The cursor composer is what makes it appealing. I haven’t found any alternatives to it this far. Some come close but require more manual approving of files and changes
What does Pear add on top of Continue? All things like chatting, tagging files, editing etc are just part of Continue. I didnt see anything that is not on Continue. Also no crediting of the open source extension, as if he had coded the whole thing
@@davidorsini it is a fair question to ask. If I fork VSC + Continue and demo the basics of Continue without ANY feature added, it is fair to ask what exactly is this project bringing to the table. I have no stakes in any of this, I personally use Continue that is why I was confused to see it demo'd in this video with literally zero changes.
Works well on my machine 😁😁😁 just kidding... It's understandable that a lot still needs to be optimized, but it has a lot of potential... it's just a matter of time...
I also noticed the editing button can be a bit quirky too but the context handling makes up for it lol. Its easy to copy and paste which is nice and smooth
i see some serious issues with it , like i gemini its blocking outeput , like after certain token its stop output, but geminin i more capable of that , and there is not setting for context window , so i think they are deliberately blocking it so it will not be useful to us using free model.....

I found editing button is a bit wonky...but it does the full job well ...if you just use copy paste...the context its very smart about.

Anyone tried it in linux? I have tried it, but the pearAI window never loads, always showing a loading bar.
Worked fine for me. I used both on DWm Arch and Spectrwm Debian. Might be an electron dependency/ network issue?
I'm on 2019 MacBook Pro Intel Ventura 13.6.9 and works alright.....so far.
