GDP will be decreased and inflation will increased as all the years after 2012 had bjp government with higher GDP growth and lower inflation (except COVID year but that year is abnormal so can't be taken for bas year ) , so when u compare new date with those years it will show reduced GDP and higher inflation. Simple math

That doesnt matter for common ppl, 😅 We will still be a high "low income" country, it will probaby take another 7 8 years to reach 5k $ per capita which is sort of respectful as a middle income economy but we need massive reforms to get past that middle income trap

People who are wondering what effect it will bring , so basically if any year taken after 2013 then gdp is much higher and inflation is much lower in all those years under bjp government , so when new data is compared with good performing year than it will reduce the new GDP number and increase inflation number when compared with 2012 which had low gdp growth and high inflation of Manmohan era . So new gdp will be decreased slightly and inflation will increase slightly . Due to new calculation , but nothing much P.s. only year that can inflate gdp number is covid year , but that cant be used as base as it was abnormal . .

Otherwise we would still be calculating our GDP and inflation having 1950s as base year ! 😅 if today we have certain inflation %, why do u want to calculate ur expenses on the real income levels of 2011 !! Thats like saying today a chocolate costs 10rps but my grand dad had per month salary of 10 rupees too !!!😂😂

Why can't base year just be the previous year ? Why fixed year that's 4-5 years back ?

It is only the tact of the government to manuplate the numbers and reduce the DA effect for employees and exaggerate the GDP number
