🤔 wonder if you could debate the opposite
Very good conversation thank you. Quite a chilling thought that the current bombardment will/might create even more bitterness in future generations, like history is more likely to repeat, sick cycle! unfortunate. Forgiveness that will break this cycle will have to be an absolute miracle.
This was a very good conversation. I think the analysis of the situation in Gaza needed someone who understands more about what is actually happening with, e.g., humanitarian supplies that enter the city and Hamas's treatment of the citizens in whose behalf it claims to fight. I also felt the discussion of proportionality and corporate punishment failed to address the obvious follow-up question: what would you do if you were in Israel's shoes? This felt too platitudinous to me.
Israel is just a failed state. Genocide against the Palestinians. Both the Christian and Jewish religions are very stupid.
Worth mentioning that Jesus has many different images in different cultures through the ages.
probably time for humanity to think outside of the books
Shall we think inside science instead? I'd like that
We Christians, thanks to St. Paul, are post-semetic and universal. Judaism is stuck in the endless suffering that tribalism always brings. Nothing will change until they realize God does not play favourites.
Modern Judaism is a fake Rabbinic Judaism that pretends to be the heirs of the spiritual Hebrew Jews of the Old Testament. The Messianic Jews( the Church)are the real Jews who are circumcised in the heart. Modern Rabbinic Jews are not the spiritual children of Abraham. They follow the Babylonian Talmud and have worked 24/7 for 2000 years destroy the teachings of Jesus and the Messianic Jews who accepted him. The Messianic Jews who accepted Jesus because the Christian Church.
Sadly antisemitism was official doctrine of the Catholic church and C of E until relatively recently when the Pope and Archbishop of Canterbury aplogized.
The Jews have never been forgiven it seems, for not accepting that Jesus was the 'returning Messiah ' that Christians claimed.
Rather ironic as Christians claim 'forgiveness ' is one of their moral virtues.
Glad to read your post- semetic..........would hate to think how much more worse (if it were possible) Christian anti-semitism and cruelty could be (Crusades, Inquistions, Forced Conversations, Burning at the Stake, Programs the Holocust) over the passed 2000 plus years.....yep Paul is one great guy
This UA-cam neglects two main points underlying European antisemitism.
1) Freud concluded the root cause was European abhorrence of the Jewish tradition of circumcision. Which even predated Jesus. When ancient European and Jewish tribes lived near each other, Europeans observed Jewish Rabbis sucking the blood of their infant boys after the procedure. They concluded that Jews had bloodlust, leading to stories of making matzah out of the bones of European children.
2) Martin Luther’s hateful comments about Jews were a response to the hateful comments in the Talmud the Jews wrote about Europeans.
This isn’t to justify antisemitism. Only to point out that there was just as much antigoyism. Our challenge is that we evolved in small groups that became tribes, countries, and civilizations. Our tribalism loves the “in group” and hates “the other, the out group.” Because this is so ancient in our past, we now have neurological, biological, mindless urges to love “our group” and to hate “the other.” Our challenge is to admit to the power of the urge and develop systems to control it.
Christianity is superior to related religions, because our God is everyone's God. It's not supposed to be tribal.
You could have phrased that better. Additionally, being a part of a tribe is fine and good, so being tribal can be good as well, but I think I get what you meant, i.e. that it's also a bad thing.
@@machtnichtsseimann A lesson of Christianity is tribes are wrong. This connects with Rome (I think about it often enough lol) and the Catholic church which shaped the West and individualism. Those who make Christianity tribal ruin it. The two similar religions are living in a dangerous childish phase. Also many Christians are.
Superior in that its god is the worst character in the history of fiction.
@@MrAuskiwi101Allah or Muhammad are objectively worse.
@@MrAuskiwi101yes because it is not fiction
It's not difficult to read chapters like John 8 in a way that encourages antisemitism.
It does not encourage antisemitism but reality and truth. Jesus was and is the promised Messiah and verified that reality by the Resurrection.
