Why doesn’t Netflix just put out movies of odd lengths? It’s not like they’re charging people admission prices and expecting them to see it all in one go. I wouldn’t mind a 70 minute film, or a 4 hour long epic that I could break into chunks or binge all at once.
They don’t have to, that’s my point. I don’t need someone telling me what the maximum and minimum size for digestible content should be. I also don’t need some contrived cliffhanger ending to each episode... I’m perfectly capable of pausing a movie and picking it up later.
George they have their own statisfics for sure... if they see that all people watch 40 minute episodes to the end but not all people watch a movie that is longer than 2 hours to the end then they will make series or a 2h movie at most... I wouldn't mind as well if a movie was 4 hours long but we aren't the majority I guess
I just feel like some writers are being hindered by their format. Game of Thrones lately has been trying to cram some sort of “oh shit” moment at the end of their episodes to the detriment of the pacing. It feels either rushed or like a filler. I just want it delivered in whichever format makes the most sense. The Hobbit might have been a fine 3.5 hour movie, or even shorter.
I didn't even realize it was Thomas Jane for a good hunk of the film - best acting I've seen from him. Enjoyed this, but just released Dave Fincher produced "Mindhunter" is maybe the best series Netflix has produced!
I love Thomas Jane! He's super underrated, he's given so many great performances, whether it be Boogie Nights, Stander, Punisher, The Mist, Hung, Dirty Laundry or this! I'm very excited to see him in the upcoming Shane Black Predator film.
The same happened with me. He mastered the country/Southern accent and delivered an amazing performance. The Actor that played his sound did a great job as well.
Thomas Jane completey captivated me and blew me away with the effort he put into the character. Oscar worthy performance. I watched it twice just so I could watch him play the character all over again. I'm not sure I would have enjoyed it as much if he weren't in the movie. Bravo Tom, Bravo 👏👏👏
Nathaniel Strangman - I’ve never read the book and I know it’s better but as a film, it’s terrible. Seriously. The ending action sequence lasted 15 seconds and Jake Chambers was only captured for like a minute. It was so anticlimactic lol
It's the weakest of the recent Stephen King adaptations... Christ, I think you forgot the actual weakest adaptation... or apparently the most forgettable one: The Dark Tower.
BWGgy I thought that movie was a mess. Parts of it were great, but it has a shitload of flaws too. The worst final ten minutes to a movie all year chief among them.
Adit Jonathan I never thought The Godfather was that amazing. Don't get me wrong, it's a great movie, and I've seen it twice, but second highest rated movie on IMDb? Really?
I love this setup SOOOO MUCH can we keep something like it? It’s so colorful and alive, the lighting looks so professional. The normal setup is honestly boring
You’re the first UA-cam reviewer I’ve completely agreed with. I like your take on 1922. It could have been shorter and did drag on at times. I really enjoyed this film and Thomas Jane’s performance was his best, far as I’m concerned. I didn’t even feel like I was watching TJ, and I think that’s the best compliment you can give an actor. I kept searching his face and I could not find him. He deserved an Oscar. Btw, I enjoyed your review so much, I subscribed to you!
I watched this last weekend and can't wait to add it along with *Gerald's Game* and 2017's *IT* to my Stephen King collection! It's great seeing one of my favorite but most often inadequately adapted authors' works finally making a major comeback. Love him or hate him, there's NO denying the work ethic he's put in over his career. Aside from the colossal misfire that was *The Dark Tower,* this whole year has largely been a sign that King's stories have plenty of fight & fright left in them. 👍
You're absolutely correct, Thomas Jane's performance was magnificent. I, too, am blown away. Compare it to his performance in HBO's Hung, and the range is undeniable. Just, color me impressed.
I saw it on Netflix last night, didn't even know they made it into a movie, and had no expectations, thought it was really good movie, what stood out for me was how it had some scary shit happen in it and the movie didn't rely on jump scares to get you, it had some Kubrick's The Shining vibes to it too
I think Thomas Jane deserves some sort of award or at the very least should get more work for his performance in this movie. I've been a fan of his since the punisher like a lot of people and I've seriously never seen him better. One of the best performances of the year by far.
