Just tested it in very light conditions. Similar experience with the lack of bar pressure yet awesome upwind drive. Didn’t have the phantom power or crazy bar pressure of the turbine. It turns in a sweeping motion so while it’s “swift” it’s not fast like say a contra. It doesn’t have the lumbering feel of the turbine either. Somewhere in between I guess. It is quick and easy to generate speed though for light wind airs. It fly’s heavy off the front lines and while I didn’t think so, another friend feels it still had some forward pull. He mainly rides a freestyle kite so I can see the perspective. In contrast to a turbine, it’s not really similar at all imo. I’ll need to test a little more for a solid review. - Rygo
On the SS website it shows that the RPX has a larger wind range than the Machine (both low end and high end). Did you notice the same ? I assumed the machine would at least have a bigger high end wind range.
@@MACkiteboarding yes I’ve got the RPX and Machine from MacKiteboarding. Love the kites but I noticed the sentry bar comes with uneven lines leading to backstalling. I bought two sentry bars both same issue.
You're welcome! I'm glad we could convince you. It's exciting that you've made the decision to go for it. Enjoy your new purchase and have a great time! If you need any further assistance or have more questions in the future, feel free to ask. Good winds to you, my friend. -Aaron
I feel the rpx a little bit more forgiving in kiteloop (the pivot, the radious and the recovery are more fast) and i dont feel Huge differencein therms Of hangtime (rpx vs machine) …what is your favourite Kite between rpx vs machine to try and progress in Kiteloop ? in a session the machine front stall in front Of me after a kiteloop…
Hey Rygo - love the review, keep them coming! I've got a 9 & 11 machine on the way - got the same cab bars as that one you were using there - are 22m lines good for the machines say 9,11,12 sizes ? What length lines were you running on the 12m ? I used to use 24m lines on my raptor and RPM....
Hey Sean, I was using the stock Cabrinha lines here. 23m I think. I did try this with 22 & 24 last year actually. It performed better with 23 / 24 m but it was a prototype. I’m not sure how it would work with shorter lines. I’ve use plenty of slingshot kites with their bar on the shorter lines and while the loops are fun, they don’t perform as well for everything else. - Rygo
does it make sense to test these big air kite on large sizes like that or that you were forced due to light wind ? just thinking that its gonna be hard to judge its boosting/loop capabilities
I’m currently based in Florida. For the sake of speed on the review I was sent a 12 & 15 since there just isn’t many 9m days. I’ll be in windier locations for testing as the Northern hemisphere heats back up. Haha - Rygo
@@MACkiteboarding yes, a 5 struts kite is mainly made for strong and gusty wind. I'd really like you to review a 9m2 or lower size. But I recently watched the Lord of Tram competition replay and Stinj Mul was on a Slingshot Machine and he was sending massive jumps (in 45 knots) with very low and agressive loops. That gives an idea of the kite performance.
last year i try raptor but that model a little bit heavy . İ wanna buy this kite this summer but if heavy than raptor or same i wont.Pls somebody tell me which one is faster. Raptor or machine
Raptor is heavier but also turns faster. It had a loose feeling, was made for loops and liked to be powered as I recall. The machine is more of a sweeping turn, lighter and loftier. - Rygo
It's possible but not ideal. The Power band of the Machine is pretty grunty and raw which makes it more difficult to foil. If you are into foil jumping, that might be a decent application. - Tucker
When you review the 15m can you also test it in light wind conditions? Would be interested in how it compares to the 15m Turbine

How does it compare to some other 5-strut like Switchblade, Edge or even if you got to ride the P1.
How's the performance of this kite for Freeride or Downwinds conditions?
Great question, my friend. 🤙🏽 Give us a shout when you have a moment. We’re always happy to help: 800.622.4655

Thanks for the review, how would you compare it to the Airush Lift, I trying to make a decision between the 2
That's a great question, my friend. 🤙🏽 A quick phone call might be the best way to suss this one out. Got time to chat? (800) 622-4555

I would take the RPX for loops personally. It was actually my choice kite for a few years. - Rygo

How do you like the 12m Machine? Looking to get one myself
Where is this??
Not exactly sure, but RyGo is known to spend a lot of time in the Florida Keys. 🤙🏽 Good winds! -Aaron

I am thinking about 12m sst v6 …. I own the same bar you ride in video…. Would it work no problem?
Yeah, Cabrinha bars with slingshot & vice versa. - Rygo
what cabrinha bar model are you using? tx

Would you recommend a 10m machine for foiling?
It's possible but not ideal. The Power band of the Machine is pretty grunty and raw which makes it more difficult to foil. If you are into foil jumping, that might be a decent application. - Tucker
Was there more to the story on why Slingshot stopped making the Raptor and switched to the Machine?
I don’t know the story. But I like the Machine a lot more. My guess is they wanted to make a more forgiving every man’s kite. - Rygo
Sorry bro I forgot to send the clips..
Cutting the 15m review this week. Still time! - Rygo
