LA DEL MANOJO DE ROSAS (zarzuela) / Banda Simfònica d'Algemesí

"La del manojo de rosas" is a zarzuela with lyrics by Anselmo C. Carreño and Francisco Ramos de Castro, and music by maestro Pablo Sorozábal, premiered with great success at the Fuencarral Theater on November 13, 1934.
With this work, a love story in which the protagonist refuses to use marriage as a tool for social ascent, Maestro Sorozábal was definitively consecrated as a composer; in it he knew how to reflect the atmosphere of Madrid at the time of the premiere, wisely combining the traditional rhythms of the sainet such as the pasdoble, the mazurca or the xotis, with others such as the fox trot or the farruca, giving it a new character and sense.
The Symphonic Band of Algemesí performs the zarzuela "La del manojo de rosas", by Pablo Sorozábal, in the Member's Concert held on February 4, 2023 at the Municipal Theater of Algemesí.

"La del manojo de rosas" és una sarsuela amb lletra d'Anselmo C. Carreño i Francisco Ramos de Castro, i música del mestre Pablo Sorozábal, estrenada amb gran èxit al Teatre Fuencarral el 13 de novembre de 1934.
Amb aquesta obra, una història d'amor en què la protagonista es nega a utilitzar el matrimoni com a eina d'ascens social, es va consagrar definitivament el mestre Sorozábal com a compositor; en ella va saber reflectir l'ambient del Madrid de l'època de l'estrena, conjugant sàviament els ritmes tradicionals del sainet com el pasdoble, la masurca o el xotis, amb altres com el fox trot o la farruca, donant-li un nou caràcter i sentit.