Hey man i just went from this review to your 1st VHS horror movie review and I just wanted to say that your dentist did a great job, your jaw line is square now and your speech is clearer. This may be due to time and practice as well but your confidence seems very high as you deliver these. Good for you sir. Oh and youre the my go to guy from movie opinions. Thank you and keep it up
I loved this review Chris especially the comment about it being "taught". It was so well realised in relation to the novella. It was exactly how I imaged while reading, even down to the dank rooms and the long road leading up to the house. I often feel sorry for you having put all this hard work into reviews only to be rewarded with endless review requests. Review what makes you happy, and keep up the good work dude! ^_^
Damn it Chris,I haven't had much sleep cause I stayed up late and got woke up by someone driving a bobcat in my apartment complex moving trees... And NOW you upload??? 😭😭😭
What about the dark tower? just because is really bad doesn't mean in not a King adaptation. Looks ok maybe I will see it when I finish my horror classics marathon. I'm with Nightmare on Elm Street now. Regards.
you must be very simple minded my friend, if you think that having good status reflects your intellect and way you think. Many people with good status can be dumb.
after cracking the egg in your pan, you need to let it simmer until the area around the yolk turns white. While it is doing so, add some seasoning to it such as some salt, some pepper, a pinch of garlic powder, etc. Then, once the egg has started to slightly brown around the edges, being gentle, lift the egg with your wide head spatula, and transfer it to the bottom part of the bagel/muffin we toasted earlier, and now your done with step 2 - 4.
Thanks for all the great reviews Chris! Just as soon as I start thinking "hmmm, I wonder if Chris will review this.." Boom! You have the review up, awesome job!
I watched this movie and I have to say I loved it! It was so mysterious and had it's funny moments. It just shows you, you can't run away from stuff...rats will find you ;)
I loved Thomas Jane in The Expanse, he is an amazing actor. I'm not interested in this movie at all, but the fact that i could simply see more of him in it is hard to resist.
Thanks for the recommendation!! This was a really good movie. If there were a Netflix version of the Golden Globes, Thomas Jane and Dylan Schmid would definitely be getting some nominations.
I love this movie! And Gerald’s game too. The Directors are finally taking serious the SK’s stories. Now this adaptations have decent budgets and good actors too. I’m really happy with this SK’s adaptation fever. :) Love your reviews bro :)
Preview Review .....On “IT”...love it! I really like It. I love the old adaptation, that one was scary as hell, but this new one is pretty faithful to the book and I like that. I wasn’t scare at all but I’ve really enjoyed the movie. It’s a horror movie for kids. The casting is amazing and that freaking clown...OMG.
Never read the book. But this film was brilliant. And you are totally right, Thomas Jane's acting is just amazing, all of it was acted so well, the tone of the film at times really made me feel uneasy. Excellent film, really worth viewing.

Yeah man, I wouldn't have paid attention if I hadn't have heard he worked on it. He did The Place Beyond the Pines which is an excellent film to if you haven't seen it.
Agree with you 100%, the biggest issue with this film is the pacing, even if it's not a long movie it drags a little. But it keeps you interested through the entire film and i really like the ending.
I found it interesting that Hemmingford Home is part of King's universe as it's where the wise old African-American lady (Ms. Freemantle) lived in "The Stand" and is apparently mentioned in a few of his other novels and stories.
Kind of surprised Chris didn't mention but you gotta give props to the film for not having a single jump scare. There are a few scenes that in hindsight would be blasting with scary music if it was made by someone else. Instead a lot of the biggest scares and tension scenes are silant.
Do The GODFATHER already, Chris. Come on, show some respect to Don Corleone. Do it, Chris. Before i make you an offer you can't refuse. ///Note i copyed this comment. to make chris see it.
This guy nailed his character.
Absolutely mind-blowing that he was The Punisher back in ‘04 eh???
Yes he did
Amen!
Yep! And I forgot this is not his first King-adaptation film!
Who else watching in 1922?
I am
Me too
I did
No, 2026
No, 9030
4th. You forgot Dark Towers, but that’s understandable.
