This is the only planet in the game without any cutscenes. Other than the side stuff to do, this planet was made for a single item, without any further relevance to the plot. I still like this planet a lot; they made an extra mile to obtain something that could've been used as a goal of a side quest on any other planet that is already there.
My guess is they had more planned but scrapped it and turned stuff into side missions e.g. the volcano gauntlet leading to a gold bolt, destroying the Blarg destroyers and at the end is a good bolt
@@Negus222 If that's so, glad that they were able to do more with this level in the Reboot. That being the Telepathopus collection thing and the Jetpack section as a whole
This music is so Spyro. That's why I absolutely love Ratchet and Clank 1. It felt like a sci-fi Spyro adventure with its similar level design, animations and music.
Absolutely NOT. I have no idea what you are talking about. Copeland's Spyro soundtracks were more Fantasy-magic with lots of groove and percussions. Bergeaud's R&C soundtracks were more industrial, techno sampling, sci-fi vibe with little groove and sometimes orchestral.
@@KylesoulDTquit being a hater it’s obviously not a 1:1 but there’s clear similarities. it is in fact, very spyro. many of rac 1’s tracks are very spyro.
I think this is the only level that they faithfully reproduced in the 2016 movie/game version that was actually a lot of fun to play. Doesn't compare to the original, but still, not bad.
What makes getting the gold bolt that's near the start so annoying the first time is the way to get to it. You're in this tight spaced cave with multiple enemies rapid firing at you , AND YOU CAN'T EVEN STRAFE!
I really really need to play through this game again. I've only done two playthroughs, first as an 8-year-old boy, then again as a teen. But both times I never 100%'d the game!
Now that I think about it, the Paratroopers have more in common with Ratchet than I thought. Besides the obvious with the side-flipping, they also can only really fire their guns while standing still much like Ratchet. Sure, Ratchet can move around while shooting, but it's not as effective since the autoaim won't catch the enemies that way.
This planet is one of the most quickest planets you'll ever go to in the game, you just gotta grab a helmet, that's it! They should've put another objective or something for the main missions.
You know if this game had a "if ratchet and clank was realistic" this planet would be the one that would straight up kill him especially since most blargs need spacesuit to go in certain planets and ratchet goes here completely shirtless. Not only with the amount of fumes that would be spewed from all the volcanoes flames and lava. And hoooboy don't even get me started on the lava he'd melt before he even get close to it same for the ship the minute that thing enters the atmosphere but then again this is advanced technology. Then there's there's weak gravity which causes a lot of rocks to be floating and causing meteor showers. Even though rocks crash as a scripted thing in the scenery I'm surprised that wasn't a hazard.
By this logic most levels are unrealistic: Ratchet going half-naked in space with only an O2 mask (which doesn't even seem airtight), and being able to jump and fall despite the supposed lack of gravity, going shirtless and barefoot on Hoven without freezing to death, going around outside on the Aranos flying lab without being blown away by the wind (this thing seems to fly very fast)... Also despite its hellish looking conditions, Gaspar is quite lush with vegetations, and for the asteroids, maybe they are supposed to be magma rocks projected by volcanoes ("volcanic bombs")
I always look fondly on this level, but find it almost entirely forgettable since it only exists to provide a single item. The design was great! It felt unique to every other level at the time, and you don't get the same puzzles here that you do elsewhere. Of course, the most memorable part of this level is the music. Oh! The fact that you unlock the Walloper, which, by contrast, is about as irrelevant as the level, yet equally satisfying to use. Few think of this level without imagining all the bad guys you went out of your way to punch, just because.
@@Adeyum64Yep. Because beyond the Tesla Claw and the RYNO, the Walloper was the only reliable means of killing them in a single hit. At least it helps that the Walloper has unlimited ammo compared to the other weapons I mentioned, but yeah. Pretty niche, unfortunately.
uhh... everything you need is at the end of the road? ok, imma be honest, i don't remember a thing about this planet. did it have something to do with a helmet? i don't know, make up your own philosophical stuff for this one, i certainly can't.
You destroy them so that pieces of the wreckage will show up as platforms across the lava, allowing you to get to the Gold Bolt. That and getting the skill point if you destroy all of them.

All of that as well as the fact that I can listen to this amazing music made this planet for me
The relevant part of the plot is that the world is filled with scientists constantly testing and making new gadgets... It's why the variety occurs.

Yeah, it was the first thing I thought of as well. The music could be put into any Spyro Level and it wouldn't feel out of place.
It fits Ratchet and Clank way better, though.

I was thinking the exact same thing, it sounds like something you'd hear in a Spyro game
Yup it really reminds me of Molten Crater’s music from Spyro 3
