The gentleman playing the trombone solo is pretty darn good...the entire ensemble is uber tasty.
LIke like like
Dang. That was a really amazing solo from Melissa Aldana. What a nice build up.
so this is what's going in North Texas? please continue! what's impressive to me (besides Melissa's wonderful extended piece) is the high musicianship of the Lab band.
it gives hope that somehow these young musicians will mine something from the jazz masters of the past and extend it, bring fresh blood and ideas to this music.
Melissa Aldana's wonderful saxophone playing fits perfectly with the band's beautiful warm sound which includes some talented young soloists.
Aldana is the real deal....beautiful....
I'm with these guys them girls outplaying them all 😌
goddamn melissa aldana is amazing, will have to check out more of her
What a work of art!
cómo no amarla y admirarla
Awesome !!!
Greetings frm Mauritius !!

I was waiting for this to be uploaded! Just fantastic!
Vuela Melisa,Vuela!!
Fantastic. Perfectly explendid!!!!!!!!!
Melissa as a composer - very impresive. P.S.I heard somo Meria Schneider here...
me too..very much so
Reminds me strongly of the music of Maria Schneider!
Tenor soloist sounds a little bit like Dexter Gordon...absolutely beautifully crafted solo
I hear some licks of the great Michael Brecker in her solo..
Outstanding! Was this influenced by Mingus? What's the time signature at the end cool drum pattern on the snare
I would be very surprised if someone told me that the drummer never had at least one lesson with Peter Erskine
Did John Sturino graduate?
im so sad he's not in this band anymore
Can someone tell the names of the tunes? can't find them
14:55 ! all these solos were brilliant, but some of the lines there are just ridiculous
Anyone have program notes and know who the vocalist is?
dog de la frog vocalist is Marion Powers
Two bass trombones?
