Wow crazy deal on those stones. Wish I was anywhere near Colorado. I'd buy a seconds one for sure. Looks like you have a good edc setup going.
Enjoying your vids and have been subbed for a bit. Its amazing how us EDC folks get never ending joy checking out EDC stuff. One recommendation you might check out since you have a red pen in your kit. The Skilcraft B3 Aviator multipen is an awesome EDC pen imo and it has triple writing functionality. It comes with a black ink D2 insert, a red ink D2 insert, and a .05 mechanical pencil insert. Its been my EDC pen for over 10 years now and its my 2nd favorite EDC item next to my Victorinox One Handed Trekker. The B3 actually gives me a Swiss Army vibe the way it has multiple writing impliments and the twist mech actually has a satisfying snick that resembles the feeling of a SAK. And last time I checked its around $20, so if ya do lose it or somehow break it its not to tragic.
Cheers for the updates mate.
The fancy name for your dump box is a valet tray. 😄
I think you’re right, but that feels like a stretch for this plastic bin 😅
You are working in a testing laboratory that tests polymer with notched specimens?
That’s a coincidence! I work in a laboratory for thermoplastics in Germany. We are performing a lot of FNCTs with notched specimens.
Plastics testing is a small world! We are ISO 17025 accredited and do lots of NCLS tests on HDPE. I don’t know if we do FNCT, but now I’ll have to check
I love my grip6 belt
I think a 3-way cord would be a great investment
I’ve had them before. They seem to break on me. Maybe it’s me, maybe it’s the cords.
For the dump bin: look at the maxpedition tray….
Not bad. I do wonder how much people realistically have ever used the sharpening stone in an edc kit. Imagine you need your knife so much during one day that you blunt it to the point that you need to sharpen it on the go. I think its a novelty item and i prefer to make a more realistic edc kit these days. If something is unused for 2 months it goes out!
I find myself using it for bits of metal that aren’t my knife. Putting a point back on a awl or chisel. Scissor sharpening. And general deburring because I have a lot of custom fixtures around the lab that sometimes just have a sharp bit to knock down and the ceramic stones do great for it. I see your point though, most decent knives have a edge that will last long enough to buck the need for a stone
You are the reason I got myself a Surge after few years of debating myself. They are costly here but got a second hand one in brand new condition. Paired with a longer saw in sheath it is absolutley awesome. Love the rest of the gear but Surge is Surge. Have you seen Daicamping Dl30? Surge clone for 40$. Would love your thought about it
Not bad! Where is the firearm and holster? That is the biggest part if edc.

What do you use the awl for?
It’s a good cleaning tool in general. It can also reach small parts if I fumble them while working on lab equipment… that happens more than I’d like, but retrieving the proper screw is better than replacing it!
Thanks for your reply! I was curious about situations where stitching with an awl might be the solution I never thought of. I used it to bore a hole once but, as far as I know, haven't been in a situation where stitches with an awl would save the day.
Guys they’re called Nip-ex. The K is silent. Americans never get this…