@@joevidrineModern day Israel and a vast amount of Judaism is Occultism, Sorcery and Magick. So when evangelicals like Professor Bach and Pastors like John Hagee throw their support for Modern Day Israel they are supporting Kabbalah and the Zohar which are mystical commentaries influenced heavily by egyptianology. It lead to esotericism and Black Magic. It is directly related to paganism in Europe during the Jewish diaspora, masonic teaching, rosicrucianism, hermetic order of the golden dawn and even Crowley's Thelema. This is your Modern Day Talmudic Judaism. It's so antithetical to Christianity, it's arguably as bad if not worse than Islam.
This is what Modern day crackpot Christian Evangelicals are supporting either knowingly or unknowingly. 0:02
1 Thessalonians 2:14-16
14 For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have OF THE JEWS:
15 Who BOTH KILLED the Lord Jesus, and THEIR OWN PROPHETS, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are CONTRARY to (against) ALL men:
16 Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the WRATH is come upon them to the UTTERMOST.
@@Matthew24.4 haha yikes! thanks, that's an even better example. Paul was the original anti-semite. Go and look up some videos by Tovia Singer if you're interested in a Jewish perspective on Paul, especially how he lied about being Jewish himself 😽
The earth is for all.
Fighting over absurdities.
Professor Bach on the one hand right explains the destruction of the Canaanites and let's add Amalekites who did human sacrifice to Moloch and Baal. But the Palestinians living in Gaza are not practicing sacrifice to Moloch or Baal. They are struggling for survival and their meager exists bears no resemblance to the Canaanites or Amalekites! Again this bias and propaganda. Sorry
To be fair Bochs point was that he was explaining the old Testament/Joshua context and God's judgment on those nations. He wasn't equating what happened then i.e. judgement, to what's happening now.
@@markaong I agree with the explanation he made of the OT. And Paul Copan's book "Is God A Moral Monster" was also brought up in the discussion-a book I own. Nevertheless I disagree, bc he was drawing a parallel with Israel in the center of a Islamic geopolitical area and how threatened said country Israel supposedly was or feels. This is preposterous. Israel does deals with Arabic countries all the time where many are even part of NATO and have nuclear weapons.
I'm sorry this is a land grap and mission creep to someday realize a Jewish Theocracy between the nile and euphrates.
Good Luck with that
Judaism is a religion that separates practitioners, so don't blame Christians. The dietary laws, sabbaths keeping, etc. Until the 20th century, Jews didn't even eat together with gentiles due to becoming unclean.
The ignorance that you three exhibit in this discussion tells us that you should go back to school and get educated before trying to discuss things you know very little about.
@joevidrine Well, that's them told then! well done you! 🤣

Bible clearly says who killed Jesus ☝️
Christians never forgave the Jews for showing how Christian’s manipulated their scripture to promote Jesus
Use more a more educated theme when selecting a title for a podcast, not a click bait reaction. Be holy, not a marketer.
Given the history of Christianity which l assume that you might not be aware of due to this comment, this title is very appropriate.
@42:50… I gotta disagree with Professor Bock on this point. Because HAMAS doesn’t exist in the West Bank and the occupation of Israel is brutal to the Palestinians and violence and injustice that from the settlers in the region.
Cathlolicism and Christianity
Not so sure that the desire by Europe/British to be have Jewish people back in Israel was antisemitic. It was the natural impulse to deal with a perennial problem. The solution was a welcome one and hardly hostile.
Subhanallah
Jesus just ordinary man
Mohamed was an ordinar man.
@@Chris-dt5tdMuhammad was no ordinary man. The world would be a better place if he were.
He was an ordinary man born of a virgin, able to raise the dead, and rose from his own death and resurrection. Jesus was the son God who died for the sins of humanity and established the Kingdom of God. This is why Zionist and modern Rabbinic Judaism are attempting to create and evil false kingdom in Israel to try and compete and rebel against the Kingdom of God created by the Messiah Jesus Christ.
organised religion, "the gateway to hell."
I am Christian and the more I live I perceive your point of view is totally right!!
