    I have no other way to move a blind but by muscle. I do like the idea dismantling and transport. I am going to build my next blind in a similar fashion.

      The concept it great for that; and to build one is easy but for a property with a bunch of them it would be a lot. I have heard the prices are much lower…$1,200 ballpark now

    WOW! First of all, that is awesome that you get a bunch of great sponsorship stuff like this free of charge! Someday our channel might get popular enough to achieve that dream! That being said, it looked like a decent enough installation project, so I'm glad it worked out for you guys! Now I'll wait for my invite to hunt this new tower stand! Cheers! :0

    It’s Great you have your buddy to help 😄 screwing in the corner is a great idea black in the walls with black garbage bags and you could put old ski 🎿 on the bottom and pull with 4 wheeler or your tractor 🚜 Or take it apart and put it in your best spot Good luck

  • @leocapoccia9073

    We have found that these type of corners leave a large blind spot. Deer are unpredictable in their movements and could easily be close to you without you being aware!! If your windows are to tall, and you can see sky, they can essentially be narrowed! Over building with 2 x 4’s for the walls causes unnecessary weight. These are temporary structures, no need to go crazy with the construction. I built a new one this year, scissored two trees close to 8 feet apart with 2 x 6’s. Built a platform on top 5 x 5 and used cross bracing under the deck back to the trees. Anchored the PT with 6 inch structural bolts driven into each tree! It’s 14 feet off the ground, no legs to the ground, reducing the obvious footprint. Ran out of time to build out the walls and roof, so I mounted an Ameristep T pee tent on top for this season. Have built the 4 x 4 box at home for next year, I think the Camo tent will be fine this season. Added a 3 sided shooting rail inside the tent, 11/18 opening day of gun season!! Can’t wait to get in this blind. Last year was in a ladder stand in this location and froze my Butt off. New York in November/December can be brutal!!!

    Good looking blind Joe, could definitely be tightened up with some extra wood screws. Real door and windows are a big plus. I may look into getting some windows for my new one. Going to staple up some camo wrap inside this year to darken it up, at least the upper third. I see another project for you with building 8 foot base with 4x4's that it pops right into. Maybe next Spring. Good luck with it.

    • @JoeTheFarmer
      @JoeTheFarmer  Рік тому

      Thanks Tom! Your ideas are right in line w mine. I see a base -or- a trailer in this blinds future!

  • @PineyGroveHomestead
    @PineyGroveHomestead Рік тому +2

    I've built 2 4x4s and 2 5x5s in a very similar manner as those. Take them to the property disassembled and then assemble on 12' tall platforms. The oldest ones are 11 years old and I just replaced the ladder and porch this weekend for the first time. With the price of lumber I think the ladder and porch rebuild cost as much as the original condo! 😥

    • @JoeTheFarmer

      Interesting to see how it sets up in a hunt. Definitely see an application; and built well! Just wonder if this would be bought over a redneck or muddy bull.

      I don’t disagree brother. They are expensive. It did go together easily and I can see how someone would find value in it…but the price would be a problem for me too. Maybe they will get the price down with scale. 🤷🏻‍♂️. Hope you had a great season!

    Nice blind, but more important than anything is there enough room for a beer cooler. Wonder if it could be raised up and mounted on poles to see out farther. Made well, easily transported with a tractor with pallet forks and just the right size for two hunters. Lots of possibilities

      Utilizing 0SB (pressed wood) really isn't an issue IF ... you give a couple heavy coats of quality exterior latex paint.
      I built a shed several years back out of 1/2" CDX plywood as a small cabin.
      I also built a sh#thouse out of scraps of 7/16" 0SB.
      Both were painted with the same number of coats of exterior stain.
      Some of the p.ywood got few rot spots whi.e the 0SB looked as good as new.
      Its Important to fill the grain completely, N0T just add some color; I think a 9" roller works best
