  • In the first video in this three part series of videos we discussed the 'test' for establishing whether a vector field F(x,y,z) was conservative (see 'Test if a Vector Field F(x, y, z) is Conservative' at • Test if a Vector Field... ).
In this second video we expand on this concept, and explain how to find the scalar potential function f(x,y,z), once it is established that the vector field F(x, y, z) is indeed conservative.
In the third video we use what we have learnt to solve line integrals of conservative vector fields easily via a version of the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus for line integrals - see 'Fundamental Theorem of Calculus for Line Integrals of Conservative Vector Fields F(x,y,z)' at • Fundamental Theorem of...
Note: There are large overlaps between techniques used in conservative vector fields and finding the scalar potential function, and those used in solving exact first order differential equations - thus some may find our video 'How to Solve Exact First Order Differential Equations' at • How to Solve 'Exact' F... useful.
