When we first start belly dancing, we want to learn all the fancy moves-but they can be difficult! My teaching philosophy is that you should be belly dancing at your very FIRST lesson. That's why I always encourage you to begin with an easy move and find success early. That being said, belly dance is a moving art, (pun intended 😉) and we can improve our technique and joy in the dance every time we practice the easiest moves-even decades after we first learned. 💕 Here's a good playlist to begin: New to Belly Dance, Start Here: bit.ly/JBDNewToBDStartHere
I'm from india. I always wanted to learn belly dance but my family doesn't effort it and i didn't get support from my family. But today i think it can be possible for me to learn belly dance. I think i can do that moves. Starting move is easy. Thank you how you explain this.
Aiwa Habibi! Yes, you CAN learn to belly dance, and I am so glad to be here to help you! 💕 Here is a playlist of more 15 minute beginner classes: bit.ly/JBD15MinClasses ❤
I think you are a great teacher, especially for us older girls. I wish I had learned this when I was young. I probably will never do it, because of my age and aches and pains, but I like the way you break it down so easily. Better than anyone I’ve watched. I hope you get lots of viewers.
Shokrun! Thank you! We older girls need to give ourselves more love-we don't have time to learn everything when we are young! (Check out this video: bit.ly/JBDLateStartI) encourage you to do a little belly dancing with us despite the "aches and pains." I know exactly what you mean! Maybe just do a few hip slides, then take a nice bath in epsom salts and stretch a bit. Or try some hand undulations while sititng in a chair (ua-cam.com/users/shorts9doc2qgjvSc). I don't know your exact situation, but check out our Range of Motion online classes-we go very slowly teaching the essential motions that make up belly dance moves. Maybe start with Shoulders, Arms & Hands as you could do these sitting down.
