“1791 was the year it happened. I was 24, younger than you are now but times were different then. I was a man at that age. A master of a large plantation just the south of New Orleans. I had lost my wife in childbirth. She and the infant had been buried less than a year. I would have been happy to join them. I could not bear the pain of their loss. I longed to be released from it.” This theme evokes both innocence and melancholy. Like an old soul longing for the memories of the past. Such a masterpiece.
The first minute of this piece is among the most beautiful, majestic music I've ever heard. It's stayed with me since I first watched the film over 20 years ago. It vividly conjures the imagery at the start of the first flashback, accompanied by Louis' poetic narration.
The movie holds up so well. In this piece of music, I swear it sounds like Elliot sampled a bit of Wagner's Entry of the God's Into Valhalla. This is where Tom Cruise is lifting up Brad Pitt before he is turned and it sounds a lot like Wagner. And you can hear a bit of Alien 3 cues as well. So good...the movie and the score.
Except composed more than a decade before RE4. I love both of these titles, and honestly it's about 30 seconds of a similar tune, not at all the same song.
AMC did a superb adaptation! Mesmerizing! The changes were necessary in terms of era because AMC didn’t want to risk a period television show that wouldn’t pay off. Mind you, it costs close to $4 million an episode of some of the best television franchises: Game of Thrones, etc. I loved AMc’s adaptation-it focused on Louis! The emphasis of the book.

@@seanbannon7939 1791 is the date given in the book, though the story of his family was changed slightly.

Elliot Goldenthall really needs this and his Alien³ soundtracks on vinyl record. 🥲

I cant find this version on spotify, only a shorter one :(
its not on Spotify :(
@@martijnvangammeren1868 I wish there was a higher quality version. But there is not even a way to buy it 😞 No concert, nothing.
Bella davvero tutto questo è una magia di tenebre è vita
Terrific Soundtrack, too bad that Guns n Roses song at the end ruined the end titles, completely unnecessary.
The statutes moved but didn’t. Everything had changed yet stayed the same. I was a newborn vampire weeping at the beauty of the night.
"The statutes moved but didn’t. Everything had changed yet stayed the same." and we have the beginning of an Doctor who episode
@E M truly, I started reading the book it’s quite good
You gave me goosebumps.
Incredible soundtrack.
Farewell, Anne Rice. You'll be sorely missed but never forgotten.
......Oh Louis, Still whining Louis
Goldenthal should've won the Oscar for this sh*t!!!
Ironic, this is the perfect song for the thought that we will never hear its like again. Everything beautiful and deep about movies is long dead.
What about don’t look up ???

A very sad song for a very sad vampire... Be careful what you wish for... Ethernal youth can also be a curse !!!
1:50 - 2:00 Hear the angels sing as God has forsaken us all to die.
Wonderful yet also gloomy orchestra....elliot goldenthal is such genius for creating this ambience
2:00 la parte che preferisco..... "..vuoi ancora la Morte...o l'hai assaggiata abbastanza?" Capolavoro ❤️

Me hace sentir un poco melancólica como se sentía Loui el dolor de perder a su esposa e hija
Todo o filme é melancólico demais kkkk
Sí, y además vio su último amanecer. Luego renace, un nuevo ser llorando la belleza de la noche
Alien 3 here.
Superb
Interview with the Vampire is my favorite movie of all time, and the soundtrack is just as glorious & beautiful. 🩸🌹🌹
Exquisite
I like the sound effects

AMC's IWTV is a mockery compared to this adaptation.
