One thing I have noticed with Dany, when you get her off stage, her vocals are painfully crisp. She gets performing live. She is willing to trade a perfect vocal, for an emotional delivery. You are spot on with her facial expressions. She is totally invested in each song, and wants to SHOW us just that.

That's Dany's rock voice. She does have a clear sound depending on which song she does, usually a solo song. One thing I never hear about is the patience Dany must have had waiting for the younger sisters to grow to her level. Now that's a big sister.

This song is Cheerleader PUNK! It is a fairly simple song, but absolutely well structured. Punk songs are super simple, but powerful. This is more refined Punk, to me. The ability they have to fill out the sound is very Rush-esque. And you are correct when you say they have no idea what is going to happen to them over the next couple of years. They are starting to understand with new workload they have, but when Covid is gone, they are going to explode!

Love the Rush comment, they just play to the max! This is why a trio is by far my favourite format, no matter if it’s rock/blues/bluegrass/country etc theirs nowhere to hide. You get to play out of your skin and not many can do it and achieve that soundstage 👌

Damn, Dave, get out of my head. I was just telling a friend a few days ago how these three gals can fill up a stage with a full sound and it reminded me of how Rush and Triumph did the same thing. As you said, not comparing the bands as you cannot compare anybody to Rush. But for a 3 piece, they definitely make a lot of music. I seriously cannot enough of The Warning. I generally like my music very heavy but these ladies play such excellent, catchy rock and roll music that it is infectious.

  • @jbartyparty7398

First of all, props to you for doing this version of PSY as this performance was absolutely epic! I'm biased since it was my first and only live TW gig, and it will forever hold a special place in my heart, but Aaron T Rokz would know that this is a superlative recording and performance of this track. They just kept getting better and better with each song and the sound kept getting bigger and bigger -- like you said, how are they just a three piece??! -- but honestly it was huge from the start. My god the air Ale pushes with her bass and that Marshall (in this case, or was it an Ampeg?) just blew me away...never expected them to punch such a big sonic wallop.
And I was convinced half way into the first song that they were indeed as special as I thought they were from my online exploration of their material. Dany's voice is much more impressive live and in person and of course when she is conveying that theatrical intrigue when she sings...she was definitely on her A game that night!
It's just a shame that the editing of this entire concert was never finished...think this might have been as far as they got but there was two or three songs left...although the encore Atlas Rise was released. Not sure what happened but it's a shame we never got the full concert as promised since this, from a sound production standpoint, was the best capture of their ferocious power, infectious energy and sonic might. And like you said, this song is both catchy as hell and a rollicking raucous frenzy of punk metal energy. Only a matter of weeks before their new material is released...GIRD YOUR LOINS EVERYONE!!

I'm pretty sure Pau does the scream live. You can sometimes catch a glimpse of her from the front at some venues when she does it.😁 Like you said, this song really has a great vibe. A 90's punk-rock feel, and man do they ever pull it off well! Pau does have Sabian for a sponsor, so she covered in that department! Another fun fact: Not only are Dany's vocals and charactarizations great, but she literally can carry a lead on guitar *while* she's singing! Regular chords are one thing while singing... I've done that myself ...but to play a lead riff while singing on-key?😮 There's definitely some good left brain/right brain separation going on there!😎👍

One thing they really have going for them is different stage personalities - it’s not easy to sum up in words but it works. In recent short video covers Ale has this kind of nasty rock goddess vibe, it’s almost like she’s going to make you stare at her whether you want to or not. And Dany has developed extra power to her voice that’s pretty dramatic. Along with Pau (what can I say there) they are really ready for the big stages - Pau recently said about playing arenas that it’s not if, but when ...

NIce! Dany’s pedal board is a programmable Line 6 Helix which can clone her guitar signal into multiple signals in different octaves with separate effects and delays. Dany and Pau spent a year creating the program for each song. Pau downloads the program to Dany’s pedal board from a laptop on her left running Abbleton Live software. So she can simulate dual leads and other effects which makes their sound more expansive.

