan too. but right now he doesn't have the heart to not support him.
we can't judge if people can or should return to their abuser if the abuser changed so ste should do what he feels not sticking by a moral point that makes him unhappy. that's of course just my opinion too

Jumping on the band-wagon by completely ignoring 99% of this ep so I can divulge in StendanXStoug. I sort of agree that Doug made a transition from friend-love to lover-love but Ste didn't really show the same. I'm not saying Ste feels different but it's possible it's what the writers intended. As for Stendan, they have a crazy amount of chemistry and we were reminded of that in this episode. I think -if not hope- that 'Oaks will have more drama with them. I can't see BB giving Ste up just yet!
the chemisty between stedan is undeniable alot there is really a distinct difference between stug chemistry and stedan chemistry that can't have u going why r wanting this guy or why be with this guy they bring out somthing different
I don't understand Brendan's view on Ste. If he really loved him in a healthy way, he wouldn't have beaten him up several times, not to mention his schemes and manipulations. Some may say "he protected Ste", but I think his mind doesn't go "Ste shouldn't be hurt", but instead "No one else can hurt Ste but me". Don't get me wrong, I love Brendan as a character, but I think he will only succeed in a relationship with someone who can take what he dishes out. Ste is not that person.
I don't think that at the moment Ste thinks or knows that he still loves Brendan, and maybe he doesn't. I'm not sure. Despite that I'm sure that Ste thinks, knows and feels he loves Doug now. But I'm sure in one more thing: Doug is not sure about this whole thing either... He's not sure that Ste or anyone can forget Brendan. I feel sorry for him because of that, even if Stug will be the endgame.
tbh he will only succeed in a relationship if he stops to be violent, he hadn't pleasure when he hurt ste, brendan has known control and manipulation all his life thanks to his father.if he ever changes it will take a long time
I just realized something.. I really don't want to see Stendan anymore. And it's not because Brendan used to beat him and all, Brendan changed for the better. It's mainly because of Ste. I don't know what happened but somewhere along the way I started finding him annoying and I blame the writers :( I guess I wanna see Brendan with an equal sort of person... you know like Walker.

I was a Stendan lover, & as others here, mainly a Brendan/Emmet 1. I've to agree in a certain way, because basically the show never passed the line of the odd passion between the 2. This is why at 1 point I had enough: since they never even explained if B was psychologically truly disturbed etc+main important issue, if they care to have such a badass B, there will be never space for a sort of relation Stug-style x them. Then I mean why not moving on without ruining 2 interesting roles as S&B?
There are people still talking about Brendan and Ste getting back together, because of the chemistry they have together. Ste is going to always love Brendan it is clear, but right now he is in love with Doug, it is natural for Ste to want to be there for Brendan he is going through something major and Cheryl can not be there because she is going through it to so that is why Ste is there who else on the show would be there for the both of them. When you are in pain it is not always about SEX.
I guess I see these scenes as the beginning of the process that eventually leads to Ste and Brendan becoming friends. My argument, which you say is invalid because the show is not real life, IS that the show is not real life. My point is that I prefer fiction that is realistic, i.e., true to the ways humans actually are. I don't want to see Amy give Ste a second chance. Realistically, it wouldn't be good for Amy. I don't want to see Ste give Brendan a second chance. Realistically, it wouldn't be good for Ste. Since soaps are often unrealistic, they may reunite Ste & Brendan, and I may or may not stop watching.
I hope, for Brendan's sake, he does change. In real life, though, there's too much damaging baggage between Ste and Brendan for Ste to have a healthy romantic, sexual relationship with his former abuser. If the story reunites them, then that'll be a soap ignoring reality and sending the "wrong" message, and some fans enjoying the lack of realism (imo).

Ste's scene with Cheryl were so sweet. I know alot of us are gushing over the Stendan scenes but to me it's Ste & Cheryl scenes (not just this episode) that are so moving to me. I adore that they r still in each others lives & she supports Stug because even she knows Brendan is not good enough for Ste. They would make great in-laws but not yet. I think Ste's priority is to Cheryl 1st since she is Lyndsey's bestie. There's no denying Ste care, but I don't think Ste loves Brendan anymore.

i don't think the question here is if he'll fall back in love with him, the feelings are still there, he never stopped loving bren. they are however hidden and i think ste knows that they're still there. he's doing the same thing with doug as he did with noah - he's using their love and affection for him to drown his true feelings for brendan. by "loving" someone else, he's convinced that he's over brendan. ofc, he despises brendan too. but right now he doesn't have the heart to not support him.
we can't judge if people can or should return to their abuser if the abuser changed so ste should do what he feels not sticking by a moral point that makes him unhappy. that's of course just my opinion too