John Samuya Hahaha
I'm easily entertained by movies which have weak plot/characters but still, Dark Tower was the worst movie I've seen in the past 5 years.
I think we all agreed that movie never happened. lol
he said after IT
And last year there was 11/22/63. Wasn't a movie and was a bit ago, but I've never seen anyone talk about it, and it was really good.
Why doesn’t Netflix just put out movies of odd lengths? It’s not like they’re charging people admission prices and expecting them to see it all in one go. I wouldn’t mind a 70 minute film, or a 4 hour long epic that I could break into chunks or binge all at once.

yeah Thomas Jane was spot on.
Attic Hatch Sound I'm glad he's being noticed finally. Wonderful actor
The same happened with me. He mastered the country/Southern accent and delivered an amazing performance. The Actor that played his sound did a great job as well.
I never knew it was Thomas Jane until I watched this review, OMG This is his best performance yet
I’ll have to check it out, thanks dad
Watermelon Monsterman Stuckman inseminated alot of adult women when he was a teenager
WHAT?!
@@dominantpersona3326 he also also pretty busy in middle school.
Guys it’s obviously a joke
2020, just rewatched it. Love this. Thomas Jane is such an underrated actor.
Chris The Dark Tower also came out this year, deffinetly the worst movie of the bunch !
22freedom33 - I had to suffer through that movie for my new review channel.
what kind of neighbours do you have
Nah... I am pretty sure that I haven't seen anything related to the dark tower books this year
But it made me start reading the books though, so it was good for that at least
22freedom33 Nah it was good
The effort Chris puts into his background is dope.
Fiji I agree with the statement above.
The 4th if you include The Dark Tower... eww.
Garrett McDowell lol i really liked that movie
Garrett McDowell We don't talk about that movie. It never happened.
That movie needs to be buried deep...very deep
Nathaniel Strangman - I’ve never read the book and I know it’s better but as a film, it’s terrible. Seriously. The ending action sequence lasted 15 seconds and Jake Chambers was only captured for like a minute. It was so anticlimactic lol
Scott Sullivan Also the runtime was an hour and thirty minutes. Horrible runtime for a Dark Tower movie
I was really impressed with 1922 and Gerald's Game. It'd be amazing if Netflix would make a series of The Stand.
Yep
Careful what you wish for.
I was blown away by Thomas Jane's acting. Deserves Oscar nomination imo.
If Chris grew up in 1922 he would be 95 years old.
ThaTzZ D JoB I'm tired of these jokes. Come up with something new.
Starhunter tell that to Zod's snapped neck..sorry i had to 😁😁😁
ThaTzZ D JoB Stan Lee was born in 1922.
C41 Alek That's worn out too
Starhunter i know 😀
It's the weakest of the recent Stephen King adaptations...
Christ, I think you forgot the actual weakest adaptation... or apparently the most forgettable one: The Dark Tower.
MaJuV he forgot it... get it
I thought this was way better than IT and Gerald's Game, personally
Mark A. Better than it? I think not. Agree with you on geralds game tho
same
BWGgy I thought that movie was a mess. Parts of it were great, but it has a shitload of flaws too. The worst final ten minutes to a movie all year chief among them.
Agreed. This is a masterpiece.
Agree
The ending gave me chills. If they put a literal "the end " on the scene where the "ghosts" are in front of him, I wouldn't have complained at all.
Really like your taste in films and great channel glad I found it
Toby fereday welcome :)
Thomas janes acting was so good I didn't even know it was him. His expressions and total emersion were amazing.
Love Thomas Jane. His portrayal of Detective Miller in The Expanse... just wow.
Chris "one of my favorites" Stuckmann.
Chris "I grew up with these characters" Stuckmann
“Third King adaptation” sooo we are not going to talk about The Dark Tower...
J Tri never again
J Tri I know only the tale of two towers
J Tri no
Absolutely not
Shhhh...
Do The GODFATHER already, Chris.
Come on, show some respect to Don Corleone.
Do it, Chris. Before i make you an offer you can't refuse.
