Blair Conklin smoothest, fastest, quickest, most creative , skimcrazy cat ever. Many who’ve seen him here on the East Coast know his skills know no bounds. Very good dude.
So I've seen that high tide, inside skim lineup at 'Bu for decades, and imagined that exactly what we saw here, was possible. But I never thought I'd see a knife-fighter win the outside sword melee, in that fashion. Congratulations. You're a King of First Point.
Yes Timmy! We definitely want more commentary from you! Love that perma-grin. You guys are living the dream. Thanks for the good vibes and heal that cut up.
Lolololololol I'm so glad to see this!!! I was pissn the longboarders off doing this in the late 70's on my "bon aire" skimmer lololol.i git s vic skimmer in the early 80's and passed the lonbiarders off then to lololol. I love this I love this .
Nothing wrong with bringing a knife to a sword fight. If you use the knife with the exemplary skills like you use the skim board, you’re golden! 🤙🏼✌🏼❤ P.S. Tim, you need some of Nonnie’s home cooking!
Hey Blair, the painfully demoralizing spell of shitty surf down here in CR this season has me in a state - the surf's been crappier than normal mate, and I'm over it. And yet, after not even 5 minutes of watching this video, I'm quite literally cheering, then laughing out loud...I watch you guys get a couple nice little sliders in the shore slop, and then hey - what's that I see pumping through outside?...it's Blair, just owning it, all the way to the sand and a step-off! I loved it - it totally made my day...I grew up in Malibu just a few miles north of the pier, "back in the day" if you will, and I can only imagine the confusion experienced by some of those old dudes as they saw what happened...I hope you got a standing ovation brah!!! With love from Central America, Chris
We started skimming there mid 80s. They were some of the longest rides we ever had. Also did paddle in on skims then. Surfing was pretty vanilla then so going down the line on a skim then spinning 360s out in the break definitely caused confused stares.
@@JAfonsoNunesMartins10 I would check out different beaches and make sure you go when there is waves, for my area if you go to the bach on a normal day you might come across 1 skimmer if your lucky but on a day with waves, if you go to the right beach, there will be multiple people there skimming. that's my best advice for meeting people. Also, go by your local board shop if you have one and talk to the people in there and ask about who else skims in your area, good luck bro
@Gonçalo Henrique My pfp is 9 years old, I'm actually 18 now. I wish I could go with friends but they aren't into water sports and we live in Braga, so it's like 40min to the beach. But the beaches I go aren't the best for skimboarding, maybe there are better ones in Portugal that I don't know. Abraços para ti também
That intro music as you were in Laguna had some “Archie’s” tone to it. Grew up in Malibu on the weekends and Summers some forty/fifty plus years ago. Not the place I remember. Moved into Paradise Cove is 82’ after high school when making $45 a day six days a week was enough to rent a little single wide trailer there. Space #28.
I’m trying my hardest to learn how to skim board and I just loveee this channel. A lot of your tips help but getting it down is hard. I have a good ol zap board but I really want a exile board like that. It looks sooo nice and smooth. I want to keep committing to learning but being able to go to the beach is hard.
So, back in 1979- 1984, and beyond, 10Th Street was my stomping grounds, Grommie! Just kidding. But bring extra trashbags to clean the litterbug crap up. And then, the hike up the stairs. As kids, to catch the last bus, we would time and race up the stairs of 1,000 Step Beach. The best average time, of sand to a bus stop is 5 minutes. South Coast Hospital is right across the street.
It's all about positioning yourself in the right place to catch the wave. You have to be right under the breaking wave so you let the wave do all the work instead of having to paddle really hard on a board that is buoyant.

It gives me goosebumps to see Blair playing so gracefully with the ocean. B E A U T I F U L 🎉

Best all round surfer in the world amazing to watch skimming or riding a soft top
Appreciate the kind words Peter! Finless surfing is really something special
I really enjoy Skylars eye for cinematrography on the skim edits, great job!

Yew! Much love bro
Blairs an artist and that skim is his brush
Is it me, or is it just crazy how much speed he generates on that thing, especially when you see him catch waves on the outside
Nah you’re right it’s fuckin insane. No fins to drive the board forward either it’s all coming from like 3ft of knife sharp rail. So sick
What also helps is the wave rushing back to the ocean which helps him go a lil further also he is just freaking fast
It isn't a sesh at the point without some old loc dawg acting like you kicked his cat just cuz you showed up.
great Malibu fun. surf schoolers having to pull out as Blair races down the line..epic
I vaguely remember a very high tide and a sizable swell 3 to 5 ft swell and I had a hoot of a time.you bring back great memories for me.thank you.
These videos make me nostalgic for the simpler times on the youtubes. 🤙
Fun, friendly and kooky. Such good vibes! Brilliant : )

Great job on the footy, Skylar. Timmy killed it with the snacks…B went dummy on the board as usual
It has to be so awesome to do what you love and everyone who watchs gets to enjoy.
“I’m going to bring a knife to a sword fight!”
Epic skimboard analogy, lol.
Ahh just love this kind of skim videos. The simple things in life. Moreee
Nice job Skylar. Really enjoyed the film.

So good this video. Skylar rocks!!! Awesome footage
And his knife beat up all the swords… Best surfer on the planet🏆🏆🏆
Can you please show Blair actually getting up on those outside waves no idea how he does it it’s so tough
The first one at 2:37 looks like he was actually out in the water and somehow pops up??
So smooth Blair, great skimming, 🏄🏻♂️
We need more skyrar on skid kids
Awesome Video! Can't wait to see more videos with Tim and Nate!
Yeah Leo!

“Secondary’s over there” I felt that hahah
Finless freedom, no fins to slow you down.💥
That first skurf wave you sprayed the longboarder with his own spray, skimblastikk!!
another great video. I liked how they explain the different skimboards.
Blair catching waves is mind blowing
Hey Blair I met you at Malibu and wanted to thank you for being so nice
wowza, this is a good one. skylar👍👍
What a dream spot.
Loving the Malibu vibes!!!
those paddle ins were nuts!
Great background music selection. Fits well...

Sick video. Love to see you back into it Blair!
This is sick, I started skimboarding like a month ago and seeing this makes me regret buying a wooden board! Nice edit keep it up guys!
@Gonçalo Henrique but how do you find people? I've been alone for 4 years and never saw one person doing wave skimming in my local beaches
You got to start somewhere
You bought a tourist toy lol

Skimboarding all day!
wow! inspiring
Malibu is a neat change, but I still find the siders more entertaining.
It looks like Timmy is cycling off the juice again.
Those stairs. Two steps at a time.
that layback at 9:11 was something else
Oh, hello Timmy! ❤ that (skinny) guy!
I enjoyed the music very much.

More Timmy!!!!

The local Malibu 9 balls need to chill out with the vibes, I don’t think they’ve ever seen skimboarding like this. @3:50
Where do I buy one of your split tail skimboards?
Did Wes Anderson make this? Excellent vibe as always!
🔥
Gnarly 🤟🤙
You are awsome
Good job Blair 👍 Costco bro😉

Blair were you around Lahaina or Kaanapali,Maui in the mid to late 80s
Top👏🚀
How do you paddle on to waves with a skim board with out sinking through the wave?
