I'm upgrading I'll simply install 1TB SSD. while coming to the ram I'll install 16GB single chip more. ?Since tech guys say MIXING ram is not a good idea, Because of single channel/dual channel, etc. In my case, it will be 4GB+16GB=20GB. You have 16gb. Now if you install one more 8gb stick, dual channel system will consider it 16gb overall. Speed will increase by 15-20% but space will be same 16gb. Better to install 16gb ram with same brand and same frequency. You can get same answer in this video at 7:55 onwards.
