Got a mk6 gtd, need window switch replacing so will be on this today. Also got a squeaky drivers window.. my wing mirrors don’t dip in reverse though, anything I can do on MFD settings?
Squeaky window is dry window seal...bet it doesn't squeak when it's raining....silicone spray on window seals, let it soak in for a few hours, will make a bit of mess on the glass but cleans off easily. Mirror dip might not be set up, only passenger Mirror dips, set the toggle to passenger side Mirror, L or R depending on left or right hand drive, put car in reverse then adjust the Mirror to where you want it to dip to, turn toggle to 0 and it should return to original position. Mirror will only dip if the toggle is set to passenger side Mirror, won't dip if toggle is set to 0....hope that makes sense 😉
Hi mate, where did you get those black trims for the door inserts and just above the glovebox and the bits behind either side of the steering wheel? Could you send the link for these? I’d like to make the same mods to my golf mk6 please :)
Great video mate. Unrelated, how do you get your mirror dip to work? I have coded it and enabled it with obdeleven and have the dial set to the left side, still does not work. Do you need power folding mirrors?
You don't need power folding mirrors but you do need to set the mirror for position you want it at....key to acc, into reverse, set mirror. Turn on ignition and turn stalk to 0 and mirror should return to normal position after 5 seconds. Turn to L engage reverse and mirror should dip
Hi. I have the same issue but I cannot find the right replacement anywhere any suggestions please. Same thing happened ordered the wrong one by mistake but finding the right one is like looking for a needle in a haystack. I even searched using the codes and no luck. Nice car too 😊
Hi mate I have a problem with my 2012 cabrio my rear window stopped working I can hear it click when I pull switch up but nothing when pressing for down and my driver window gone crazy works when it wants have you had any issue like that could it be the switch block?
I’ve not seen that switch I’ll look now it should work should it only happened today rear window stopped working it works when I put roof down like moves down a bit for roof
Yes there is a switch in centre console with roof switch that operates all 4 windows together....if that switch is working you need 2 replacement switches for drivers door...see link amzn.to/3URPWf9
I have the vw cab and my passenger door window doesn’t go down the 1 inch it needs to get under the soft top then it pops up when I open and close door ? What do you think that the problem is please ?
OK, first up does the window open and close on the switch, do the windows go down if you hold unlock on the key? If the answer to the above questions is no then it's probably a bad window regulator.....if the answer is yes, try disconnecting the battery negative terminal for 10 mins, this should reset the module
Yes switch works but not as the one touch option on master or door switch ? all window goes down holding the unlock button I will try and disconnect negative now thank you 🙏🏻
@stevenlomas8812 one touch can be reset by opening the windows all the way down and continue holding for 5 seconds, then close windows and hold for 5 seconds. Let me know how you get on 👍

Had this issue on mine. Think it was like £10 off aliexpress and sorted. Wind deflectors help prevent this a bit too
Cabriolet switch panel isn't available on aliexpress...single switches yes but I wanted new facia plate.....can't fit wind deflectors on a Cabriolet 🤪

They are factory trims on the 2.0 GTTDI Cabriolets...you can get them from VW directly but they are £120 per door and £90 for dash trims 🙈

I thought you needed power folding mirrors but obviously not, when I get time I will try to get this to work on my car.
It's not available on all specs of Golf....my Mrs doesn't have the function on her base line mk6...mine is GTTDI

Took neg off sounded promising - passenger window now down and just clicking on the up and down when pressed ? Regulator ?
Unfortunately I think its the regulator 🙈
