I saw TOTO live on April 15th, 2023 at Snoqualmie Casino and recorded a few of the longer solo's, Steve Lukather Guitar & Robert Searlight (Sput) on Drums and was blown away at how good the recordings sounded from my iphone 13 - I was blown away by how clean the sound was, the bass was well defined, drums sounded tight and all of the instruments and vocals came thru beautifully. From what I have come to learn TOTO have always been very uncompromising with the quality of their live mixes and demand DVD quality, regardless of venue, from their sound engineers. Quite impressive work from everyone involved.

Yes usually they are blasting you out, nice to hear they got a good mix. I saw Genesis back in the 70's when Bill Bruferd had done a stint with them, two things I remember, two drummers on stage never goes well, that's why it is so rare, and two, he kept banging a big china cymbal, why I have no idea, because I have never heard a china on any of there early stuff, maybe it was just something new he was trying, but it sounded terrible, and he hit a lot I guess, he liked it.

Thanks for the comment, Sean! Interesting experience with Genesis; I never did see them live. But 2 drummers at a big concert? Ugh!! I've also never been a fan of big cymbals....cheers!

@@bacontrees Oh I don't mind a big cymbals, but I don't much like the sound of a cymbals that are called "China" cymbals, they look like regular cymbals but the outer edge is turned up and they sound like someone striking a garbage can lid, very dissonant, much like a lot of instruments from China. The reason they are dissonant is to frighten away the evil spirts, some what like the Scottish bag pipes were to scare their enemies.