Alot of their fullness comes from Dany's VERY UNDERESTIMATED GUITAR PLAYING. She plays leads frequently while singing... like in the second halfs of the verses in this song and in the ohohohohohoh part.... just amazing that she does that, and sounds good doing it with vibrato on guitar while singing great.... EXTREMELY unusual to hear from most guitarists who sing

    Interesting remarks.
Dany is a terrific actor, meant positively. She *is* the Queen of the Murder Scene on stage. Just look at her eyes bulging out of her head. She's practically frothing at the mouth, like an obsessed lunatic, which of course is exactly what the Queen is by this point in the story. Under other circumstances she might have become an opera or Broadway diva. I've never met her (I'm a patreon, and hopefully they'll eventually play in Boston, so perhaps I'd get an opportunity to meet them then), but based on their casual videos and all accounts she's one of the nicest people around, matched by her sisters.
I agree about the (lack of a) guitar solo. That's de rigeur for a lot of bands, like a cadenza in a concerto, but there's no reason it has to be. When she does take a solo in one of their songs, it's to move the music along, not to show off (although there are other videos that demonstrate that she can shred just fine when she wants). There's another story around that a lot of people (including their parents) wanted them to extend Dull Knives, so they tried a few things (another verse, a guitar solo), and decided that the three minutes of head banging bliss was just right, thank you very much, and it's awfully hard to argue with that decision. Knowing when to stop is just as important as knowing when to go.
I watched the video where Dany explains her pedalboard setup and the signal paths she's using. But I think part of the reason they get so much out of the three instruments is that Ale can do so much more than just underpin the music.

For the life of me,I'll never know why why this wasn't released as a single...it screamed LISTEN TO ME ! Their ability to write such catchy hooklines,is unreal, and is so completely displayed in this awesome Offspring/Avril Lavigne/Glitter Band mash-up. How funny is the comment at 14:59...Pau actually does have a deal going with DW, REMO, SABIAN and Vic Firth drumsticks..she mentioned it once on a Pau Day rig rundown...but I guess you get that when you are the best female drummer on the planet.

You’re right about Pau using DW’s, Remo, Sabían and Vic Firth’s but the only one of these she has a deal with is Sabían, where she is a sponsored artist. They were due to meet with the Vic Firth company in 2015 while they were at Berklee when unfortunately Vic Firth died so the meeting was cancelled.
Her studio DW’s and a touring set were gifted by fans. Previously they’ve often rented drums for shows.

Hey, master, how could you explain those naturals movements in a teenager who never saw Simmons???

    • @THEDavidHeretic
      @THEDavidHeretic  3 роки тому +1

The lurking...high-knee stepping...slightly hunched....sudden quick movements followed by slow methodical motions....the squatting down then jumping up.....stuff like that. there's probably tons of live footage of Kiss back in the 70's on UA-cam.

@@manuelorbegozo8003 Possibly....but I know from my own personal experience that it took a lot of practicing in front of a mirror to get my movements and motions down to where it looked natural.

David - This is my favorite version of PSYCHOTIC. Dany really sells the song here. Since you enjoy watching Ale, check this out. A few months ago, you reacted to their pro shot version of Atlas Rise (same show, by the way). Unfortunately, in that video, you didn't see much of Ale. This fan video from Ale's side of the stage shows her cruising through the song (with leg kicks) like an old pro. She had just turned 14 here the month before. ua-cam.com/video/TtWHkBbDYeA/v-deo.html

Ale looked absolutely exhausted, but she soldiered on as the consummate professional that she is.

Could u react to some Falling In Reverse.
This band will blow your fucking mind especially the recent stuff.
The lead singer Ronnie Radke is one of the best vocalists alive right now
First one I recommend is the song Popular Monster to start you off
It contains Rap, Metal, Rock and its so good.
Then step into the song I'm Not A Vampire then in the same video watch the remade version called I'm Not A Vampire Revamped and its one of the best fucking remakes of a song you'll ever hear
    You will LOVE this band
Btw Ronnie Radke LOVES to react to people reacting to his music on youtube on his twitch so he may see yours and give your channel a shoutout.
Popular Monster and I'm Not A Vampire Revamped will blow your fucking mind
