In Vietnam where I grew up, Lunar New Year is known as Tet. And every year at around this time, I’d feel a bit down that I could not be home to celebrate with my parents. With the pandemic, it’s even harder to see the day when that could be a reality.
So, this year, I decided to fully embrace the Tet tradition here with my own little family. We went through almost all the preparations required for Tet. It gave me so much joy, and I feel so connected with my Vietnamese heritage more than ever. I documented everything in this visual Tet diary, and I am so excited to share it with you. I hope Hayden and Irvin will grow up loving Tet as much as I do.