Adit Jonathan yes ! Its about time
Adit Jonathan I want him to review Trainspotting as well but he still hasn't done it.
Adit Jonathan I never thought The Godfather was that amazing. Don't get me wrong, it's a great movie, and I've seen it twice, but second highest rated movie on IMDb? Really?
We need all three parts!
Jonathan Sefcik i respect your opinion. But im totally sure millions of people don't agree with you, mate.
I love this setup SOOOO MUCH can we keep something like it? It’s so colorful and alive, the lighting looks so professional. The normal setup is honestly boring

Review Auditorium 6. I heard it's good!!
When I think Thomas Jane I think of The mist, stander, boogie nights, The punisher, deep blue sea....
Now I think of 1922... excellent performance
Fourth King adaptation actually.. you forgot "the dark tower"
Dreadlord 007 What's a "Dark Tower"?
most people have forced themselves to forgot it exists
We don’t talk about the dark tower
The novella is really good. As is the whole collection, 'Full Dark, No Stars'. Read it.
I watched this last weekend and can't wait to add it along with *Gerald's Game* and 2017's *IT* to my Stephen King collection! It's great seeing one of my favorite but most often inadequately adapted authors' works finally making a major comeback.

Thomas Jane is incredible in this film. I've seen it 3 times now, and the ending is so chilling. Great work.
You're absolutely correct, Thomas Jane's performance was magnificent. I, too, am blown away. Compare it to his performance in HBO's Hung, and the range is undeniable. Just, color me impressed.
Keep up the good work Chris!

Wow Chris, loving the cool graphic t-shirts! Keep it up, buddy!
Jane has always been a really fantastic actor. Good to hear he's still bringing it.
Please review Mindhunter! If you have the time to watch it.
I think Thomas Jane deserves some sort of award or at the very least should get more work for his performance in this movie. I've been a fan of his since the punisher like a lot of people and I've seriously never seen him better. One of the best performances of the year by far.

Review the babysitter
4/10
I got 10 minutes in. If I'm bored I'll finish it
Michael Anderson It's complete garbage 0/10
I had fun with the camera work. Very well done as far as that but everything else was kinda corny. Fun popcorn movie.
Michael Anderson I'm being generous.
Thomas Jane...EXTREMELY GOOD and UNDERRATED actor.
He sure loves his Stephen King adaptations tho
Just watched this, one of the best movies I've seen this year easily
I loved this review Chris especially the comment about it being "taught". It was so well realised in relation to the novella. It was exactly how I imaged while reading, even down to the dank rooms and the long road leading up to the house. Please review Only The Brave! That movie was so great!
Wheelman review?
Yes please. Watched this and 1922 tbe same night. I'd love to hear what Chris thinks of it.
Disappointed but i want him to review it
Wasn't that good
better than Baby Driver ,almost as good as Drive imo. Great movie.
The way the movie was shot was really cool. I thought it was a good movie, had a lot of fun watching it.
Love your setup and shirt for this festive Halloween review! Also your tattoo peaking out from your sleeve looks totally rad :)
What about the dark tower? just because is really bad doesn't mean in not a King adaptation. Looks ok maybe I will see it when I finish my horror classics marathon. I'm with Nightmare on Elm Street now. Regards.
Loving your videos! Best channel on UA-cam for me at the moment 👍
Please review "The Autopsy of Jane Doe" !
Walid Sidi Saïd definitely!
You uploaded this right when I finished watching this movie!! Loved hearing Penderecki in a couple scenes.
a character who's smart, but lives around corn in a stephen king story? nah, not buying it.
you must be very simple minded my friend, if you think that having good status reflects your intellect and way you think. Many people with good status can be dumb.
He wasn’t that smart

Thanks for all the great reviews Chris! Just as soon as I start thinking "hmmm, I wonder if Chris will review this.." Boom! You have the review up, awesome job!
I watched this movie and I have to say I loved it! It was so mysterious and had it's funny moments. It just shows you, you can't run away from stuff...rats will find you ;)
Thank you Chris Stuckman! I always appreciate your thoughtful reviews.
