Yeah, that exchange about them looking alike really felt like the writers trying to get a similar interaction in, even if they didn’t have the mistaken identity aspect from SA2. A simple thing, but a nice little nod to the source material.

I just noticed how they all have different gloves. Sonics is soft, knuckles is boxing gloves and shadows is like biker or space glove material. So interesting.
I can’t recall the names off the top of my head, but I’m pretty sure one of the head honchos working on this movie also worked at Blur Studios back in the day and actually made the CGI cutscenes for Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic 06
Great clip, and the fact that he said he saw them jump out of a G.U.N helicopter, making him see them as an enemy working with them, already great writing of how much G.U.N affected his life after "The Incident"

I’m pretty sure the part at the end where sonic falls down is a reference to the shadow the hedgehog game. The intro specifically at the end where sonic falls down and shadow is behind him standing. Awesome recreation!
This is why Shadow is popular, he's basically the "Wolverine" of the Sonic series. They got his character perfect in personality, and abilities for this movie adaptation.
I'm rewatching the second movie on DVD rn and it's still great to this day and that line "You Jumped out of a Gun Helicopter there's nothing to talk about" is so dark I love it this movie deserves the hype so glad Sonic's design was changed and Jeff listened to the fans

Add to the fact that 50 years ago, he must’ve believed that he was the only one of his kind, so he must’ve been shocked on the inside seeing creatures who are almost like him.
I feels like shadow had a bit of hope that cuz the sonic and his friends look like him they could understand him and Maybe help him but then he remember that they jump of a G.U.N helicopter soo they are on the G.U.N side (the same G.U.N that took everything from him) and then he just look disappointed, and for the angst part the last piece of hope he has just fell down on way
You can hear the disgust in Shadows voice in "You jumped out of a G.U.N. helicopter, there's nothing to talk about." It's clear he can't even hide it that someone so similar to him, even though he just met this person, is working for G.U.N. One more subtle thing is when you look at the movement of his eyes when he says that line, you can just see the pain in his eyes seeing that someone like him sided with gun. It's like he sees a part of himself in Sonic, about once being aligned with the people who took away Maria, and for just a second he reflects on his time with G.U.N., and the pain and regret and anguish resurfaces amongst his rage. This. Scene. Absolutely. Kills. It.
Something I also appreciate is you can see confusion on Shadow’s face when he’s saying “why do you look like me?” even if it seems to be there for only a second.
Sonic: "Um, excuse? Why do you look like me?" Shadow: "I don't look like you. You look like me? Why do you look like me?" Sonic: "Hey, you know what? I'll ask the questions here, new hedgehog. Who are you? Why do you look like me?"
He's angered, disgusted, and saddened all at the same time by the fact that the blue hedgehog who looks like him is working with GUN who killed his only best friend and little sister figure Maria (who was just a CHILD!) 50 years ago😢

I would like to know what the soundtrack will be called, when the movie comes out I will watch it first and then I will look for that soundtrack that is heard when Shadow hits Knuckles and Sonic and Tails. I really liked that soundtrack and I don't know what happened but when I heard that soundtrack for the first time while watching the clip for the first time I already liked it a lot.
To be fair, Shadow asking Sonic, "Why do you look like me?" makes more sense because in the movie's canon, Shadow existed decades before Sonic was even born.
This scene is perfect, the lines, the CG animation is perfect. This is giving me chills. including incredible references to previous sonic games. Keanu Reeves is perfect as Shadow... This movie is going to be the best Christmas present from Paramount.

In the movie canon, at least from what I remember, GUN was established after the events of the first movie. But since it’s a government organization, it’s still the same thing. Yeah, I imagine he felt betrayed by another set of beings that resemble him, working for the side that killed his friend.
Add to the fact that 50 years ago, he must’ve believed that he was the only one of his kind, so he must’ve been shocked on the inside seeing creatures who are almost like him.

You can hear the disgust in Shadows voice in "You jumped out of a G.U.N. helicopter, there's nothing to talk about."
It's clear he can't even hide it that someone so similar to him, even though he just met this person, is working for G.U.N.
One more subtle thing is when you look at the movement of his eyes when he says that line, you can just see the pain in his eyes seeing that someone like him sided with gun. It's like he sees a part of himself in Sonic, about once being aligned with the people who took away Maria, and for just a second he reflects on his time with G.U.N., and the pain and regret and anguish resurfaces amongst his rage.
This. Scene. Absolutely. Kills. It.
Something I also appreciate is you can see confusion on Shadow’s face when he’s saying “why do you look like me?” even if it seems to be there for only a second.
