I am very glad that UA-cam recommended this channel to me. I live in The Netherlands and love the Baltic states. Especially Latvija, your neighbour. I lost my heart to this beautifull country and I visit it on a regular base. I love Baltic food and Russian/Oekranien recipies. We make our favorite ones at home having Radio Latvia 2 on at the background so we can dream that we still are in our favourite country. @@romasandmo As a young girl one of my favourite things were helping my grandmother out in her kitchen. To me it always were magical moments when she thought me her recipies, creating a nice meal together. Now I am nearly 54 years old, my grandmother is with the angels for almost 8 years now. I miss her so much but these beautiful memories will last forever. When my 21 year old son is not to busy we like to cook together ; especially Baltic (Latvijan), Russian or Oekranian recipies. We share the love to Latvija together and we try to speak the language a little bit (very difficult to us😉). I really enjoy discovering your channel. It has a very refreshing and unique approach. Very familiar ; reminding me of my time with my grandmother. Almost if I was there too, like I stand behind you both enjoying the interaction and atmosphere. @@romasandmo we are Dutch (citizins of The Netherlands). Both my son and I share the love for the Baltic states, especially Latvija 😍 your neighbour. It is a beautiful and proud country and we have huge respect for the culture, history and people. We visit Latvija on a regular base and we both try to learn a little bit of the (for us oh so difficult) Latvijan language 😥. Till now we can speak and write a few words and tiny sentences which are often used. In our opinion is the Lithuanian language quit simular to the Latvijan. Sometimes we even understand a few words of what you and your grandmother are talking about 😊 Your unique approach speaks to my heart, it feels like I am in your kitchen too and that I am part of your interaction with your grandmother. This must be the gourmet version of borscht. I didn't know you could put meatballs in the borscht and there isn't a borscht violation being committed? I will definitely be making this recipe over the others I've seen. Thank you Romas and Mo!

Here in Lithuania my mommy always used to make borscht with meatballs. To this day it's my favourite soup and when I come home she welcomes me with it :)
