  • Hello everyone and welcome back to the channel and a video that has been inspired from a few posts that I have seen recently in the Bolt Action Facebook group. With Warlord Games now having quite a few plastc kits for the British Army range, quite a few people are now taking the opportunity to kitbash new and unique sections.
    One of the main questions that I have seen is will the different kits work together? I have worked on many of these kits over the past year or so and it is a resounding yes that these kits will work together.
    I thought it would be a good idea to make a short video showing some examples of what I have been able to create using the various plastic kits that are available. Hopefully this will be useful in showing how well these kits go together and some of the realluy awesome looking and unqiue figures you can make.

      Cheers Joe, very kind of you buddy! I just think that with so many multi-part plastic kits available there is now so much scope for making really interesting and unique models. For me this year, combining parts from the Dead Man's Hand gunfighter box on Bolt Action kitbashing really demonstrated this. Plastic kits made by two different companies and they combined really well 😀

    Kitbashed me a Canadian radioman with a respirator bag and cutting off the action and barrel of a webley, gotta say it looks pretty good for my first kitbash ever. Gotta work on it but its nice.

      That sounds like a cracking kitbash! With conversions and kitbashing, I've found that it's all about experimenting and seeing what works and what doesn't. Soon you'll remember which kits and parts work for certain projects. The best thing is that you'll have very unique and individual miniatures that nobody will have in their armies 😃👍

    Agreed Ste, Perrys and Black Powder all do match for the bits, arms, weapons etc. You can also add in in metal weapons as well.

      Cheers Leslie. I've said it before but kitbashing and combining different kits is definitely one of my favourite parts of the hobby and always will be. Having a figure or section completely unique to you is always the inspiration to try new and different things 🙂

      I completely agree / the Bren crews are phenomenal. Do you mind me asking what leg/torso combination you used to get them in to the Bren carrier please? Any inspiration you can share with me would be gratefully received.
      PS - I’ve hit the “subscribe” as I really like what you do! Thanks for sharing it. Cheers

    Such a great lot of kit bashing there Ste. I’m looking forward to picking up a box of Italians at Salute this weekend. I mean, I might finish off my British Infantry, 8th Army, US Infantry, Afrika Korps first though. 😂😂😂😂😂. Who am I kidding!!

    • @OnPointHQ
      @OnPointHQ  2 роки тому

      Cheers James! They were all a lot of fun to put together. Ahh the Italians look really nice, I'm sure you'll enjoy working on those. My plan is for a Western Desert themed Italian army but that is many months away. Yes, this is definitely the gamer's curse, too mad projects, enough time. Enjoy Salute! Dom and Martin will be there so keep an eye out for them 😃

I can be quite a messy painter or cut a few corners so not exactly the type of videos people want to see! But if there is anything specific, just let me know 😀

    Interesting video Ste. Do you buy the kits with some builds in your mind already (e.g use that arm with that body), or do you just add to the kitbash stash?

    • @OnPointHQ
      @OnPointHQ  2 роки тому +1

      Cheers Cal. I'll often do a bit of research and have a look at the individual bits and pieces on the sprues but most of the time I get the kits and just see what I can come up with. I always have some arms in the bits boxes that I know will work with most kits so I always have those in mind too 🙂

    • @OnPointHQ
      @OnPointHQ  Місяць тому +2

      I know a few people have used the British Infantry bodies, the short-sleeved arms from the 8th Army box and the Australian hats from the Commonwealth box to make Chindits. I think they would look a bit too neat and uniform. Definitely one I'll need to look at one day 😃👍

    How would you be able to get one 303 type, with the two kits?

    • @OnPointHQ
      @OnPointHQ  2 роки тому +1

      Hey Paul, the 303s are largely the same across both kits but have different style bayonets. The 8th Army have the longer slimmer bayonet while the British infantry box has the shorter style 🙂
