What Happened at the Edinburgh Marathon! | RACE RECAP

- If you're new to the channel my name is Tim and I have recently started documenting my journey to a sub3 marathon here on youtube. If you like the video I'd love to have you come on this journey with me!
I learnt a lot from this first Official marathon that I have raced. In this video I went over a few of the things that went wrong during the race and a few things that I think I need to improve and work on to be able to improve over the marathon distance.
I hope you enjoy the video and I look forward to chatting in the comments about what you think you need to work on to improve your own times and overall running experience.

I've got Loch Ness Marathon already booked if you're game 👀
I've set my Runna plan to train me for a 2:50-2:52, so I'm hoping I'll be more than fit enough for the sub 3

Oh man that's awesome, I was looking at doing Loch ness but i think I'm going to go with something down south 👀 should be a bit cheaper than loch Ness for accom haha. Nice bro hope you smash that sub3. I think I'm going to try go for 3:10 and take my time going for sub3 again but plans can change haha I'll see how training goes
I did it in 2022. As you know it started to get warm when going along the coast. I got to 18 miles and I hit the wall, so it was a run walk. Back then I was 60 years old. I’m aiming for the Loch Ness marathon next year. And it’s cooler time of year. Well done to you with your time.👍🏻🏃♂️
@@raymondelliot4605 amazing work in 2022! Have you run many events since? I also might consider Loch Ness Marathon next year but atm haven't confirmed. @@timothytrewinI’ve the Alloa half marathon and the Glasgow half marathon since doing the Edinburgh marathon. I’ve also done cycling events, the Etape Loch Ness and Etape Caledonia. Back in June I did the RTTS (Ride To The Sun). You start in Carlisle and cycle overnight to Cramond on the other side of Edinburgh, 100 miles, I really enjoyed that. One minute riding along with other people and next you’re on your own in the pitch dark in the countryside. Good luck with your future events Timothy. Looking forward to your videos. 👍🏻🏃♂️🚵♂️
@@raymondelliot4605 man those cycling events sound insane 🤯 😮💨 id like to run the Alloa half, heard it's a tough route actually. I've not run any events in Glasgow but they're on the list 😂 thanks, I've got the Scottish half on the 18th booked but training has been so disrupted that it might just be a chill one 😊🙏
@@timothytrewinThe Alloa half is not to bad, until you get to the 11 mile mark and then it’s all uphill. You won’t find it a problem. All the best 👍🏻🏃♂️
Was this your first marathon? Very impressive if so. It's not the easiest course and the conditions were rough at the start. You smashed it I'd say 👍
I did the marathon with my partner in 2022 but I didn't run then nor did I train for it 😅 so other than this one I have done a solo time trial marathon in a similar time. So my first official marathon I've tried to do at a race effort. Thanks so much I appreciate it! 🙏 It was a tough day for it that's for sure haha look forward to seeing your video, and hope you enjoyed watching my vids about Edinburgh race day and the recap ☺️
