It was never discussed. Last Cervical Fusion c5-7 acdf in March, was in neck brace for 3 months.

2001-yes, it worked. Left side hardware, right side had hip bone graft to help a spinabifida occulta on the anterior of the L-5. I’m 70, and the surgery is still holding 🎉
Thanks for explaining how these work. I've had 9 surgeries and this last one at Medstar was the first use recommending a bone growth stimulator. Please clarify the comment at time mark 1:27..."increase the RISK of healing..." thanks.

Never heard of it. Had c4/5 fused in 2015. Healed wonderfully. I was 42.
Clavicle broke into 3 pieces on Jan 14, 2024 and surgery on Jan 17, 2024
Currently May 17, 2024 with a titanium plate and screws.
Bone is still in 2 pieces.
Doctor prescribed bone growth stimulator which arrived today.
Scariest thing the doctor said to me: "the bones are not merging. i'm concerned about the titanium plate braking"
me: "WTF. why would you say that to me"
Scared as hell and laid off from work with no income.
I hope this works... Starting my Bone growth stimulator for 3 hours per day at the same time frame every day. I'm stressed out
Just received my orthofix bone growth stimulator wearing it around my neck.
@ladyspinedoc My little cat sat on my chest and purred on me almost constantly after I came home from my spinal fusion. My spine fused quickly and it was from pelvis all the way up. I believe that my cat intuitively knew that she was helping me heal. Is this possible?
My mother in law had spinal fusion this was never discussed. She still has problems from the surgery
You just said it will increase my risk of healing from spinal surgery by 5 fold. That means I shouldn't wear the thing because now if I wear it, I'm going to be five times more at risk of not healing. I don't get what you're trying to say
If you mean it will decrease my risk for my spine to heal by fivefold, then you need to learn how to communicate
