They are probably going to develop the event at snails pace as they have always done and then in 26 years (2 years after Star Citizen released) we will finally be able to find out what is at the centre of those maelstroms.
I think Taranis got so tired of commanders trying to see what it is in the middle and chose you to use your ship was a frisbee. But to be realistic. I dont think you would had survived that g force of spinning so fast. Let alone if there had been drag in terms of air, then I think Eagle would had been rip apart. You know, like a plane can do if it goes over the designed limit of the body
I'm sure someone can calculate the G's pulled from a sudden change of 2800M/s+ like this in half a second. I have a feeling it's somewhere between "brain smoothie" and "atomized eyes" on number of G's pulled.
@@almightydeityI mean, Earth's gravity is about 9'8 m/s^2 acceleration. If we assume he got accelerated to 2800 m/s in just half a second that would be about 2800/0'5=5600m/s^2 (assuming an increment from zero, I'm not really sure in what direction he changed speeds), which would be the equivalent of 5600/9'8=571'43 Gs approximately.
very nice footage, worthy of study. Did note you proceeded suprisingly far with a small ship and its speed. with rather plotted routes with the speed , taking note of nearby mines to avoid nearby firing at the ship, as caustic on a small ship is brutal. i think should be able navigate through majority of caustic and mines, seems at the end you either picked up interceptors or the smaller ones, two or more radar contacts shooting at yourself prior to the shutdown wave from middle of maelstrom. very nice footage again. i think maybe way to negate interceptors from inconclusive tests earlier today so there is a potential for small science ships to do whats needed
Night vision lets you see all the mines when at the edge of the cloud, then not much difference after entering it. Have some math on the physics of the 2400 ms fling I posted to Reddit for fun tho I dont even want to start to know what the G forces involved here were... Just kidding, I have nothing better to do so it hits roughly 2400 m/s near instantly, but since the display blacks out we can pretend it's a 1 second acceleration in case any of that is over time, which is more than generous and also extremely convenient for me as I can compare it to 9.8 m/s without squaring. It comes out to just north of 240g in that case. This is coincidentally 100x the G factor of jupiter's gravity well, and somewhere around 9x the gravitational acceleration of the sun. The Eagle's frame theoretically had to endure a force of 12,000 tons from its own hull mass alone (and this had hull refs so it should be well closer to 100 than the 50 of the hull) That's equivalent to having 6 fully fit Type 10's sitting on top of it in 1g, or a anaconda hull sitting on top of it in the sun's gravity. And remember, the weight numbers all hinge on the very generous assumption that the Eagle is only hull mass, and the G force on the fact that the acceleration took one second (which really didnt seem the case), it could be 2 to 4 times greater with more generous estimates
@@MichaelCollins19 I would believe not. Maybe it would stop the actual shutdown effects. I didnt want to mount more weight than I already did while doing this I have all the reason to believe the forcible shunt is completely unavoidable though
i wonder what would happen if a group of people try to penetrate the center, if the timing is right others could charge directly after the shockwave maybe and get to the center.
I was thinking something along these lines, what if we bait the wave, retreat beyond its range then dive for the core right after? We still dont know the cooldown for this wave yet.
could going in with low heat make a difference? since that helps through off targeting with the interceptors, maybe going in popping heat sink or silent running might get someone closer before it does the repulsion thing
Actually if anything going in with high heat is a better idea, either at the closest point you can get or when the wave hits you it applies an extremely nasty level of caustic effect So if you wanted to ride the bounce without dumping your speed to get a limped out and cut the caustic off, having a high heat and burning the caustic off would be a good idea
Someone needs to sne in a ship to activate the knock back wave (or whatever it is) then send in another ship while the wave is recharging if if has a recharge or if it can just activate it as constantly as needed
Interesting. Didnt know that. It should be on for me. My belief is because the G force was only for a split second the game didnt let it take its toll. Elite seems to cause black / red when ~20G is reached, but it needs time no matter how many G to set in
tbf an Eagle vs a Taranis in EVE would be a pretty sad day for everyone involved unless the Eagle is only set up for range with no App and the Taranis runs under the guns, otherwise the Eagle will just poke it till it runs away considering no way in hell a Eagle tackles a Taranis if you meant ED Eagle vs EVE Taranis, it would just be a massive W for the Taranis. Fun fact: the ship is heavily bogged down by engineered hull reinforcements here. Fully stripped she does well over 700 m/s An IEagle can do 932 stripped but that would have been too easy, plus eagle sounds are very nice
Yeah I considered it but I was kinda wanting the cooler Eagle sound I’ll probably do it in a IEagle and a Sidey to see what happens if you go fast in or super light in
these are fully maxed G5 Dirtys on 3A enhanced performance. There is no better engineering for thrusters available. I had to swap the FSD from the racing 2D to a 3A to reach the system and had to install multiple heavy duty hull reinforcements to survive the caustic damage. That weight all takes quite a toll on enhanced perf, normally I hit the Eagle's hull speed cap on this ship.
@@clankplusm On the Eagle with the enhanced drives switch to drive distributor instead of dirty if you have the ship weighted down. I don't understand the numbers on the mechanics of these affect concerning the enhanced engines. Main problem is that you are useing a regular Eagle instead of the Imperial Eagle. The latter has a maximum boost of 932, while the regular has only 815. But to get these number, the ship must be fully stripted, including shield. Still the 604 boost imply that you have equipped an extra 25 ton beyound the minimum mass of 60, which is understandable as you need shield, jumprange and armor to survive. I sueggest useing drive distributors instead of drag drives, as it gives you an extra 6 ton to work with, which is enough for shields, and some other stuff (no heavy armor though). Also use Imperial Eagle insted of the regular.