Now.... Review Mindhunter
I loved Thomas Jane in The Expanse, he is an amazing actor. I'm not interested in this movie at all, but the fact that i could simply see more of him in it is hard to resist.
Love how he left out The Dark Tower lol. Classic burn.
Thanks for the recommendation!! This was a really good movie. If there were a Netflix version of the Golden Globes, Thomas Jane and Dylan Schmid would definitely be getting some nominations.
Only The Brave review?🙏
1922 was awesome, and Jane really killed it. Honestly, I didn't even recognize Jane until like a quarter into the film.
You forgot about The Dark Tower. It’s ok I did too.
I like how from the trailer's look, thomas Jane's range in his acting. I'll check it out.
We get it, he forgot the dark tower, do we really blame him for it?
I love how you use the term “rotting away”.
I love this movie! And Gerald’s game too. The Directors are finally taking serious the SK’s stories. Now this adaptations have decent budgets and good actors too. I’m really happy with this SK’s adaptation fever. :)
Love your reviews bro :)
Alejandra Morales What were your thoughts on it?
Preview Review .....On “IT”...love it! I really like It. I love the old adaptation, that one was scary as hell, but this new one is pretty faithful to the book and I like that. I was actually waiting on this review. Some of the other reviewers sucked. Thank you stuckmann
I love how Chris Struckmann just ignores that Dark Tower was released recently too lmao
Ryan Toscano I love the fact that so many people cared more about him not mentioning it’s shittiness than they did about this review.
Never read the book. But this film was brilliant. And you are totally right, Thomas Jane's acting is just amazing, all of it was acted so well, the tone of the film at times really made me feel uneasy. Excellent film, really worth viewing.
Chris stop teasing us with that sweet sweet Ragnarok A- xx
Chris Stuckmen here! The internets busiest movie reviewer!
Chris Stuckman grew up in 1922.
This was adapted extremely well from the original story. It was pretty much spot on with how I remember it.
I don't know if I can take your VOD reviews seriously after you gave Brawl In Cell Block 99 an A-
Love your channel chris. Your reviews and insight never disappoint
Mike Patton did the music!!!!!! for those whi do not know who he his he is the frontman of Faith No More, Mr.Bungle, Fantomas, Tomahawk and he has other projects hes done!
cool
Very interesting, kind of reminded me of the side story in Cujo, where the owners of the dog had a dysfunctional family as well. I'll watch it because I really do like King's approach of family dramas. Great review 👍🏼
Do a quinten tarrentino playlist!!!
This movie is so horrific because if you're in hell it's harder to swallow if you're the one who created it. You're in the hell by your own hand.
*THOR RAGNAROK, STUCKMANN. THE NEXT NOTIFICATION BETTER BE IT.*
Please consider Trick or Treat starring Skippy from Family Ties . Horror and heavy metal--two great things in one . Love the Ozzy cameo ranting against suggestive lyrics . Keep up the great work bud .
review natural born killers that film is a trip
I watched it. It was a pretty good movie.
I love how he completely forgot abour The Dark Tower
Full Dark, No Stars is one of my favorite books of King’s.
Mike Pattonnnnnn!!!!!
His music is amazing in this, yes
Cynthia Jones Glad I'm not the only one!!
Never considered watching this before you mentioned Mike Patton did the music. Better watch it right fucking now.
Yeah man, I wouldn't have paid attention if I hadn't have heard he worked on it. He did The Place Beyond the Pines which is an excellent film to if you haven't seen it.
Ok!!
Agree with you 100%, the biggest issue with this film is the pacing, even if it's not a long movie it drags a little. But it keeps you interested through the entire film and i really like the ending.
Really enjoyed this film. I'd consider it "Horror Light". Reminded me a lot of The Telltale Heart and Crime & Punishment.
Spot on! Maybe spiced in with a little "Beloved" and "The Rats in the Walls"...
I loved this short story when I read it, and I saw the title on Netflix yesterday so I'll definitely check it out
Review the babysitter on netflix! It was really funny!

Review Mindhunter
I wasn't sure what to expect going into this movie but ended up really enjoying it.
