Congrats!!! Brings back memories... my instructor just got out of the plane , mid runway!!! And said go!! It's all yours now!! Gulp! What a moment. Way back in 1970. :-)
Lol ,same thing happened to me in 1977 . I had to do three landings because it was an uncontrolled airport so I couldn't do touch and go . This video takes me back.

I’ve always wanted to be a pilot. I’m from southern Asia and I joined commerce stream in my 11th grade. I’m currently doing my bachelors degree in business administration. Here, students from commerce stream cannot go into aviation ( applications are rejected) but then we can at countries like USA. And I really want to pursue aviation but my height is only 5ft 1 inches and i’m worried maybe it’ll just be a waste of time and effort going somewhere else to study but then failing at the end just because of that. Any suggestions or information about these criterias? Or should I accept that this is never gonna happen to me?
Watched your flight and tried to translate what was your feelings... Would they have been similar to mine 42 years ago? Was the swing of the airplane with the wind the same? What about the engine noise? Would the tinkling of the keychain of the magneto keys before takeoff have been as "disturbing" as it was to me? Would the tone of the other people on the radio have been as welcoming as it was for me? Interesting that I do not remember much of the details of the flight, after all, it was just ONE of many in my training, and everything was very normal and without scares. But those little things, hitherto unnoticed, seemed to come together to conspire or help, I do not know... Today, 14000 hours of flight later, sometimes with some inspiration and introspection, I have the same feelings again. Sometimes I tell this to the colleague on my side and I get back a smile from who knows perfectly what is this all about. You are the next generation Ivette. I am counting on your greatness and consideration to this great brotherhood to which you are a part now. Be happy!
That moment @ 11:21-24. The moment it hits you. You've done it. You're soon going to be licensed and for all intents and purposes - You're now an aviator. Bravo and congrats!

She's so sweet, just when touching down for the last time, she started to get emotional. Daughters are so precious when they show such honest emotion. Great flying by the way, Ivette.
Congrats Ivette ! That’s a special day, among many more to come, but NEVER will there be another FIRST solo ! You were set free that day and you will always have that. Safe skies and thanks for sharing the ride ! 🛫
As a pilot and more importantly as a parent I am so happy and proud of your accomplishment, your desire and tenacity will take you in any direction you desire in aviation, very well done young lady, my kids wanted nothing to do with flying, try as I might, but it's not for everyone, all the best !
Welcome Aboard!!! Congratulations and a Job well done. Your life will never be the same. You have opened a whole new world for yourself. This is one of those fields that everyone who has been through it knows what it's like and it brings back that same feeling. After a while you too will help nurture future pilots and share the joys of flying. All the best to you our newest member. Oh, and thanks to your CFI too. Bravo Zulu!!
That really was a great video especially the hug at the end. You might enjoy the interview of this 18 year old young man who was 9,000 miles from home when he soloed. The interview starts at 17 mins... ua-cam.com/video/QaOnf_HzpJc/v-deo.html
Micah Gaar You are the sweetest!!😢 You were a HUGE part of making this happen. I honestly couldn’t have done it without you. You were my inspiration and I could only hope to be half the pilot you are! Thank you for introducing me to the astounding world of aviation and giving me a whole new perspective on life!✈️❤️
Micah Gaar I agree. You can see the focus and then the disbelief as she waited for ground. What an accomplishment. Great job Ivette. Actually makes me want to take up flying.
So cool. It brings me back to my first solo. You're serious and professional and doing everything you trained for. The adrenaline exceeds the nervousness. You know in your head you're going to do it. Pulling out onto the runway there's no turning back now. Theres feelings like you're not ready, but your CFI believes in you, so you take his or her word. And it turns out great. Maybe not a perfect flight, prob made some mistakes but what an exhilarating experience. Congrats!
Brad Perry Definitely an adrenaline rush and feeling like no other. I appreciate your positive feedback. Can’t wait to continue on this awesome journey. Thanks for watching!
I want to tag on to the crying comment below. I don't even know you but watching someone fulfill a dream that I also personally have made me tear up. Congrats! I am very happy for you. I hopefully will be able to join a flight school here in Florida very soon. Onward and upward!!
This is serious business and this young lady is serious about it. No smiley showboating going on here. EXACTLY who you want to have behind the yoke. CONGRATULATIONS!
Not one for flying, but congrats to you for all you have achieved at such a young age. You flew that plane like you had done it a 1,000 times before. Best of luck going forward! 🇺🇸👍
Congratulations. Brought me back to my first solo in 1974 at John Wayne Airport in Southern California. We all lack some radio confidence in the beginning it will become second hand before long. Your instructor probably already said get the nose wheel up higher on touchdown otherwise it looks very good. Flying great isn't it ...still hasn't lost thrill for me after all these years.
This is one of the best onboard flight videos I've watched! Congratulations on your first solo flight Ivette, I'm not a pilot but your flight/ control..... that looked so smooth! It's a thumbs up from me!
As a CFII, watching your reaction after your last landing had me teary and brought back memories of my first solo lol. Congrats on a day to remember forever!
@@nbt3663 Yeah, man, it's strange. I've been obsessed with watching these videos and seeing how far these people have come to get to the point where they solo. I'm excited for them! I performed my first solo right there at Page Field (Ft. Myers), Runway 5, in 1978. So long ago! Congrats. to you on your first! Many a happy and safe flights to you! ;-) . . BTW - That was a perfect T&G!
A little bounce at the end. Beautiful. Everybody bounces and I mean everybody (even pilots with 19,000 hrs). In aviation, you got to have a short memory. I noticed that the plane was still flyable. Relax. You did great, you really did great. Now just chill and have some fun. Congratulations!!!!!
Nice job! You should be very proud. I remember my first solo... Then I flew for 12 years in the US Navy. From a former Fighter Pilot, I congratulate you miss.

PS, I don't think it's against any FAA rules if you smile in the cockpit even if you are alone, smile with exhilaration that you have achieved something that most only ever aspire too. Takes me back to my first solo. It was all pretty automatic but it got VERY real when I made the first right crosswind turn and there was no instructor there. I thought, "Well, I made the choice to take off, I've got no choice but to land..." Some of the best landings I ever made. Great job maintaining that center line and keeping the upwind on center line!
Congratulations, great job! You're fixated on the gauges too much. You should glance at your gauges once in a while and look outside the majority of the time.

I remember mine also. That 152 cockpit got really big when my instructor stepped out and said "Your airplane..."
