it's actually a peony. the use of only 1 flower brings out the beauty of the lone flower even more. and the arrangment stretches out far to the front of the vase, which you cant tell from the video (oops!). when doing that, the use of only one flower is very common. i also have a blog an ikebana that you might enjoy looking at. it's called "hanamai, the ikebana blog". if you have time, please take a look at it!

Ii'm a little bit asthonished to see the use of only one rose and not two. But the result is great , i like too much !