Jumping on the band-wagon by completely ignoring 99% of this ep so I can divulge in StendanXStoug. I sort of agree that Doug made a transition from friend-love to lover-love but Ste didn't really show the same. I'm not saying Ste feels different but it's possible it's what the writers intended. As for Stendan, they have a crazy amount of chemistry and we were reminded of that in this episode. I think -if not hope- that 'Oaks will have more drama with them. I can't see BB giving Ste up just yet!
the chemisty between stedan is undeniable alot there is really a distinct difference between stug chemistry and stedan chemistry that can't have u going why r wanting this guy or why be with this guy they bring out somthing different
I don't understand Brendan's view on Ste. If he really loved him in a healthy way, he wouldn't have beaten him up several times, not to mention his schemes and manipulations.
Some may say "he protected Ste", but I think his mind doesn't go "Ste shouldn't be hurt", but instead "No one else can hurt Ste but me".
Don't get me wrong, I love Brendan as a character, but I think he will only succeed in a relationship with someone who can take what he dishes out. Ste is not that person.
I don't think that at the moment Ste thinks or knows that he still loves Brendan, and maybe he doesn't. I'm not sure. Despite that I'm sure that Ste thinks, knows and feels he loves Doug now.
But I'm sure in one more thing: Doug is not sure about this whole thing either... He's not sure that Ste or anyone can forget Brendan. I feel sorry for him because of that, even if Stug will be the endgame.
tbh he will only succeed in a relationship if he stops to be violent, he hadn't pleasure when he hurt ste, brendan has known control and manipulation all his life thanks to his father.if he ever changes it will take a long time
I just realized something.. I really don't want to see Stendan anymore. And it's not because Brendan used to beat him and all, Brendan changed for the better. It's mainly because of Ste. I don't know what happened but somewhere along the way I started finding him annoying and I blame the writers :(

I do think Ste will always have some feelings for Bren...but Idk it's just hard for me to see Ste/Doug the same as Ste/ Noah...I feel like it's being written that Ste is really in love w/ Doug, and their relationship came about when B wasn't even in the picture at all...and Ste seems to care too much about Doug to tag him along even if he feels he might just be covering up his love for Bren.

I was a Stendan lover, & as others here, mainly a Brendan/Emmet 1. I've to agree in a certain way, because basically the show never passed the line of the odd passion between the 2. This is why at 1 point I had enough: since they never even explained if B was psychologically truly disturbed etc+main important issue, if they care to have such a badass B, there will be never space for a sort of relation Stug-style x them.
Then I mean why not moving on without ruining 2 interesting roles as S&B?
There are people still talking about Brendan and Ste getting back together, because of the chemistry they have together. Ste is going to always love Brendan it is clear, but right now he is in love with Doug, it is natural for Ste to want to be there for Brendan he is going through something major and Cheryl can not be there because she is going through it to so that is why Ste is there who else on the show would be there for the both of them. When you are in pain it is not always about SEX.

I guess I see these scenes as the beginning of the process that eventually leads to Ste and Brendan becoming friends. Obv I don't know the future of anything, just think it's a little crazy to assume that because Ste is being very caring/ compassionate that means he is falling back in love with him. Nadda mean?

My argument, which you say is invalid because the show is not real life, IS that the show is not real life. My point is that I prefer fiction that is realistic, i.e., true to the ways humans actually are.
I don't want to see Amy give Ste a second chance. Realistically, it wouldn't be good for Amy. I don't want to see Ste give Brendan a second chance. Realistically, it wouldn't be good for Ste. Since soaps are often unrealistic, they may reunite Ste & Brendan, and I may or may not stop watching.
I hope, for Brendan's sake, he does change. In real life, though, there's too much damaging baggage between Ste and Brendan for Ste to have a healthy romantic, sexual relationship with his former abuser. If the story reunites them, then that'll be a soap ignoring reality and sending the "wrong" message, and some fans enjoying the lack of realism (imo).

for example by your standards it's not probable/realistic that amy lives with ste and the kids as she was abused by him but here we are non one says it so , sure it's not your case, but sometimes people don't want stendan even if brendan changes because of their war ship not becasue they are really concerned about a realistic portray of dv's outcome imo
